I believe Rowling decided to do Pottermore instead as it gives the encyclopedic content in a more interactive fashion.

Probably, but to be honest, I'd have prefered the encyclopedia big time. I dodn't want an interactive website where I am forced to sign up, get a name not of my chosing, and have to play my way to information - or at least that's my impression from the bit I have heard about the site, as I refuse to sign up there. I want a place where I can check details quickly without wasting my time.

She said about two years ago that the encyclopaedia is still in progress, and that was after Pottermore so I'm hoping its still a thing.

Kitty, I know what you mean. Pottermore was alright, and it was good that I now know my house and everything, but it was really for the information that I signed up. I just go here now instead, they post all of the information as soon as it comes up so you don't have to go hunting:

It's genius, I love that site so much! So much quicker, and you don't have to go hunting back through the site to reread info.
