Do any of you know any good Severus Snape stories which either mentors or takes over guardianship of Harry Potter? Severus Snape is not biological father of any kind.

I really like Digging for the Bones by Paganaidd. It's on potions and snitches as well as ffn.

That one is a 'Snape is Harry's biological father' one. But I definitely agree with you; that one's really good.

Then I stopped reading. Just can't stand that guy Having him being the one to help was a bit borderline for me already, but thats where I draw the line

For some reason, everyone seems to either love Snape or hate him.

Yeah, with many characters, there's no middle ground - people either hate them, or they love them and excuse everything they do. Oh well, if we didn't disagree now and then, we'd not need to discuss the books so much, and what use would a forum be, then?

We'd end up sounding like deranged fangirls if we agreed on everything, I think. *shudders*

*snicker* A cross between Colin and Ginny? Imagine the 'discussion': A: posts some opinion B: Just what I think! C: Completely agree D: You are right etc. etc. Entertaining discussion, indeed

Yes, I definitely think being able to disagree is actually a blessing... This site would be incredibly boring without difference of opinion.
That said, if we all agree on nothing, that would be just as bad.

True, there were some heated discussions. But so far no slit throats, as far as I know Of course, arguing all the time is equally bad. But I always (ok, nearly always) enjoyed to see how the same text in a book or story can be interpreted differently. It gives you often new angles and perspectives to a story or character you thought you knew well, or helps you to make new connections and all that. It's why I always love this sort of discussion board. People point out things you haven't noticed even after reading the story many times, and whoops, it makes 'click' and you suddenly see a new picture of something. That's what fascinates me even after having known HP (or LotR, for that matter) for years.
