I am currently in the middle of an idea about writing a reading the story.
My idea so far set in 4th year about a week after the champions have been named it will be a fem harry story and her name will be Dorea James Andromeda Potter She will have a strong sibling relationship with Cedric Diggory
Not sure if i want to pair her with William or Charles Weasley.
What do you think so far. I am open to ideas Email me emziiee90@hotmail.co.uk

I'm sorry, but I don't read female Harry stories. Just not my cup of tea.

Same, Female harry always annoyed me. It changed the whole dynamic of the story- Whata bout all the times Harry and Ron talked in the dormitory at night? That couldn't happen if he slept with Hermione! To me, it just seems to be a way around gay couples- which I much prefer over turning Harry into a girl.

Yeah, I don't generally read female Harry stories, though there are some that seem to start off fairly reasonable, though I don't know how the authors will get around the fact that Harry talked with Ron in the dorm.
I much prefer slash stories with Harry being a bloke rather than het stories where he's a girl.

I completely agree with Nahara and physicssquid. Harry is a boy making him a girl just ruins the whole dynamic of the story. If you like the idea of Harry with another guy then don't be afraid to slash the story.

Indeed, I'd prefer slash. (Save Harry with Snape or Malfoy - ugh!) Actually, I started my foray into the world of fanfiction nearly ten years ago with slash - and I am still of the opinion that some of these slash writers are among the best authors I have ever read in the world of fanfiction. Though that was admittedly in the LotR fandom, not HP.

There it shows that the LotR fandom is on average older than the HP one, and then I had the luck to find the right people. There are some who can write a drabble - and a real drabble of exactly 100 words, not what many authors at FFN pass off as drabble, but what is rather an one-shot - and tell more in it than many others in 1000 words. It always amazed me how they did that. Plus, some are very skilled language-wise. That's always something enjoyable to read. With them, the story is great, no matter if it's a drabble, a smaller story or a novel-sized one, if it's slash, het or whatever. They're probably the reason why I never could stop reading fanfiction - and why I always complain about FFN.
