So, I have been browsing the both of the dreaded "Critics United" and "Fanfiction Rennaissance" forums and found some interesting things. Firstly, it looks like the CU forum is in the doghouse with ff.net. Supposedly, they broke some of the forum rules that ff.net set up. Secondly, both of the forums members are divided on the "M" fic purging. It seems that some actually write and enjoy the "M" fics here and will be sad to see them gone. Finally, I believe the only stories ff.net are seriously taking down are ones with explicit sexual intercourse (e.g. lemons and limes). I read the guidelines on ff.net and it says nothing against yaoi, yuri, and harem fics.

The fact that they're in trouble is good to know. I suppose they're not saying anything about the CRs that disappeared? I'm sure most of them weren't rated M.

Most of them weren't. I saw a few though, probably with heavy abuse, rape, possible yaoi etc.

From what I have seen they have deleted a lot of the Naruto fics rated "M". Yesterday, I browsed all the "M" stories with 100,000+ words and there was 45 pages. Today there was only 29 total pages for that query. I don't think ff.net has hit the crossovers yet though.

I just searched M, 100,000+ Naruto, english and found 50 pages.

Beyond that I like the addition of the Summery on the Story pages, though I hate the image... Because I have more then once forgotten what the Summery said for one reason or other.

I am actually afraid to see how many the stories I watch/read are gone or not.

So am I. I know most of my Alert List was made up of Highly M-rated stuff or CR fics. I don't know how many fics I had in the first place but it certainly looks shorter.

I have lost so far 3 fics, from my fav list, which were Rated-M. 2 I can understand content-wise, the 3rd not so much. All the other m-rated stuff safe so far. got them backed up anyways.
CR lost some as well, but kept a lot 2.

Yeah I've still got most of the CR's on my list but it seems liek the best ones are the ones disappearing.

I think I have lost about 200 from my favorite list as I remember have over 600 there now im in the 400's...

And no telling when comes to my alerts as they are not counted...

G.novella's is still on though. that is 1 of my favorites in CR-stuff.

What would be the point in deleting the rubbish few people read? Hit the popular stories, that causes more of a stir and makes people much angrier at you!
Every time I look at my favourites, I check worriedly the number to see if something has vanished since last time. Lost three so far

True. 3 doesn't seem like much, but every removal hurts just the same. How many favs u got. approximately?

Initially I had 147, I think, at the moment it's still 144. But seeing that half the list is compiled of CR fics, I don't think it's staying that way. Oh well, I have backed up everything I wanted to keep and try to keep track of who is going where to post now ...

Oh, no, just remembered that I added one recently, so there are 4 lost.

Was just talking to a friend on FFN about the whole mess and mentioned that obviously 'pussy' is already a problem, no matter the context. Can you believe that, when I sent the PM, the word was replaced by stars? *bangs head* As if I had needed any proof how paranoid they are getting, just so the sensibilities of some kings of prudeness aren't offended! That's getting ridiculous!
