I'm not that surprised, to be honest. From what I can tell, whoever was responsible for the site published lots of stories there without the knowledge and consent of the authors, which is at best questionable and downright illegal at worst, even if it's just fanfiction. So I wouldn't be too surprised if the webspace owner kicked them out after complaints or something like that.

What has the lease to do with a website not being available? Normally you pay the lease and that's it. Do you say they never pay until the server owner shuts them down?

Its never been taken down. They still archive harry potter fanfics. And that's all that they did. They never claimed to have owned them.

Damn is the website gone now? I mean I was enjoying a Fanfic called Reading the AJ Potter series and I could only read it on here the author decided to post it to here lol what to do now the site is shut down?  |

Honestly it’s still not up, I want to read some fics on this site so badly but it’s still down, pretty sure I’ve never seen it up. Smh

Same here. Might have worked once when I tried in the early days, but I haven't been able to access a single story there for years. I suspect they got in trouble not just for RtB stories, but for publishing stories without author consent, too.
