Is it me but have ff.net changed their codings again - different fonts and size? If it is me, then there's something wrong with my computer.
Thanks

Yes, they have, and it is really annoying. And I'd only just got used to what they were using before they changed it. Now it's going to take me weeks to get used to the new style.

I don't think I will be able to get used to it, I've only been on the site for 5 minutes and its already given me a headache. I know the phone version updated a while ago but we could change it back, I wish we could so that for the online version.

It is annoying.
So has anyone actually ever had any site update that didn't make things worse because I can't think of one on any site that hasn't annoyed the hell out of me.

I don't know ... the changes in the design are something I will have to get used to. But I actually like the new font. Though that might be because they switched to my favourite one

Oh I like the font just not the size or the gaps width- there is none.

One good thing is that the font is slightly bigger and easier to read. I agree, it will definately take a while to get used to, especially at the end of the page.

You can alter the size and gaps in the chapters at the top just under the author and story info box as well as the font.

unbeastly thanks for that. Couldn't see as I have the background dark. I usually suffer from migraines and it helps cut the contrast down.

I like the font, but have to say I don't like how the layout goes at the bottom on my iPad, it's a little strange!

Has anyone noticed that the search results lists have become really disorganised lately?
I like to have the results listed in order of when they were last updated, so that any story that has been updated most recently is right at the top, but for the last couple of days, the order hasn't changed, despite the fact that stories have been updated recently.

Just tried it out and searched for something. When the list showed up, it was most definitely not the newest at the top, so I looked further. Above the result list are the boxes for search (box), search and options. When I clicked on options, I realised it showed the results by relevance. So I chose the 'sort result by update date' choice and hit the 'search' button again. And voilà - this time it was right!
You might want to try this, too.

I already had told it to sort by update date. That's what my problem is, the fact that the results had one that was two days old at the top, despite the fact that other stories on the list had been updated more recently.

Did you hit the 'search'button again after chosing that? If so, then I really don't know. What did you search? Maybe I can see if it works for me, so we might be able to tell if it's the site itself or maybe something with your computer?
Oh, did you try emptying the cache? Maybe your PC mostly shows the old version from the cache instead of the new one? I've had such a problem before.

My search was just; 'reading the books', and yes I did hit the search button again.
I have just cleared the cache, and nothing has changed, so maybe there is a problem with the site.

*goes testing again* For me it basically works, but some fics don't sort correctly, with or without limitation to the HP fandom. That's a problem I had one or two years ago with them, too, and back then FFN had done some stuff and that caused the chaos. It was resolved after some time. So I just had a look at the main page, obviously they did something again, plus have problems with network attacks, so that might explain it. As I don't feel like digging the RtBs out ouf the amount of new stories, I've started to use communities to find new stories of that type. My old favourite, because the biggest, was Cwam. That one seems to have been abandoned after the purge started, so I now have two others to use for that purpose: Anniriel and 19811945. They do the search for me
