I loved the start to your story so will definitely be checking out the rest of it. Are you only posting it on your blog or somewhere else as well? I've also got an account on yourfanfiction.com. The first two parts are already posted there, too. The site is still very small, but I guess, I'll stay there for now. There's a certain charm to watching it grow. ;D

Heads up all! I was just on Wattpad and RtBs are disappearing from there now. I was literally in the middle of reading one and I turned the page and it is no longer available. The author of "Seven Books and a Letter" was really upset because she lost lots of work because she only just started using Word for the last few chapters when she got a new laptop. If anyone has that one saved please let me know and I can contact her about it so she can relax. I warned her about ffn and CU and directed her here as well.

since we have been getting a lot of crap from CU and others....I have been curious and have looked at some of the those people's profiles and a question has arised. Why do most, if not all, have no stories posted of their own? If they really wanted to help us, why not post their own stories to show us how it is done? Why not show us how to "follow the rules" instead of pushing it. I'm a christian and I've been raise that if I live a Godly life and show my faith, that it shows others how to live. It is a nicer way than shoving my beliefs down people's throats. I also think this applies outside of Christianity. If you really want to impact someone, instead of pushing the rules or beliefs, show them what to do or how to do it. if you don't want someone to lie, don't just yell at them to stop, you also have to do the same.
I hope that makes sense. But that was what was going through my head when I read those profiles and saw no stories.

I think CU and other like minded individuals have made it their personal mission in life to go to all known fanfic sites and have these stories removed. They are so pathetic, these stories aren't hurting anyone they are not depriving the original authors of money as anyone can read these books for free from the library so what's the difference if they read them online. If they were the 'good' people they claim themselves to be and feel so strongly about 'helping' people they would get off their asses and devote the time they use for cyberbullying to a worthy cause, like start a crusade against world hunger or habitat for humanity etc. There lives must be pretty pathetic and empty that they devote so much time to these stories.

I so agree, and I know this sounds morbid and depressing, but I wouldn't be surprised if I heard that someone had committed suicide and implied that the purge against RtBs was the reason. That would just be a kick in the nuts for the CU and those other like-minded individuals and maybe they would realise that they are hurting the readers and writers of RtB fics.

Let's not give ideas please. Remember that there are a lot of people on here tht we don't know and you never know what they are thinking. Plus, I have a small problem with how you said that. Suisice is very serious, please don't joke like it isn't. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, that is just my opinion. Also, this could very likely happen. I know I can't really tell the way you said that as you can only get so much out of writing and I'm sorry if I made you mad by criticizing you.

Oh I know that we don't know everyone, and I only said what I did because I think it might well happen. I don't want it to, but it is one of those things that might occur, maybe not soon, but at some point in the future, and, it may well take something as serious as a suicide to make the CU realise what they're doing. I get the feeling that they will not stop until every fanfiction writer conforms to their wishes, and that may well drive someone to suicide. It's a fact, I'm not joking, and the CU may well find that it happens, and they are blamed.

yeah, again sorry for the criticism, sometimes (especially in writing) I can't tell if it is a joke or not.
I agree, this may come back to haunt the CU. I don't wish it on them, but I can see this backfiring.

Mountaingirl, sadly that has nothing to do with Christianity. I wouldn't even be surprised if these cyberbullies thought of themselves as good Christians for enforcing the rules. Our world is so false and bigot - look at all the killings in the name of whatever god people believe in. Mind you, I understand where you come from, but these people have no moral compass whatsoever and get their kick out of bullying the authors off the site.
Squid, I hadn't thought of that before, but there are actually people out there who live for fanfiction because they don't have a job and no money to do anything outside. If their stories are deleted from site after site, it would truly hit them hard and may very well lead to depressions and more. The worst is, the CU would probably not even learn of it.
At that rate, I'm beginning to wonder if it's even worth to try and finish my stories - and I'm not talking about the RtB one. Right now, no site looks very appealing when we have the same problems everywhere.

There is a Yahoo Group called Reading Harry Potter. You can either send your stories out by email as you update or upload them to a file on the Group page.

They'll probably join the group and then report them to Yahoo, so I don't think it would be more lasting than here.

I say mailing list is the only cu proof option. If you don't want to use your personal email. Just create one dedicated to Reading the Books.
