Well I am bored, not much getting updated on FF.net so a matter of reading old fics or just browsing around aimlessly. So thought what if came up with plot ideas for those that are stuck on what to do or what they are doing.
Can include general ideas or challenges.
If you have a challenge and someone takes it up I will try to keep a list of those here in this post if and when they happen.
But anyways ideas are great, and though I imagine most here will be RtB's but feel free to post ideas for non-rtb's as well ^^

But a Must is that Harry is not a weakling or stupid.... Up to to Author in if anyone gets bashed and who is "evil" in the story. Love Interests is also up to the Author. Character timing at least book 5, but Book 4 can be used as well as the Goblet of Fire could be catalyst there.

Pairings: Author Preference?
Plot: Should involve Harry being raised by Sirius in some way. Sirius escapes Azkaban type deal and raises Harry. Dumbledore being thwarted in his attempts to protect Harry. The Black family starts to revolve around Harry as they like raising the boy and start to become more towards the light or neutral, the Malfoys can be involved as well if you want. The challenge is to integrate the Weasleys as a part of the 'family' too. Good luck!

Plot: Someone (you decide who) has the books delivered to Buckingham Palace (you decide how) in 1987 (making Harry 8 years old) along with a note. The Queen decides they must be read and complies with the note (to retrieve the needed readers). The rest is down to you.

Possible options: they all read the entire book; they read starting with the chapter "The Hearing"; or they only read the chapter "Out of the Fire" where Umbridge confesses to unleashing the Dementors.

Style Notes: Good spelling, grammar, and formatting. Please try to avoid some of the cliches that plague this genre.

Other Characters: only people who appear in the books, and whose role/position has changed between the time the books are read and the time the books take place.
Pairings: canon pairings
Plot: The readers, in school, before any big incidents like the whomping willow or OWL exams (so maybe year 2), get the books (don't care how), and decide to read them. Only thing is, in the books, everyone's names have been changed so they don't recognize the fact that the characters are related to them. They only get some idea when they read about what the books say about the past that they've already lived. So people will be commenting on their own actions and getting upset with themselves without knowing it.

Must be more then just a RtB, should have a deeper plot then just the reading.

Plot: This is a complex idea that can be played out a number of ways, which I leave up to you authors. But you do need a basis eh? So Harry's timeline is after the Second Wizarding War so after school and in that 19 year time frame. Harry is or was an Auror, but retires/quits once everything is running smoothly without his help. So he can now pursue his own life, not easy but he does succeed in doing so. He then goes about expanding his education well beyond what he had. His new learning goes into the other fields such as Arthmacey, Ancient Runes, History and of course Potions, and Warding while using a tutor to learn. But that is not all, he also got into learning Muggle classes that coincide with Magical lessons like Archaeology, becoming fascinated with Egyptian history, both Muggle and Magical. I figure a few years say 6 years after the war, things could get to this point in learning, while not a master in the arts he could very well off in the knowledge. He could go into the Cursebreaker/Archaeology field, maybe working with Gringotts like Bill. Or have it be more a extensive Hobby... Now how Harry ends up in the past, is pretty much up to you, same as what time frame for the Mummy crew is up to you, but might be best to be between the two movies. There is a lot of play in what you can do with the story. Harry is the Master of Death though, so lots to play there. Also Harry needs to have a Medjai Tattoo like Rick's though not in the same spot most likely, so not as easily seen or noticed. Love interest, well not a big part the story but would like him to find love in some form while in the past as no way to return to the future, least not till late in the story towards the end, then could save room for a sequel.

It's the "if Snape got a second chance he would have chosen Lily" quote from JKRowling that inspired this. So, they got married and had Harry (though you can name him whatever you want) and they find the books about the other Harry's life to get a glimpse of what would have been if Lily hadn't forgiven Snape.

Pairings: Canon with (at the start of GoF) Hermione beginning to realise she has romantic feelings for Ron, Ron caring about Hermione as more than a friend but not realising it, Ginny still with her strong crush on Harry but it is a bit more under control than in CoS and PoA and Harry having no romantic feelings for Ginny at all yet.
