I like HP crossed over with LotR (but HP so wins over LotR Kitty ;D ) unfortunately only one out of the many dozens I liked was ever finished and yet I still keep going back and starting new stories even though I know there isn't a chance in hell of them ever being finished I also like HP crossed over with Stargate SG-1 Buffy/Angel NCIS/LA Twilight (I don't really know anything about canon but I love seeing Harry with the fanon characters in Forks) I wish there were more HP/Labrynth stories that had Harry running the Labrynth unfortunately there are very very few with that crossover and mostly all of them with a character other then Harry in the labrynth. As far as spanking abused children, I don't think it would be a good idea in real life especially in the early stages of family development since any trust established (if any) with the new guardians would be fragile at best. In the long term I guess it would depend on the child and most definitely not for something as stupid as the above story's reasoning. Really I don't know if an abused child would ever be able to understand the difference between abuse and discipline and for the child's mental well being it would be best not to spank the child. When it comes to fiction however I don't think there is anything wrong with it and is perfectly appropriate especially if it's for something like putting their life in danger or deliberately disobeying a rule. It really all depends on how the author writes it, I avoid the stories that start spanking for every little thing and have Harry, or whichever character, acting like a complete insensitive brat just so they have an excuse to put more spanking in the story. I also don't like crawford's story, her reasoning behind spanking is completely messed up as well as what she has Harry being spanked for, the way she writes it it isn't discipline it's abuse and if that is how she was raised I feel sorry for her. She sounds like she has been brainwashed and is trying to brainwash her readers. I also ran across a completely disturbing and sickening story where the author didn't seem to know the difference between an erotic spanking between adults and a discipline spanking between a parent and child. That quickly got the back button and I seriously considered reporting it, am still considering honestly but I've never reported a story before.

Nonono, you are so wrong - LotR is the best ;D I'm not surprised that so few crossovers are finished, these two worlds are hard to mix believable, IMO. Or maybe my problem is that I've been reading too many LotR fics and can't stand mixing anything into this world, who knows?
Completely agree with you about what you said about spanking in RL, though that for me goes into fiction as well. (Though I'd be inclined to make an exception for some hand-picked individuals like Dudley when he throws these tantrums ...)
That latter story sounds really bad, but sadly, some people can't differentiate between anything, it seems. Certainly not something I'd read!
