This is amazing! We are up to 1000 members in less than a month. This site (and others like it) has (have) become a sanctuary (sanctuaries) in this literary genocide known as The Purge. I look forward to seeing the membership here (and other sites like it) continue to grow, and I cannot wait for more authors to post their stories here. Although I have never written my own story, I love “Read by Character” stories; they are the reason I started reading fanfiction in the first place. When the purge started, I was horrified. My favorite stories were being deleted right before my eyes, and I could do nothing to stop. Some authors with deleted stories will never re-posted; no one new will ever read these great stories again. It is truly a shame. Reading “Read by Character” stories is my stress-relief. I know it is an odd stress-relief, but it keeps me sane . . . Needless to say, I am very happy I can still find them elsewhere. I hope more and more people will feel inclined to start and/or continue writing “Read by Character” stories. Because (now) there are places that people can to post without fear of deletion, I hope that this motivates people to write new interpretation of this genre, and I hope my favorite stories will be continued and completed. I thank you Point Given and the many other people, (I do not know you all, but you know who you are.) who played a role in creating these safe havens, sending authors to these types of sites, or warning the authors of the purge . . . I thank all the authors, who are continuing to write and post your wonderful stories anyway/everywhere you can. As a fanfiction reader, more importantly as a “Read by Character” reader, I love you just a little bit! ;D I thought I would show my thanks to this site. I do tend to rant quite frequently it would seem . . . words always did seem to run away from me. |

It's pretty amazing, isn't it? ;D When I joined (not even a week ago) there were about 400 members. And now... nickywho brought us to 1.000! I thought I'd point that out. Welcome, nickywho, Member #1.000! I'm looking forward to see how this community will develop in the coming months.  |

Well said, Rebel! I think you are speaking for most, if not all people here, and I certainly want to back up what you said: Thank you so much, Point Given, for giving us this lovely playground, and for everyone else who makes staying here worthwile. Personally, I am happy that Point Given's attempt to give us this sanctuary was so well-received and successful. Have I to mention that I already spend way too much time here because it's so much fun?

Well said everybody! If I wasn't following non-characters reading the books on fanfiction, I would have closed my account. This site is way cooler. I love the debates people get into. Here's hoping there's a 1000 more members.

Many thanks from me as well Point Given for giving me this safe haven to meet and talk with my fellow authors and read their stories that were deleted on the FFNet.

Darn I had hoped to be able to make the announcement *pouts* oh well.
*goes about dancing happily* Yay for 1,000 members it is rather shocking actually how quick we grew, and good many of them joined other sites as well but that is a lot of people to vacate FF.net, okay yes most of us are still there if not for writing then reading.
Anyways welcome to all our new members and Congrats Nickywho for being our 1,000th member ^^
