An idea I've had

I've been kicking this idea around for about a week now though I won't start it for a little while given work, my life, running this site, and updating Hells Bells and For a Better Future.

Essentially the members of the DA still at Hogwarts during April of 1998 will be reading the Deathly Hallows in the Room of Requirement. Since Ginny is at Aunt Muriel's and Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna and Dean at Shell Cottage, they will not be in the fic. Neither will the students who have already graduated

I will be adding students who are in the book series but whom JKR never went into any detail about such as Lisa Turpin, Morag MacDougal and Leanne (whom I will name Leanne Sheffield as a nod to my Hells Bell fic). The goal of this series is to get a look at the "other" students, so to speak. We will take a look at their thoughts as they catch up with what Harry, Ron, and Hermione have been doing all year, their thoughts on the Trio in general, the "other" students own personal relationships and their experiences at Hogwarts and during their Seventh Year. Since they will be reading the entire book, they will also have the opportunity to help the Trio and everyone with finding the last Horcrux and possibly saving lives such as Fred's, Remus and Tonks. (emphasis on the possibly)

I do believe that that is a grand idea, PointGiven. I like the idea of your using such a fic to get more in depth with the other students. Having read your For A Better Future fic, I'm sure you'll pull it together marveously!

i think that it's a great idea!
but try not to take on to many projects at once. that's going to be a lot of work. and if you're already going to be doing a Deathly Hallows book for a Better Future, then that might become confusing after awhile.
but if you do, i'll be the first to read it

Might I suggest adding Aberforth? After all, he's the one that supplies their food, since the RoR can't so it due to Gamp's Law. They're bound to get hungry at some point.

Also, maybe adding Poppy, to treat those who had to endure the Carrows?

Aberforth will be in the story but he won't be reading. I don't know how interested he would be, and he has responsibilities to his bar and making sure the Death Eaters don't trash Hogsmeade. I can see the students going to the bar to talk to him about his and Albus' life though.

Also Pomfrey will have her hands full with the kids who are still attending classes so she can't just pack off for the Room of Requirement.

The ghosts will be mentioned in the fic and you might get to see them, but they won't be reading as well.

I like the sound of this story - I'm up to my eyes in exam marking at the mo with 170 script to mark before Monday and I've already marked that many so have had little online time. Just dipped in here and there so it's good to have the thought of this sight to sustain me and the reassurance that gifted writers are getting brilliant ideas and writing their stories so that I have a bumper reward for all my hard work woooooooooo!

Sorry if this makes little sense but I'm stuck in groundhog day - alarm goes off, get dressed, eat breakfast, go to work, be abused by kids, drive home, have a cupper, mark until very late go to bed, alarm goes off etc etc repeat anon until after 18th June.

Glad I have this site to come back to to relax - will look forward to your new story :-)

Really cool idea, I hope we get to see how some of the other people, who Rowling didn't give us much info on, actually care for Harry, Ron, and Hermione, since they were the original DA leaders

I really like this idea. But what would be really cool if there was a way that the DA could get a visual on what was happening to the trio, almost like a pensieve in a way.
