These are the only fics i'll read that have an H/G pairing and that's only when she's characterised well or the plot is good enough that it cancels the pairing out a bit.
I read Het too if it's decent enough. I actually really enjoy Naruto het, possibly more than Naruto Slash, but I just see Harry as gay and not many fics out there can get me to see past that.

Hehe true. I think among the few Harry/Ginny ones I like are in the WBWL plotline and the two have known each other since childhood for whatever reason they meet up. But yeah I cannot stand Ginny as she is rather ditzy I mean really what Magic Raised child is going to go writing in a book that talks back? One the things I did not like with that book to tell the truth.
Ah yes Naruto het and slash are both good. I rather like the HP/Naruto crossovers be they het or slash. I mainly read Harry, with one or more of these guys, Tom/Voldemort, Severus, Lucius, Draco.

Those are the pairings I read too! Throw in a couple decent Fenrir's and any other male Death Eater really and I'll read it. I like Fred/Draco/George as a background pairing too, along with Sirius/Remus, Severus/Remus, Severus/Sirius and Dean/Seamus
OMRowling! Just found a Read the books HP/Naruto crossover that was posted yesterday! ... But it has bad grammar, damn.
If I read crossovers it's usually HP with:
Twilight
Transformers
X-Men
Naruto
Death Note
and SOMEtimes Ouran High School Host Club

I have read a couple of POTC, but there is not many in that area.
Ah yes those are great pairings to, though I do not go out of my way to read them as I like my main of Harry. Harry and the Twins is good, actually any Weasely save Ron, Percy and Arthur...
Oh yes I read it, but I have a wait and see on it, most times ones like that I won't review until I have a firm opinion on it, as often times I have no clue what to say.... The one where Tsunade and Luna were close? I think they need to expand that plot a bit and explain things more, like why exactly are they there and how for that matter. But that is why I wait to see if it gets explained later.

Especially Molly. sometimes I want to slap and shake her when I read parts where she is scolding or what not. Hermione, Harry, Ron, Ginny and the Twins are not the little kids that they used to be (unless they are reading when they are all young like Dimcairien's stories) and I don't think Ron, Harry or Hermione were ever children to begin with, especially Harry and the way he was raised. Ron might have been childish at first but after the first few books he started to really grow. Couldn't agree more! Molly's annoying the heck out of me sometimes. I understand that she wants to protect her children, but she needs to realise that keeping them innocent and out of the loop is not going to protect them from a war, and that they need to be prepared. IMO she is endangering them in her naive belief that keeping the real world from them would save their lives. I agree with both of you! It's why I've started liking fics with molly-bashing. She bugs me so much and she's not even Harry's mother. She has no right to decide what's best for him. I like Fread and George's reaction to the Marauders too. And Sirius and Remus's reaction to their adventures. I like when the Order thinks maybe Albus has taken on too much and is going senlie. Have I meantioned how much I really LOVE when Slytherin/Death eaters read them? So do I. |

I'm not keen on WBWL, female or sibling Harry fics all that much. Especially if he grew up with family. I like how he grew up as it makes him how he is. I do however like Abused!Harry fics but only if they don't take it ridiculously far.

If they are well done I have no problem with them. I have read a good handful of them, one of which is on here or will be, by HavenSpire.
But it is a complicated aspect to write as so much to change to get it to work right. Same with Siblings if the parents do not survive that night as cannot see two children being in the cupboard.

Yeah, I've seen that cupboard at the tour and it's tiny. Couldn't fit 2 kids in there.
What do people think of Slytherin!Harry fics? I personally love them. Along with Sevitus (Severus adopts Harry), Re-do fics and Time-travel fics.

*nods* Though I did read one where the Killing Curse made a Copy of Harry, though no one but Petunia knows given she raised them. It has no Vernon or Dudley in the story. It is still in progress so no idea when people in charge will find out... But they were raised like normal children so does not really fit the Cupboard aspect, but it did remind me of it lol...
Oh I rather like them, same with Ravenclaw!Harry's. Time Travel fics are good, but there have been a few bad ones so I try to be picky with those. Adoption fics with Severus are great. I have not read recently since started the sequel but one where he is adopted by him and everyone thinks he is a squib when he really isn't. Cannot think the name but it was really good.

I haven't read that one. I'm picky with all my fics. I like fics where Harry's horcrux gets in contact with him and trains him to be a good little slave, haha.

Well when all you do is read Fanfic it is hard to be completely picky, as other wise I would so not have anything to read...

I know but sometimes there are ones that you know just from the summary that it's going to be god-awful. If the spelling there is terrible I don't read it.

I actually rather like stories where Harry wises up and takes control of his life, like it should have been.

I like those too, or when he gets all political or is a Founder's heir. Sometimes I like Powerful!Harry but only if they don't overdo it. Really like Smart!Harry too. And De-aged fics.

Ugh yeah, I mean I am not going to say I am perfect, you can tell that just by reading my own fics, they are not great and I can only imagine the grammar issues >.< But I wish not to subject others to my terrible writing in having to fix it.. So I just hope for the best and try to keep the typos correct. But these people just don't seem to care, more so when there are a few Free Programs that can spellcheck.
Oooh love Founder's Heir types, but I mean really who is to say he isn't an heir, because J.K never really that far in depth about the characters and their history. Just like did Harry retain his Snake Speaking ability after the war? I dunno it was never covered, for that matter it was rarely even mentioned save those rare occasions.
De-Aged can be so funny, but I can see it being rather complicated to write.

I often wonder about his Pareltongue ability too. I like to think he did retain it as it's such a cool think to be able to do. Snakes are one of the best animals out there, behind wolves, huskies and mythical creatures.
What about animagus fics? I don't like multi-animagus fics as they don't fit with the information we have on them at all.

I did find a really good story about Hermione being Severus' daughter. It's called Different Paths.

Yeah plus if you look at the family history Tom and Harry were distantly related so there is numerous reasons as to how it comes to staying around. Myself I like to think it just needed a kick start to the gene to start working, but even if it was just magic alone he had it long enough it should have imprinted on him. Erm, well it depends on a number of factors, their types and if he is something like a metamorph, but for the most part those don't last very long as they tend to go over board. I can see him having two at the most, one land the other air. He has after all had two souls in his body so can see two working. What about Mythical Creature Animagus? There are many thoughts on this, many saying it is not possible. what do you guys think of Hermione/Severus, Hermione/Lucius, Hermione/Sirius or Hermione/Remus? Personally I don't really like them. I will read them if they have a good plot, but other than that I kind of find them creepy. I think they are more like a father figure (yes, even Lucius) to her than a romance interest. I did find a really good story about Hermione being Severus' daughter. It's called Different Paths. All of those men are far too old to be dating Hermione. Well, I might be willing to read Hermione with Sirius or Remus if it was a time travel fic or something, getting around the age gap, but I wouldn't read Hermione/Lucius or Hermione/Severus even if they were somehow the same age as Hermione - I find those pairings particularly unreadable given Snape's and Lucius's actions and attitudes in canon. |

I agree with all of this except for the Hermione thing. I don't like her with an adult. The only person I like that with is Harry, otherwise I find it wrong. Stupid I know but that's just how I like it. I don't think magical animagi are possible but I'm not against them. I think Phoenix's are overused though. My posts were the same!. my top male is a draw between Harry, Draco and Severus
I actually tend to not like female characters in ANYTHING but I do love Hermione, Luna and the Greengrasses (fanfic only). I also quite like the Black sisters.

I like Narcissa in some fics, and I like Andromeda. I can live without Bellatrix though. I'm actually starting to like Severus, I didn't like him at all, but now I'm softening towards him.
