So what have you liked/disliked/hated that the producers of the movies have left-out/added? I hate that they burnt down the Burrow in the 6th, and the botched snape's pensive scene OotP, among other things. I also dislike how they down played Ron's role. I liked the lines that Dobby had in DH and McGonagall's funny lines in DH. How about you guys?

I hate that they burned the Burrow as well, actually I can't stand that part and fast forward through it when I watch the movie and that they downplayed Ron's role. I also hate that they made it Hermione's idea instead of Harry's to free the dragon and ride it out of the bank. There are a lot more that I love and hate but I'm exhausted right now and can't think straight so I will comment more on this thread later.
Night all.

They made saving Buckbeak in PoA Hermione's idea as well as a few others if I'm remembering right.

I hated the scene where the Burrow burnt down. I didn't see the point in adding it, especially since they needed the Burrow for the wedding at the beginning of book seven.
I also didn't get why they had the trio landing in the middle of the road when they left the wedding, and why on earth did they have Harry throw himself and Voldemort off the tower during the final battle?
Plus, the scene where Voldemort said that Harry was dead. I didn't particularly like the fact that they didn't have the Sortin Hat set on fire. That whole scene was better in the book, imo, and Neville didn't need to give a whole speech to prove that he truly belonged in Gryffindor, just telling Voldemort that he would join the Death Eaters when Hell froze over was enough. There were other problems with the final battle scene, imo, the Malfoys didn't run away half-way through, they were still there at the end, and even though they didn't have any lines in the book, I always imagined Harry going and thanking Narcissa for lying to Voldemort in the forest.

I was always a little disappointed with the scene where Harry defeats Voldemort, because I'd always thought it was perfect how it was written in the great hall with everyone there afterwards. I understand that it was probably more cinematic, I just loved how it happened in the book and it was a shame they changed it- the fact that everyone was there, the house elves and centaurs came in to help, the teachers were duelling Voldemort before Harry stepped in...
I was also a little shocked when he broke the elder wand without fixing his own wand first.

Yeah, that whole final battle, in the film, it was far more cinematic, but it didn't hold as much meaning as it did in the book.

Oh, I almost forgot the most awkward hug of the century. I felt the whole courtyard scene was poorly done. I agree with squid about Neville. As for the wand...that was poor planing on their part.

I did not like how they left out alot of the class time and the spell practising time is GOF, I would of loved to see alittle bit of Harry and Hermione bonding, as brother and sister, while they where practising the accio spell in the unused class rooms and McGonagall walking in on them all while Ron and Hermione where helping Harry prepair for the last challange.
I did not like how they put Harrys whole 'You don't know what it is like to face him' speech he yelled to Ron and Hermione in book 5 at the Hogs head in front of a bunch of people, insted of in the Common room just to Ron and Hermione and I think he really needed to yell it not just rase his voice a little bit imo.
