My fic just got deleted by the admins

I'm going to continue posting on ff.net until my stories are deleted. Afterwords, I'll be posting them both here, and on Your Fanfiction.

I know its a new site, but I do like how it runs so far. I can't wait to see how it develops.

I'll have to check out yourfanfiction and I'll probably start moving some of my stories over there, but I'll also keep them on ff.net as well, unless something happens, which thankfully hasn't yet.

I've also heard that on FF.net that:

Unfortunately, I've been told that same-gender relationships, be they the focus and mentioned briefly are to be removed from FFN.

Isn't that illegally discriminating? Could they(FF.net) get in trouble for that?

Very much so, but the thing is, I think they may just target any homosexual erotica, not slash stories, just the erotic ones, and if they say its because of the rating system, then well, then a case is difficult to file. Besides, technically speaking, if they ax more slash fics than het fics, it's hard to say because the volume is so great. Perhaps a determined person can catch them, but it's such a thing that once the fic is gone, who's to know? So really, they can't get in much trouble, or at least, I don't think they can. I may be wrong, but the way I see it is in that way.

Then it should send it to your download folder. Are you clicking on the story once it is downloaded? When you do it a small window should pop up asking if you want to save it, when you say yes then it loads to your download folder

Nicole Emsley Hey guys, its Nicole. This isn't my facebook but I promise this is me. My story got deleted today but I plan on just trying to post it again. If that doesn't work then ill add the last chapter as a one shot. And if THAT doesn't work then...ill resort to a new website, like I said.

I think your using the same program as me, did you go to menu, configuration and select the folder that you wanted to download into (fanfic output path) Sorry if this didn't help but it was worth a try.

Wow, I my fav list went down by about 50... I'm lowballing my estimate here though. I need to be quicker on saving my favorites now... Yikes.

I finally got my computer back from the techie, I haven't had it for nearly a month so today I could go through and back up everything that's left. Of the stories I got 'required reading' by Phoenixscars, randomreader90's 'Into the past' series, Hope In Hells series,the one by Koldrian, 'what to expect when reading the books'; and quite few others, that haven't been updated for a few months or more. They are all in PDF format and so far not many of the older ones seem to be touched, but I can pass them on if anyone wants them.

Definitely see if she wants to put it up here, same with your own if it's a RtB fic; or you could both try 'yourfanfiction.com'.
I really hope she continues it one way or another, they were so close to the end of the book and the 'what happens next' part; it was one of the few fics of the hogwarts/ootp reading type that got that far. Good luck.

Oh God. Can they get any more biased? I really am beginning to think that the ones behind the whole thing are prudish to the extreme, think anything sexual is dirty and should be punished - and that includes real life. I wonder how many of these do have any relationship? You're right, for me that borders on discrimination. You can think about it as you want, but to remove stories for just mentioning the existence of same-sex relationships in passing is not only discriminating, but ridiculous as well. When are these people living, in the 1800's??

Don't really know, as I am not American and don't know your laws. But if they are deleting a story actually just for the mention of same-sex pairings, then I'd count that as discrimination. Besides, as far as I can tell, it's not even the Admins of the site who decide, they just allow a bunch of extremely prejudiced prudish pricks to report stories just based on a word search - that's how 'pussy-cat' can get you deleted. Already found out that the use of 'pussy' counts as swear-word on the PM function and gets replaced by stars. Yeah right, a cat is something so obscene the story needs to be deleted *rolls eyes*

And there seems to be someone with a programme who can delete stories on websites not his own, if I understood that correctly. To me, that's way out of line, and the fact that FFN is allowing that and follows the reports of his little friends without questioning how they suddenly report thousands of fics is bordering on criminal in itself. At least that's how I feel about it. And that's not even bringing up that they neither announced the action on their website nor warned the authors or gave them time to change stuff. If people there had to pay for using the site, I am sure the deleted authors could sue the hell out of them for the way they treat their customers ...

But as I said, that's my private opinion, I'm not a lawyer. Though someone (I think Silvertongue?) said she worked on a law firm and the lawyers there think FFN's actions are illegal, at least under GB rights.
