Okay I had another idea that can be done in a couple different ways. It is a Crossover idea as just a Warning. If you have a question I will try to answer it.

Style Notes: Extensively written given the idea, it will not be something you can just place Character comments with the reading... It may or may not be a RtB, I leave that to you but there Must be a telling of Harry's history in some form. May use Cannon or AU Cannon. Crossover, Harry Potter and The Mummy/ The Mummy Returns. Must be more then just a RtB, should have a deeper plot then just the reading.
Readers: Harry Potter, The Mummy/ The Mummy Returns Characters
Books: 1 thru 7, and the Movies for The Mummy/ The Mummy Returns
Other Characters: May add others but not to many as Time Travel will be key component.
Pairings: Harry/??, Rick/Evy May be Slash or Het with OFC. Though I would love to see a Harry/Ardeth story.
Plot: This is a complex idea that can be played out a number of ways, which I leave up to you authors. But you do need a basis eh? So Harry's timeline is after the Second Wizarding War so after school and in that 19 year time frame. Harry is or was an Auror, but retires/quits once everything is running smoothly without his help. So he can now pursue his own life, not easy but he does succeed in doing so. He then goes about expanding his education well beyond what he had. His new learning goes into the other fields such as Arthmacey, Ancient Runes, History and of course Potions, and Warding while using a tutor to learn. But that is not all, he also got into learning Muggle classes that coincide with Magical lessons like Archaeology, becoming fascinated with Egyptian history, both Muggle and Magical. I figure a few years say 6 years after the war, things could get to this point in learning, while not a master in the arts he could very well off in the knowledge. He could go into the Cursebreaker/Archaeology field, maybe working with Gringotts like Bill. Or have it be more a extensive Hobby...
Now how Harry ends up in the past, is pretty much up to you, same as what time frame for the Mummy crew is up to you, but might be best to be between the two movies. There is a lot of play in what you can do with the story. Harry is the Master of Death though, so lots to play there. Also Harry needs to have a Medjai Tattoo like Rick's though not in the same spot most likely, so not as easily seen or noticed.
Love interest, well not a big part the story but would like him to find love in some form while in the past as no way to return to the future, least not till late in the story towards the end, then could save room for a sequel.
