Does anyone know how to make a website like Fanfiction.net? (Completely from scratch, I'm not looking for host websites.) I've always been interested in making a website, so I decided I want to make a fanfiction-esque site that is RTB friendly. (I'll probably block it from Search engines and make it a sort of invite-only kind of thing. Nothing big, so that we don't attract a lot of attention and get in trouble.)
Anyways, I've looked everywhere for learning to create websites. But it's all based on hosts, or not friendly to allowing others to submit stories. They're all catered toward blogs type of websites.
Perhaps I'll head to the library tomorrow...

The easiest way to go about this is to take an already existing CMS (Content Management System) - they are usually for free - and then make some changes to fit it to your purpose. You don't need to start with Wordpress or Joomla, since there are already CMS more useable for your purpose: - EFiction- PHP Fan FictionIf you're interested in some more, here's a list of open source CMS: www.opensourcecms.com/scripts/show.php?pagenumber=1&catid=1
