What if she did wind up with a baby, but adopted him out to someone else, and never getting in contact with the child? I could see that happening.

Totally possible, better for the child though. Skeeter's not a great mother figure to begin with..

Is it wrong to wonder what Harry would be like if Skeeter had been the one to raise him?

It is not wrong. Actually, it's a rather interesting question. Something tells me Harry would have been more cynical and less trusting.

A hell of a lot more into consiracies, snooping, and possibly gossip. If she loved him, he'd become a person who wants to gather information and probably have a lot more knowledge of how the world works.

And he'd do stuff that she could write about and publish, which she would probably do in the name of advancing her own career.

Oh my god. First year, imagine how much money Skeeter would make off of an article bashing Dumbledorez's protections for the stone and his hiring of Quirrel and Voldie's return! That, and she'd so easily convince the masses on Voldemort's return with a few well-placed articles..

Oh dear... and if she truly loved Harry, she'd unleash holy hell. Especially if Dumbles wound up putting Harry at the Dursleys at first. *shivers*

Could you imagine what Skeeter would do? She'd have him resigned before COS even starts! I can see her making Harry not like Hermione though, and probably more a Slytherin. But Malfoy hates people better than him, and she'd wamt Harry with respectable people.. Perhaps someone like Daphne, maybe Theodore. She'd end the Weasley relationship because they're nobodies, but he could get along with Lavender, Parvati, and Seamus and Dean more perhaps... I can't picture him befriensing anyone really...

It would be a stark contrast to the HP we know, that's for sure. And Skeeter sure as hell wouldn't let Dumbles get away with all his crap.

I don't think Animaguses would be restricted in tranforming if pregnant. The transformation is not really the moving around of "internal parts" as the whole body (clothes, wand, etc...) transformation and so I would think the fetus would transform along with the witch, being treated as nothing more than another internal organ (rather than a separate non-attached living being.)
I also don't think werewolf transformation would threaten the unborn with a female werewolf either. It certainly would make for a darker toned world, but I personally take things a bit more holistically and just consider werewolves to be a wholly different species (admittedly one that formerly was human, but that has been magically transformed by a magical disease) and therefore would need to be able to breed and reproduce. Yes, there are internal transformations that go along, but if you look at how Remus transformed (going off of what is portrayed in the movie) all of his changes in form from human to werewolf are skeletal and dermal (skin), not internal organs and nothing that would be pentrative into the uterine space of a female werewolf. Painful, of course, but pain alone does not lead to instant miscarriage. A medic I work with who worked under an OBGYN was pretty adamant that being pregnant does not disable a woman (barring a high-risk pregnancy, which is another kettle of fish) and honestly, evolutionarily, it makes no sense for a pregnant person to become so fragile during the course of her pregnancy.

I don't know if this is canon to JK's world or not, but somewhere I heard that female werewolves are completely are not fertile. So, if this is true, than no matter how much a female werewolf wants children, it is impossible due to the genetic changes that occur when someone becomes a werewolf.

Might be someones interpretation of "werewolves" in Twilight. And even that isn't confirmed, because there was only one female werewolf ever in Twilight, and IMO she stopped menstruating because wolves don't menstruate, they go through estrus which just means Leah Clearwater just has to go into heat and she can get pregnant. They knew A werewolf was attacking people. Unless werewolves have stylistic differences like Animagi, you can't really know for certain WHICH werewolf actually did the attacking (except if you are crazy enough to watch them transform from human to wolf so you know that person X was the attacker). For all we know, Greyback as a werewolf doesn't actually go after people with any more frequency than other werewolves, and only acts especially monstrous as a HUMAN, spouting his, "Werewolves are supreme," rhetoric.

But Remus knew which werewolf turned him, so he had seen him in human form before or after being attacked, and others might have, too.

Fenrir is some piece of work. I both hate him absolutely and love him for being so fucked up.

.. Aww... Alright, I guess that means wolves and stuff.
Well, er... you think the registration was private? I mean, would it be like an offenders list, available to the general public with general areas as to where said wolf is located, or kept private?

I think it was kept private, but that's more me hoping because we all know that the Ministry sucks.

Post by Kitty279 on Jul 23, 2012 1:42:50 GMT -5
Good question. It *should* be private, but knowing the Ministry, I have my doubts. People like Umbitch would use it for their own ends, and not the good ones.
