But some a bit more than others, probably. Who knows if Molly isn't a bit more influenced than we thought ... O:-)

Lol, it's certainly a possibility. They even talk about it in Prodigy.

Sometimes it is hard to say what is the result of inbreeding and what the result of the absolute lack of common sense and logic.

It is weird to realize all the pure-blood families are related in some way. Harry's related to the Longbottoms, the Bones (are they pure-blood?) the Greengrasses, and so many more. It's strange how Harry only socialized with the Weasleys. It would have been cool if he met Amelia Bones or Andromeda once in a while.

I'm so tempted to wonder about inbreeding in her family, too ... And I'm under the impression that all pure-blood families are inbred. Molly is a Prewett and the Prewetts are also on the Black Family Tree!! It has Molly and Sirius related as cousins by marriage. This doesn't mean that Molly and Arthur marrying is really squick-worthy, but it does pose a question as to why the adult Weasleys never said anything

True, Sirius's aunt married some Ignatius Prewett. I wonder how close Molly is related to that one?

Most like a paternal uncle of Molly's

Yeah, very likely. Still wants to know more. JKR *so* needs to publish an updated version of that family tree! *pouts*

Yeah, when you go back to the first post in this thread, you can see all the reasons why I think she's a bad mother. I always wondered why so many think she's the perfect mother. I think people give Molly a pass since she killed Bellatrix who was going to kill Ginny and mocked Fred right in front of her. Dumb reason but there are several groups on facebook proclaiming how awesome she is

I personally think that a lot of the insecurities in Ron that the horcrux feed on can be related directly back to Molly. If you list everything that the locket Harry and Hermione told Ron then a lot of them are due to how he was treated by his mother.

here is a squick, what if Molly was related to Dumbledore? His Father/ mother could have had a sibling and then if a sister she married into the Prewitts maybe Mollys grandma or great grandma? there is no way to say either way, but it would give him sway over her.

That's something I've never seen done That could fall under something evil Dumbledore would do, or even manipulative. And I can see a totally awesome scene where Harry learns the truth, and then realizes why Molly's been so weird towards him, and then maybe he'd confront Ron or Ginny and they'd act all weird and then explain the truth to him, and there would be a touching scene... *Off day dreaming the possibilities*

*chuckles*
Sorry, I just love fics where Ron and Ginny don't get bashed while Dumbledore is being bashed. Though I don't prefer Dumbledore bashes much either, this board has made me rather neutral towards him. Not so much on Molly though.

It doesn't really bother me on Ron/Ginny/Molly/Dumbledore bashing, but unless the fic isn't extremely dark, I prefer if they don't. Like I can't stand extremely dark fics, and many of those are so dark because Dumbledore is some evil bastard, and Ron is some psycho rapist-murderer.

I'm neutral towards bashing, as long as it's done well. I like Ron/Ginny/Molly/Dumbledore, but I can read stories that bash them. In some ways, Molly is quite good at being a mother, but she is the complete opposite in others. I don't like the way she seems to have very rigid ideas about how long her sons have their hair, nor do I like the way she drags others into her arguments, almost expecting them to agree with her, but I do think she is a good cook, and a formidable dueller.

*snicker* Bashing is fun to read sometimes, if not for the sole purpose of laughing at it.

Some people get so defensive in their bashes. I've read reviews where people demand a character to act a certain way or conform to a certain ideal to fit the mould of their perfect idea of a bash. It always has me wondering what they're thinking ans why they need to complain. And then if thw author decides to redeem a character, they throw a fit. Sometimes I have to check if the most vocal are writers, just to know whether they understand what author's discretion means.

Yeah, that is kind of annoying. I've gotten so much crap via PM's and Skype because their idea of Dumbledore bashing is that he is some evil psycho, instead of simply an old fool who's plans fail constantly, despite the fact that he knows best.

The sad thing is most of them probably don't write I bet. Some people just need to write a few stories to realise that it's their own damn choice how to make things go and to shut up when reviewing other people's work.

Most of them didn't write. If somebody gives me a crap review, I check their profiles. If they haven't written, I immediately ignore it. If they have, I decide if they have a valid point.

Me too in the sense of considering it. Though, I'll generally ignore it if they use text language or bad spelling too. Grammar I'm not too fussy about in a review. Though I generally PM all my reviewers back when I have time. Sometimes it gets into a good debate that gives me something to think about ;D
Or a headache and a reviewer to generally ignore.

Yeah, same. I try to send everyone a PM, even if it's just "Thanks for the review." That's probably why it bugs the crap out of me when someone leaves me a review for every single chapter.
