I just saw that both the OoTP and Half-Blood Prince fics have been deleted off of FFN.
Is there a way we can get notifications through this site when new chapters are updated?

I can't find a way to subscribe to a forum so that you can tell when new chapters are posted, so I guess you'll just have to be checking...
I'm looking around, I think I see a way to subscribe to a topic, and I might have an idea regarding that...

Have you tried the "bookmark" button? I don't know if that helps because I'm not familiar with proboards.

Yes. I was hoping it would send me an email that when a bookmarked thread was posted in, but it doesn't. I'm starting to really remember why I don't like proboards. >_>

Nevermind. They aren't as dumb as I thought, it's just a bit hidden. In order to get it so that you get an email when a bookmark is updated, then you need to go to Profile -> Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks
Manage Bookmarks should be at the top-right corner of the blue portion of the bookmarks window, after that you need to set a default notification option.
I'm going to suggest that each author here make a thread for people to bookmark where they can post when they update their story so that people can then know there's an update.

This is going to be a stupid question, I'm sure, but I came to here off of the FF boards and I can't find the fics at all. I remember this forum used to have the fics and the reviews/responses in the same subforum (still different categories, however). Now all I can see in those subforums is the response threads.
At first I thought you had to be a member to see them, but I'm a member now and I still can't see the story forums, so I'm assuming they're just not there any more.
One of the stickies says that RtB fics have been disallowed here as well, so does that mean all of these fics are totally gone and lost forever?

It's not a stupid question, knownunkown. Someone reported the stories to proboards, and they in turn then asked us to delete the fics. We decided to instead just having the entire board shut down, to sacrifice the fics, so we could still have the fabulous community.
If you want to read a RtB fic, you have to ask the author of the fic, or just check if the author has a mailing-list or if they have posted it somewhere else. If there's nothing, and the author doesn't want it, then I'm afraid it's gone 'and lost forever', as you put it.
