I think my sister and I actually cried when he left the series. He kind of WAS the Doctor for me.
Matt Smith caught me with the fishfingers and custard. I tried it... and liked it. Wish Amy and Rory would stay longer too. Would like for Donna would make another appearance too.

Yeah, I know what your talking about. That was in the Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords three-parter.
As for nine, I think the reason he's so serious is because it was that incarnation which was involved in the Time War. That one, and probably eight, which we don't know much about.
Ten is also a fairly serious Doctor and often acts like the weight of the world is on his shoulders, but he knows when to have fun, which is why I like him.

Yeah, I've been browsing a bunch of the 11th doctor fics and has anyone else notice that their are a good amount that sort of bash Rory? I don't understand why but it seems to be a theme to make him out to be a jealous ass or an idiot. It also seems to be a main theme in some of the 11th/Amy stories on the site.

Seriously, how many guys can keep coming back to life? Rory is one of my favourite companions, though I don't think anyone will ever be able to top Rose.
As for pairings, I'm a huge fan of 10/Rose and 11/River.

I loved Rose, she was my favorite for awhile, but I think that all of the companions become a favorite of mine at some point. Rory is definitely at that #1 spot for me! I don't know if that will change with the new companion though...He'll be hard to beat! I love both of those pairings too!

I think that the only companion that I was least fond of was Martha. I tend to forget about all the episode with her in it for some strange reason. Sure I liked her in the earlier episodes but there was something missing. It's like she faded into the background after the initial 6 episodes.

Awww, I love Martha. I don't think she gets enough credit! I loved her in Torchwood!

Awww, I love Martha. I don't think she gets enough credit! I loved her in Torchwood! I think it was because I kept comparing her to Rose and it made her character fade away to me. I am still a bit sad about Rose leaving the show. She and the 10th Doctor were made for one another.

I know what you mean, that's how I felt about Martha at first, just a replacement for Rose. I feel sorry for Martha in a way.

I feel sorry for her too. I especially felt bad for her after she basically said that she loved the Doctor and he was still longing for Rose. It just seemed like a tough break for her.

It was. I find it fitting that Martha and Mickey ended up together...

i have to say that Matt Smith is my favourite doctor though i love David Tennant, Matt's doctor is the bonkers doctor and seems so much more alien than David's who i think is more humanish if that makes sense as for companions i have to say River Song is my favourite but i like most of the new companions (Jack, Amy and Rory are the best)...i dont really like Rose though...

I think Rose was most memorable simply because she was in it from the start and is sort of the one who everyone knows, even if they haven't seen the series.
Martha...I don't remember ANY of the episodes she was in, whether that's because I didn't like her much or because they're the ones I've seen the least I don't know. Oh wait...Was she on the moon in the hospital? That's the only one I remember.
Rory is brilliant and needs more love. I didn't like Amy at first because she treated him quite badly but it's all cool now. Like the both. I like River, but I preferred her more when she was first in it to how she is now.

Has anyone else read the fics by Lumendea on ff.net? I have been reading her five AU Doctor Who series' and they have been pretty cool. Some of her older fics are a little rough around the edges but they are still enjoyable. Heres a link to hher profile for anyone interested: www.fanfiction.net/u/100310/Lumendea

Personally, I adore "A Murderous Feast": www.fanfiction.net/s/5886032/1/A_Murderous_FeastIt's part of an AU starting of after End of Time, with the Doctor, the Master and Wilf in ancient Rome. It's very well written and managed to be hilarious, intriguing and very in character, too. The AU is made up of the stories: - A Silent Mind - Judoon Justice - A Murderous Feast - Shattered Worlds - Before Harry met Lucy - The Most Happy Bride - This Reflection of Me All centering more or less around the Master, Rassilon and the returning of the drums.

I'm definiatly a New Who fan, mostly because it's difficult to get ahold of Classic. Although I found it in a totally bass akward way. It all started with a Buffy/Torchwood fic, then Jack/Ianto fics which lead to finding Torchwood episodes. Then I found out it was a spinoff, which lead to finding Doctor Who. But even though I started with 9&Rose, 10 is my favorite Doctor & Donna is the best companion. Tenant did an incredible job with the angry scenes. I would be terrified if he looked at me like that. But it was also freaking sexy, IMO. Donna was just so.... Donna. She seemed tohold him more... accountable for his actions than the others did. Rose adored the Doctor, Martha was Rose-Replacment, and Amy, well she comes closest to Donna, but I think she is just another replacement. River drives me crazy, along with Matt. Rory is kinda awesome too. [color=[/color]

This... Even when the spittle was flying he still managed to stay pretty there aren't many who can pull that off.
Has anyone actually seen the Catherine Tate Show (Donna's actress)? The Nan and Lauren are hilarious!

It's been quite a while since I last watched the Catherine Tate Show, but I agree with you. The two-facedness of the Nan character, the way she'd act so sweet to people's faces then go into a rant about them as soon as they left was hilarious. And Lauren's "Am I bothered?" routines were always funny.

Don't remember that one - but like I said, it's been quite a while - literally years, in fact, now that I think about it - since I watched it, and I only have vague memories of it now. Remember there was one where Lauren said something was "bing, bing", seeing her try to claim to her friends that their teasing didn't bother her was funny. Might try and see if there are any episodes online later, refresh my memory a bit.

Wish Catherine Tate would come back to Doctor Who for another Series. It would be cool to see how they made it work.

It would be interesting, but they'd have to figure out a way of avoiding a brain explosion for her.
Talking about brain explosions, how many of you had a near one with the series? I loved it, but I did get really confused at points.

I got confused with the whole meeting each other at the wrong time thing with River and the Doctor. And with the whle "who sent the invites, did he die?" thing.

I really, really dislike River. I'm nearly 100% certain that the Doctor only hooked up with her because of some weird inferiority complex based on Benny dropping him for his brother. So, he just had to go and find his own time-traveling hot-looking archeologist from the future. Just because, you know. (It probably didn't help that Brax was always better than the Doctor at everything.) It's a very good thing that those series seem to have spilt permanently now. Otherwise Sarah Jane might have pointed that out to him. And I don't think the Doctor would ever live it down should Braxiatel meet River. Come to think of it, that has quite a lot of fanfiction potential: River visiting the Collection for some incredibly important archeological reason and getting confronted with all the insanity that is the Braxiatel Collection and its inhabitants...
