I was talking to a friend about film adaptations of books - the good, the bad and the plain unrecognisable, and what books we would like to see adapted in the future. Eventually we got into a discussion about fanfics and which ones we would like to see on the big screen, my vote was for Bella Swan: Kidnapper by Kambria Rain. Yes it's a Twilight fic but the only thing it has in common with it are the names, it is also hands down one of the funnies stories I've ever read and would be perfect on film. So are there any Fanfics you would like to see on the big screen, or any books? |

I can think of several: A Second Chance by rednekS; Harry Potter: Wizards at War, also by rednekS; Harry Potter and the Children of Change by T.E.Tanglebrooke; Harry Potter: Blessed by Fates by FrankieSpitfire; and many others.

Actually, I have been regretting many times that some of my favourite LotR stories can't be filmed. To have a movie of 'Tad Edhel a Firion' and 'Elf Interrupted' by Fiondil, of 'The King's Commission' and 'Lesser Ring' by Larner, and so many others ... *sighs dreamily*
From HP ... right now Isilarma's 'Strange visitors from another century' comes to mind, which is not finished yet, but very promising. And generally some of these where Harry grows a backbone and stops dancing to Dumbledore's tune.

Oh. Then I'd really have to search for the few that are canon pairings. Personally, I am not much of a fan of them and rather read other ones. (Within reason, mind you!)

I don't mind if it's Neville/Luna instead of Neville/Hannah (though I prefer the latter) but major canon parings like Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione have to be there UNLESS they are too young for that sort of thing (obviously)

See, and I never got these two pairings. Why would Harry, who hates his fame, marry the No. 1 BWL fangirl? Besides, that pairing bores me. And why would studious, overachieving Hermione marry someone as lazy as Ron? To me, Ron and Hermione being at each others throats all the time does NOT mean they are in love, so that's not an argument to me, either. The things particularly Ron said were way too hurtful. So, I seldom read that sort of fic.

Yeah, the pairings are down to taste in the end - and that is something you can't argue about.

Originally, I wasn't so sure about it (especially Mockingjay) but they're ok. The only reason I clicked on them was because the author had written some really good HP stories
