I just can't wait until I get to a discussion about the blood wards. I'm going to tear Dumbledore in half. Ohhhhhhhhh I like you. I really do. Also, about the whole 'go to the common rooms' thing. HELLO!!!!! Hufflepuff and Slytherin both have common rooms down in the dungeons/basement/sublevels!!!!!!! That's putting literally half the school in mortal peril ... WHEN ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS CLOSE THE BLOODY GREAT HALL DOORS!!!!!

*snorts* Yeah, that happens sometimes. I go back to read something because I remember a since I found hilarious and then realise the writing quality was terrible.

I did that with the story called I'm Not Going. I read it when I first read Fanfiction, and I was like "This is amazing!" And then a year later I re-read it, and I was like "This sucks so bad."

The best thing to do would have been placing everyone in Ravenclaw AND Gryffindor, including the other two houses!

It's an H/Hr story where Harry is beat and left for dead at an orphanage. It was the first Evil/Manipulative Dumbledore story I've ever read, and the plot isn't half bad, if a little underdeveloped. The spelling and grammar hurts my eyes though.

Ah, yeah, that seems to be the way with most fics.
It seems like Dumbledore learned from that "go to your common room" thing by Prison of Azkaban as he had everyone camping in the Great Hall because of Sirius. Maybe the Heads of Houses had a right go at him for it?

Huh, they must have updated it/revised it.
When I went back and re-read it, it was SO bad. little punctuation and capitalization, lots of misspelled things, etc.
Now when I'm looking at it, the first two chapters at least are looking way better.

And even doing that is as stupid as hell because there is a troll wandering the school! Keep everyone in the Great Hall, for god's sake. It's safer. Put McG or Flitwick in front of the door, too ... and then double-dog-dare the troll to try and get in there ... 'cause I wanna see just how many pieces those two carve the troll into.

Minerva and Fillius as kids with the troll as that ugly brute kid every movie about bullies has to make fun of. They're daring each other to prank him!

Yeah. and I just finished uploading the revised changes. I get the feeling I've screwed up in a horrible way, and now everyone is going to be like screaming.

Oh yes, nothing better than Dumbledore bashing! O:-)
Oh, and as for the Halloween in first year, I couldn't agree more. Did the teachers actually believe they would be safe from a troll when they send the whole house in one heap? All that would achieve is a panic where some are tripped and trampled and couldn't escape. And it would mean that the students were left to fight the troll if it had moved from the dungeons (if it had been there in the first place, of course ...) If Dumbledore had had even a shred of common sense, he'd have left everyone in the Great Hall, locked and warded the doors, left two teachers to watch the kids and taken the others to find the troll. And that man is supposed to lead a war?? *head->desk*

Totally overrated, that guy, isn't he? Totally and completely. And utterly. Hell, *Filch* could out-lead Dumbledore. And that's saying something. Come to that, VOLDEMORT was a better leader. He at least achieved his aims without losing a crapton of his own people in the process, the first go-round (and for the bulk of the second!). And at least he only Cruciated/killed you if you fucked up. Your punishment was over fast. Dumbles just keeps on screwing you over again and again and again.

That's so freaking true... and a bit sick when you think about it. I mean, Voldie was supposed to be the true bad guy. Sometimes, it feels as though Dumbles should have been the evil one.

No disagreements here! I still wonder how many lives would have been saved if Dumbledore had not built *everything* on three teenagers finding, retrieving and destroying the Horcruxes and then Harry dying to make Voldemort mortal again. The man must have been highly senile - or worse.

The man must have been highly senile - or worse. Screw that. Just how many lives would have been saved if Dumbledore had 1) Tried to help 11-year-old Tom Riddle 2) If that failed, and it became clear Tom was jumping off the deep edge ... man up and just kill/contain (if Dumbles didn't know about the horcruxes) the guy before he can gather followers.
