You know I find that quite interesting... More so given how most the stories on there fit into that MA section.... So guess can say bye bye to most stories there....
And also notice nothing mentioned about the Reading, stories and stuff, so maybe they are going to put it under that as a reason?

So, it has not been allowed, but they have turned a blind eye on it for ten years and just noticed? *snort* Besides, for me M would include something more explicit already. Maybe it's the European mentality, but I never understood why they are so touchy about some of that in the first place. As if you could handle knowing about it only after you turn 18 ... how many teenagers have already had sex at that age? Ok, maybe it's a legal problem over there, but I can't see it happen around here to the same extent.
Most of the reading stories have nothing to do with M, save some where the abuse is taken to the extreme and the book text changed to match that. But most of them are completely harmless, so that's no excuse. Really, the more I hear the less I feel like using that site any longer. Will have to see if I can find some of the few remaining authors elsewhere, I am so fed up right now!

They added the images to pages now >.< kinda annoying...
Yes it is legal stuff, but most people like 99% of people do not go play by play of the event, but even at heavy petting falls under M... *sigh* it would be nice if Adultfanfiction used the same forum format as ff.net, would spend more time there, but as it is, it is impossible to just browse the stories.
But reading that it kinda felt like they were going to do away with ALL M-rated stories.. I dont think they will but that is the feeling I got from the message.

There's a relatively new site that's been created in response to this whole mess - yourfanfiction.com - and they do take MA rated stories.

*nods* I checked it out, saved it to my bookmarks as well. Most likely join it later.

That site looks like it could be quite good. Should we pass word around about it?

I heard about it on Tumblr and then promptly informed my followers about it. Mostly because as soon as I'm finished with my current HP story on FF.Net, I'll probably carry on on there - I've just about lost faith.

I've added it as well. But I know myself, I'll probably switch between both of them. Got plenty of non-rated M/MA fav-stories as well, so for those I would remain on ffn. Any possible future publications will most likely end up on yourfanfiction.com.

Will you be posting your non-M/MA fics on both? or just ffn?

Dont know. Haven't got many fics yet. just a bunch of drafts that seem kinda weak atm. Too Gary-stueish. And kinda short, I've realised after seeing the word-count.

I have the problem too. I can't flesh them out to decent sized chapters. I also can't think up whole plots and a way to resolve them and make them really interesting. I come up with the characters and situation well but then it all falls apart and I get fed up with it, but that's normally my original fiction ideas. My fanfic is all just samey cliche stuff which also annoys me so I end up not writing it.

I know. I have a hard time getting plots together, fanfic has plenty cliche stuff as well.
I have been working on it, but it is not going really well.

It is near impossible to come up with a Original and Unique story that has not been done before. Just a matter of what you did different then them.

Yeah, I think that's the only way to do something original. I think Lomonaaeren does pretty well though, but maybe that's just because I haven't read the other fics that have the same sort of ideas.

The problem with over I-don't-know-how-many-million stories is that it is very hard to find an original plot... and when one has been created everyone jumps upon it...

That happened to me and my story Slow Life. I got the idea about reincarnation and wrote about it, but then almost everyone jumped to the conclusion that I just copy/pasted the Immortal books - when I never even heard of the series before. ^^ll

Will have to see if I can find some of the few remaining authors elsewhere, I am so fed up right now! It's not really an European mentality. Most likely, it was bored people who have nothing better to do than moan all day and bother others. Last year's Redbutton had already started to delete stories that didn't have a proper grammar or syntax OR have mature words in the wrong rated category. I'm sorry folks but "pussy" also means cat or is used to nickname a girl. Or even "Kat" --> diminutive for Katherine or other ==> was considered as a grammar mistake. One thing I would like to point out is that ALL of the stories deleted are written in English. I know it is the biggest fan base but you don't hear complaints from the Spannish or the French section.

Probably because the reporters can't read Spanish or French.

Unfortunately, if they start actually screening stories, they will lose mine. While right now there are no lemons, it is planned for the future, and I am not going to censor my writing.

You could always post them on AFF.net or edit those parts out (or mark the parts... most people don't complain if you mark the part well and issue a warning...)

So are they going to be deleting all the fics rated M?

Nope, only the fics they believe to be MA (thus the ones people complain about)

Considering how 'picky' these people are that are doing the reporting (and seeing as something so little sets them off), I wouldn't be surprised if MOST of the M rated fics go, or at least a good portion of them. It would take awhile of course, considering how big each section is, but still I wouldn't put it passed these people to report something even if it wants detailed and graphic or did follow the TOS and they just report it because they don't like it.

I can see the point of deleting fics that don't follow the TOS. But why now all of a sudden. If it is a annual, etc clean-up, that I can get. But why at this point in time; it could be the reporters, but they can't screen all the fics. and I think there are more non-reporters than reporters.

I guess the authors who write M fics would only have to take out the lemons, right? If not that, then what exactly would they need to take out of their fics?

It's not only the lemons that they want remove. It's the mere idea of sex. Especially homosexual intercourse. Most of the stories that have been deleted (even very tame) have YAOI (boy/boy) or YURI (girl/girl). Mentions of threesomes, harems, bewitching etc are being deleted.
In a word, everything that effects their sensibilities.

Perhaps violence? But America is always more focused on sex, than violence in terms of censorship etc.

Exactly my point. I get the TOS part of it all. That makes sense, but IF they get rid of ALL of that, I doubt they'll have much of an archive left, considering the fact that most if not a good portion of all the stories have some of those things. and I bet they could report and go through it all, if they were determined enough to purge everything they felt didn't fit or didn't like. It would just take years. It would also depend on how many people they have out there searching for this stuff and doing the reporting. You'd also probably have to take into consideration the Authors who took their fics down willingly.
