So Percy Jackson, the Hobbit and Game of Thrones all have topics to discuss them. So, here is the place where we can yak about the amazing Hunger Game series.
What was your favorite part in the books?

The infamous berries, all the way. Pure genius and the reason you never, ever pin someone into a corner.

Read the first book recently and thought it was pretty good. Only thing I didn't like was how it killed my favorite characters off. Since it looks to be a long summer this year I'll try and finish the trilogy.
Favorite part of the first book had to be the dropping of the hornets nest on the others. Sucky way to die though.

Hmm, well I've only read book 1 and part of book 2 (from fanfiction. it was one of those 'read' books) and I agree the berries were pure genius. However, so was what Haymitch did in his game. District 12 seems to be good at outsmarting the capitol. lmao. Hmm, as far as favorite characters I like prim and rue. They're so cute. Then I love Haymitch. I'm not exactly sure why though.

Book three seemed a bit chaotic in how it was written but I still love the series fav parts are pita's interviews before the games. Always has something surprising to bring:)

I love the first book to pieces. I just love Katniss, Rue, Thresh, Peeta, and even Foxface. With as much as I really enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd book, I don't think they could have topped the first. Maybe because of the quickness in which everything happened I never truly felt bored and never wanted to put the book down. Wheres with the others there were those slow periods that made it hard for me not to stop. Then again, many of my friends found the 2nd book to be the best, so I almost feel like the only one with this opinion.

I do agree that the first book was the best. Generally, that's how things work in series, but I really liked all three of them. I laughed, cried, and nearly threw the book at times (I couldn't since it was a friend's). I think my favorite characters were Rue, Peeta, Prim, and Finnick.

He is such a great character! Johanna went up on my list in the third book. Beetee is one of my favs too!

Is there others that think of Pita Bread when you hear the name Peeta or am I alone in this?

My favorite part is when Katniss finds out Peeta was captured and attacks Haymitch

Is there others that think of Pita Bread when you hear the name Peeta or am I alone in this? That and the fact that he's the baker's son... Lovely play on words there

I first tried to read the first book a year or two ago, and couldn't get into it. I saw The Hunger Games opening weekend, and loved the movie. I got all three books on Wednesday, and finished them in less then a week.
I always did find it funny and ironic Peeta is a bakers son, and named after bread. I like Rue, Prim, Peeta, Haymitch, Johanna, and Finnick. The last book made me strongly dislike Gale. I felt as if he betrayed Katniss.
