The Death Eaters

Does anyone know how many Death Eaters were in the so-called Inner Circle, and if so, which ones?

I'm curious about how many of the eleven that were caught at the end of OotP, were Inner Circle, and how many were left in the Inner Circle after they were captured.

Here's a quote from HP lexicon: 'those who Apparate to Voldemort's side when the Dark Mark on their arms summons them may be the inner circle of his strongest supporters only'

And in goblet of fire voldemort referred to the wizards that came to the graveyard as his family who then formed a 'circle' around him. I don't think he would have considered anyone but his inner circle to be his so-called family.

So I'd say the inner circle would be: Avery, Lucius, Snape (one who left him forever), Lestranges, Macnair, Crabbe, Goyle, Nott, Karkaroff (the one to cowardly to return), Crouch Jr. (the one who already reentered my service) and three more of the inner circle dead in his service. page 648-651 GoF.

Rosier was one of the earliest death eaters so he might be one of the three dead voldemort mentioned, Wilkes might be another.

Oh, you mean Macnair? I'm pretty sure we can add Travers, Avery, Yaxley, Crabbe and Goyle Sr, Rowle, Dolohov and Rookwood as well. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head...

In 'Priori Incantatem' it is mentioned that Harry was outnumbered at least thirty to one in that graveyard; there have to be more Death Eaters than only the ones who were named, and it is said that Moldyshorts just passed some of them. So I guess we can assume there are a few we don't know about.
