Yep! It's my favourite page for looking at HP images on the internet. They have so many, though their competeitions annoy me a bit. I like to see the funny stuff.

HAHAHA! Seen that pic and love it! She does sort of acknowledge that they AREN'T true werewolves but then continues to refer to them as such... idiot. I thought they were supposed to be shape shifters, she seriously called them werewolves? Huh, didn't remember that from the first movie.

They are shapeshifters and I think it says that more in the film but in the book they continue to call them werewolves, even when Carlisle has explained that there are true werewolves in the world that are affected by the moon and are far more dangerous.

Well that's just stupid. I mean seriously she decides what the characters are and what they say, couldn't she remember they were shapeshifters?

She does remember, she probably thinks if she calls them werewolves, people will like them more. Also, the other vampires who see them automatically think they're werewolves even though they know what werewolves look like and they're nothing like that.

Ah, the world of Twilight....
It's like a series of bad fanfics gone wrong, if you ask me.

Meh, I don't think she's a completely bad author, just not good enough.
The Host is a good story. Not great and not without faults, but it's good.

You got that right. There was an explosion of these types of stories on the market once HP became a hit.

I always thought twilight was an erotic fantasy she wrote down and the editors took out the sex and marketed it to teenagers.

Even with everything I have heard here about twilight, if forced to read an SM book I'd take Twilight over Host. My friend told me what Host was about and it sounds horrible, confusing, completely messed up, I could keep going on but I think you get the idea

The Host wasn't that bad actually. I mean, the first hundred pages are boring or so, but the rest is quite interesting. It's nothing great or worth reading a hundred times, but it has less angst and bullshit in comparison to twilight, no pedophilia, and the characters though a bit flat, aren't that irritating.

Anybody excited for JK's new book? I don't think it's HP related, but I can't wait to see what she comes up with! It'll be hard for her to step out of HP's shadow, though.

Here's an excerp of the book:
The Casual Vacancy Little, Brown announces details of J.K. Rowling’s first novel for adults.
When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock.
Seemingly an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war.
Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…Pagford is not what it first seems.
And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?
Blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising, The Casual Vacancy is J.K. Rowling’s first novel for adults.
Can't say it really captures my interest unfortunatly.
gnovella: If that's what The Host is like then I'd still rather read Twilight. At least I would get a good laugh. OH! I could pretend I'm reading a HP characters read Twilight, their reactions would probably be hilarious.

Her new book is called The Casual Vacancy. I can't wait to see it. ;D

I know I'll want to get her new book after it comes out, though I'll have the patience to wait awhile until it's more easily available.

I'm going to pre-order it from Waterstones as it's half price if you do. I'm definitely going to read it, whether I'll enjoy it or not is yet to be seen.

I hope I get to read it as well. The only problem is, I can't order or pre-order it from anywhere since I don't have a credit card and I don't live in USA or UK. I hope Emka will get it (this is our online bookshop) so that I can read it.

I can't believe there's a thread for this... do you need to compare a genius to Stephanie Mayor? 1. Twilight has that "Love at first sight" thing... Edward is "interested" by Bella from the first time he sees her, they start dating after less than what? a few months? It took Harry 6 books for him to ge with Ginny, and Ron 7 with Hermione.. 2. I know that people can become emotionally scarred from brake-ups.. and even fall into a coma and stuff... but still- a little extreme 3. I hate how Twilight tells you that humans are weak and defenseless, and Vampires and Werewolves are so much better than we are, AND BELLA DOESN"T STAY HUMAN... is she telling us that if you can't do something, we shouldn't try again, but become something totally different? If I had to change every time someone called me weird... 4. I couldn't believe that Bella got married after high school. Is she encouraging this? And universities like Dartmouth giving into bribes... and saying that this is okay... 5. Since when did blood-sucking vampires of dark myths become the epitome of perfectness? 6. Vampire... it was okay, at the beginning. But werewolf? Jacob Black being the werewolf? Jacob imprinting on bella's kid? Jacob and Edward HAD to be enemies because of what they were? Is it just me or is this like way too coincidental? 7. Renesmee... okay... it's a cool name. But really? A perfect child, a perfect... frozen-at-nineteen-vampire husband? a perfect family? could that be more unrealistic? Is she saying that life has to be perfect for it to be worth living? 8. Immortality? Really? She's like encouraging readers to become like Voldemort. Fear of death, always living. Doesn't she know that life is only this precious because it ends? I'm a minor in middle school, and I know that... 9. You know what? I rest my case. I really liked the pics above they were really funny, especially "are you an idiot?" - best answer, chosen by voters

The only character I like in Twilight is Jasper. At least he's got his flaws and isn't this perfect person that every other Cullen vampire seems to be. And I can sympathize with Rosalie as well. It's hard having to go through with what happened to her.

I had to read the first book as a dare. Still can't get over how stupid it was. What saddens me the most, is that the whole thing is based off of a dream that SM had. Seriously? It's cool to get inspiration from your dreams/imagination, but something like this? Also, I find it both inspiring and hilarious that no one has showed up to defend Twilight.

That's because you can't defend it. It just doesn't compare to a series like HP. I'll read almost anything, but I gave up on Twilight after about 50 pages, and that was when I was the target age.
