I couldn't decide, so now I'm curious.

Inquiring minds want to know!
JKR could really spend the rest of her life deciding, inventing and writing all these details we want to know.

*sighs* I hate the Wizarding World, I really do! It's so damn prejudiced that it makes the Muggle World look better by comparison!

And considering the state many muggle governments are in, that says something.

.. Aww... Alright, I guess that means wolves and stuff. Well, er... you think the registration was private? I mean, would it be like an offenders list, available to the general public with general areas as to where said wolf is located, or kept private? I think, officially, it was private. However, it was so easy to get to, there was no point in hiding it, if you understand what I mean.

As I said before though, the theory is sound, it's just the practice that's flawed. Sadly enough, it's not even the ministry that can be blamed for it, although it is doubtless that they are prejudiced, it does seem to be a problem with the general public as a whole.
Even Ron was a bit of a dick to Remus during the shreaking shack when it came to him being a werewolf (Not calling him by name, just saying "get away from me, werewolf.")
That's someone who is 'light-sided'

True. And Molly can be a bit narrow-minded, so I guess he got that from her. Really, the whole world needs a heavy overhaul, plus needs to be dragged into the 21th century, no matter how much they are kicking and screaming.

Then again, he'd just been told that Remus was helping Sirius, who was thought to be after Harry.

Does anyone else find it disturbing that Hadgrid tried to raise werewolf cubs? Under his bed no less?

I forgot about that...
And yeah, that sounds kind of disturbing.

I don't think it was werewolfs, maybe something like Chimaeras or Crups? But Voldemort used a generic term, I mean, crup cubs sound cute.

I have to assume that werewolves like Remus, while not necessarily a rarity, are not the universal presentation that werewolves in HP are like.
I'm sorry, but werewolves are a public safety and public health problem. They (without strict use of wolfsbane potion) the equivalent of infectious highly violent psychopaths three days out of the month. I'm willing to bet there is a significant increase in violent aggressiveness even when not transformed by the full moon.
Unlike blood purity, there is a genuine reason to be wary of people who are lycanthropes living among you. Its not just blind bigotry.
I'm not saying that they should be treated badly, just that it should not be ignored.

TB im not ignoring that part of lycanthropy im saying its wrong to emphasize it its like someone saying im blind every two seconds when i know im blind and know how to deal itll only make me resent you and lash out thats the problem with greyback, they pestered him for something he cant change and made him resent the magical populous
