Any fans of Doctor Who on here? Favorite Doctor? Favorite Companion? Classic series or New series?

I haven't watched anything classic, so I would say 10 and Donna, but I do like 11 and Amy and Rory.

I've been a fan for about a year-and-a-half and have seen all the New Who episodes. Out of those, I'd say my favorite Doctor is 10 and my favorite companion is Rose.
As for classic, which I've seen a decent amount of, I really like the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane is a great companion.

Personally, I like the 6th Doctor - possibly because of the discrepancies between his colourful outfit and his bad guy attitude. But I'm still a great fan of the 3rd Doctor era. Mostly because of the Brigadier. That was a great character. And the Master of that era was cool, too. I'm in two minds about the New Series. On the one hand they had some really great episodes ( Midnight comes to mind). On the other hand though, the whole hyperactive Doctor/Master thing has really started to go on my nerves. Whatever happened to "changing his character completely during a regeneration" If I had to choose from the New Version though, I guess my favourites would be the 9th Doctor (dunno why) and Rory. I hated River. But Rory was cool. (However, my absolutely most favourite characters from the whole merchandise are Benny Summerfield and Brax. You just gotta love them.) ;D

I used to love Doctor Who when it was 10, but I lost it a bit when 11 came in. All the 10 companions were great.

I've only seen it sporadically since I don't often watch TV, but I think the 11th Doctor is just adorable. I want to pinch his cheeks!
Don't really care about any of the companions. ;D

I can't choose one of the Doctors, they essentially the same person, so I like them all. As for companions... Well, it must be 51st centuries pheromones, but I like Captain Jack. And Torchwood. And Ianto. Oh, Ianto...

*snickers* I definitely love Captain Jack. I've met him 3 times and had a picture with him, along with Eve Myles and, yes, Ianto.

I actually refused to watch Torchwood when it first came out because I didn't think it would do any good but when all my friends were giving each other roles in the team I decided to watch it and fell in love. Gwen is brilliant. I miss Owen and Toshiko though.

Oh boy, this is a hard choice. I was first introduced to DW by watching an old episode involving the Fifth Doctor but I didn't really become a fan until watching the rebirth of the show with the Ninth Doctor. I really enjoyed how the Ninth Doctor's character grew on me until the season ended with his regeneration. Companion wise I would have to go with Amy and Rory since they balance out the Eleventh Doctors character.
I also enjoyed watching the old episodes involving the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith. The Fouth incarnation just seemed the most alien out of all the other doctors, you know?

My favourite has to be the Tenth Doctor. David Tennant just captured him perfectly, especially changing from joking around to deadly serious in the blink of an eye. It took me a while to warm up to Matt Smith afterwards, but I have to admit that he is pretty awesome. I didn't like some of the episodes in the last series though.
Donna and Rory have been my favourite companions so far. I like all of them, but those two were just so different from the others that they really made an impact.
That said, I do have a soft spot for Tom Baker. He was amazing. I haven't seen much of the classic episodes, so i can't really comment on the others.

I love Doctor Who, both old and new. 10th was my favorite Doctor with the 4th Doctor second, but for companions I'd have to say Romana 2 and Sarah Jane Smith tie.
I've seen as much as I could find of the old series and I love it! I watch the new ones once they come out on BBC America or if we don't have TV access at the time I find them some other way.

I know that this is a bit random, but didn't they find 100 "lost" episodes of Doctor Who? I think it was between the 2nd and 3rd incarnations but I'm not sure.

I've never heard about that but then I've never seen the old series so I don't much care about them.
What's your favourite episode/creature? I loved the weeping angel episode. Creepy as heck. but the Daleks are obviously the overall favourite.

I personally like the Cybermen. My good friend, who is also a Whovian, and I both think that they're the scariest monster mainly because they used to be human. The whole idea of their emotions being forced out of them and only having the wish to destroy left in them is downright scary.
The Weeping Angels are definitely some of the more intense monsters and I'm looking forward to their return this season. As for the Daleks, they're interesting and on the scary side at points, but they also seem to be quite easy to defeat the majority of the time.
As for favourite episode, that's tough. I really have enjoyed the majority of Steven Moffat's ones, especially the ones from the first four seasons. I think my all-time favourite is the two-parter The End of Time.

Weeping Angels all the way. my first thought see them was that this was not going to go well. It also sucks that they can come alive from a photo taken of them.
I also liked the Vashta Nerada from the Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead episodes. I was extremely creeped out by these beasties. Just think, you walk into a shadow and slowly get devoured without knowing it.

Seriously? I thought that was the worst of all... all wonky plotting. My favourite is still Midnight. It had great writing, pacing, and timing. I also liked The Eleventh Hour. As an introductory episode it worked much better than Smith&Jones. My favourite monsters are also the Cybermen. Those are scary. But the most favourite bad guy for me is still The Celestial Toymaker. Somehow he scares me more than the Master ever did. If you loose the Toymaker's game he doesn't just kill you messily, no, he takes your soul and stuffs it into one of his toys, and uses you to do the same thing with your friends, and there's no way to get out - for the rest of eternity (!). I'd take a messy death at the Master's hands any time... (By the way) Most beloved "bad guy" of all time is definitely Mortimus (aka The Meddling Monk). He retaliated for the Doctor stranding him in 1066 by stuffing a chewing gum into the doorlock of the Doctor's TARDIS... That deserves an honorable mention, doesn't it.

Blink, probably one of my favorite episodes. I'll never look at an angel statue the same way again.

lol that's the weeping angels. And the same for me, I got creeped out by them for a month after I first saw that episode.

Talking about Blink, it was really bad for one of my friends after seeing it because there is an angel statuette on her front porch. I too tend to look over my shoulder at angel statues when I see them, just to make certain that they didn't move.

I didn't really like the 9th one. He was a bit too serious for my liking.
One episode I love (don't know the titlw of them) is the one with the Master when he super-ages the Doctor so much that he looked like a house elf.

Hahaha, I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on that! David is best looking, although I would put Matt at a close second.

Yes he was a bit on the serious side but he had his moments here or there. I do think that David Tennant did a very good job at making Doctor Who a big hit again. Hell, I was extremely let down that he left the show after 3 series and 8 or so specials. Matt Smith's portrayal took a while to stick to me but I defintely enjoy the 11th Doctor now.I'm kind of put out that Amy and Rory are may be leaving in the next series, but to each their won.

Yea. Amy and Rory, I'm going to miss them when they're gone (ESPECIALLY RORY! D:), but I am ready for a different companion. Have any of you seen the new pictures released of the new companion?
