It was a beautiful sunrise. Shades of gold, red and orange lit the morning sky in a way that reminded Lucinda of home. She let out a small trill, which echoed softly through the forest. She had perched on the tallest tree in the Forbidden Forest, and started to sing her song: Ones of old, ones of new
Creatures alike - the many and the few
Heed my words, my warning clear
The humans are who we must fear!
Forever leaving us caged!
I've seen and felt the worst as they raged!
I swear to defend, to honor and protect,
My fellow creatures, I shall not neglect!
So mote it be, let it be known!
Call upon light and you'll never be alone!

150 years I've been on this planet and I thought I'd seen everything until The Uprising started. Creatures pitted against mankind. I'm just lucky that I look more like a Raven and that I'm part Phoenix otherwise I'd have been killed by now. There's one vampire that I've been keeping an eye on for a while now, she's no normal magical vampire either, I can sense the distant trace of magic within her and I prey to every god, magical and muggle, that she survives this travisty.

((It's magical creatures versus humans, not muggles versus wizards. You might want to fix your post a little, wings))
After singing her song to the entirety of the forest, Lucinda decided to leave her tall perch and go and see if anyone had listened to her. Most likely, no one had, but the song was her version of an unbreakable vow. She had known that humans were slowly treading down the path of war against her fellow magical creatures, and as repayment for not helping them sooner, she'd sworn to always protect them.

I'm not sure how this War started but when I heard that the goal was to go after the magicals and after what they did to my Grandpa, I decided to join up with the creatures. You see my name is Lexie Aden Phillips but when my Grandpa got kicked out of the magical world he changed the family name to Phillips and never told anyone, hell he changed his entire name. Instead of being Albus Severus Potter. He became Albert George Phillips, he chose George to honour the Uncle that fought tooth and nail for him, he couldn't choose his Dads name because it hurt far to much. Harry Potter would have fought for his son if his wife hadn't been controlling his actions. By the time he broke free it was far to late. But enough of this mushy nonsense, I have some butts to kick! Oh and did I mention that I'm a vampire? That's why my Grandpa got kicked out of the family.

Kei had been out, farther away from her herd then normal. She had decided that today would be a good day to take her daughter, Xie and her son, Jei out to continue practicing their hunting... The elder unicorn had put her nose high up in the air, and sniffed. Almost as if on cue, a beautiful song of a pheonix filled her ears. Kei blinked as she took in the words, trying to make sense of them. Was there... Going to be a war? Looking around, Kei tried to pin point the location of the song's origin. Before she could react though, Xie- the two year old unicorn that had been just a bit away, broke into a canter toward the sound. Kei didn't hesitate before breaking into a run herself, trying to catch up with her girl.
"Jei! We must find the bird and figure out what is happening!" She called back to her son, who looked mildly confused. The boy hesitated, looking toward the prey he had located before reluctantly following. Xie got their first, and she looked up to the top of the tree, rearing up so that her front hooves were resting on the trunk, "Why must we fear the humans?" She called. Xie had always liked the students up at the school, she enjoyed watching them from the forest and observe their odd ways.

One day, Violet, my owner, came home muttering about the article she had edited for the paper that day. Apparently, it spoke of witches and wizards supressing all creatures of magical heritage. Apparently, new laws were being passed, limiting our freedoms even more than what they were. This was the beginning of the Uprising. Thankfully, Violet didn't know that I was of a part kneazle descent, otherwise I might have had problems, and have been locked in a cage. But instead, I was still free to roam. I knew that one day I would have to leave her, but I didn't realize it would have to be so soon. Because already, it is time for me to leave and find someone who will protect me as a magical creature.

I was shocked when I went to work and was made to edit an article that mentioned the new laws that were passed. All creatures of magical descent were to be locked away, and given no rights or freedoms. The thought of it appaled me, but I knew that the ministry wouldn't do that, unless they thought it was the right thing to do. So I went about my daily life, not questioning the authorities. My constant companion, Milo, was always with me. That is, until the day he vanished, the day that I realized he was more than just a cat.

Lucinda looked to the young unicorn - a beautiful young foal and its mother. Such a sweet sight, indeed! Too bad that she had to bear them most unwelcome news.
"I've been around the world many times, my dears, and have seen many things that I wish I hadn't." she trilled regretfully. "In other parts of the world, trolls, giants, centaurs - even glories of unicorns like yourselves - have been actively hunted and hurt by Wizards. I fear the age of peace between wizards and magicals is coming to an end. But fear not! There are protections on this forest that go beyond what they can break through. You are safe here, both of you."

Xie looked confused, "But they humans up at the castle seem so harmless and kind, why would the harm us?" At this point, Jei had caught up. Kie was looking apprehensive, and rather worried. The mother glanced at her two children before saying,
"Xie, we cannot quite understand. Perhaps they are afraid of the unknown, or those who are different." She then turned her head upwards to the pheonix, "What must I do to ensure the safety of my two foals? To aid in protecting the forest?"

I watched the Phoenix and the Unicorns before making my presence known. "Are you talking about the War?" I asked.

I had fled, because Violet had started to suspect that I was more than just a cat. She had been giving me funny glances for a while, like she was unsure about me. I wandered into the streets of London, unsure of which direction I should take. That is, until I heard a very faint voice, that seemed to speak through me. It mentioned a war, but what war, I did not know. All I knew was that I felt drawn to that sound, and so started to head off in that direction.

Lucinda looked to the vampire and nodded. "Yes, that is exactly what I am talking about." She returned her attention to the unicorns. "Because of the nature of the forest, you've been sheltered against the happenings everywhere else. For the moment, Hogwarts and its students are trying not to be involved in this - there are children being taught, after all! There is no way any headmaster would be foolish enough to risk their students, and a few of the Professors will even offer us assistance if need be."

Kei nodded impatiently, "yes, yes," She agreed, "But what must I do? What must Jei and Xie do? All I want is my children safe." Jei snorted in disagreement,
"I want to help and fight!" He said determinedly, "It'll be something, trying to fight wizards."

Following the sound, or more the feeling behind it, I found myself at a train station. I did not know why I was there, and the feeling was fast fading away. Suddenly, I noticed a swirl of cloak in front of me. I looked just in time to see a figure pass through a barrier that I could only consider to be magical. Taking my chances, I followed, slinking in the shadows. Passing through the barrier, I found myself surrounded by jostling figures, all boarding a steam engine. Without really knowing why, I hopped on board through one of the open doorways, wending my way through the feet of children, until I found an empty space in a compartment, and curled up to take a nap.

"Your children will be safe, I give you my solemn promise of that. I may be a Vampire but I DON'T bite humans or animals. My blood is provided for me from those animals that are sick and dying."

Lucinda considered them for a moment. "For now, the best you can do is prepare yourselves. Hogwarts will not oppose us, but the Ministry - the most powerful group of humans who make laws for this land and others - will come after you. Be leery of anyone who enters this forest, for they may not treat you kindly. Somday, there will be a final battle. When that day comes, we'll fight together."
She bowed her head respectfully at them. "I remain here now, for this part of the world is where it all began. It will end here as well. My name is Lucinda. If ever there is a time you need my aid, just think my name and I shall come."

I was flying around the grounds of Hogwarts, checking on my 'friend' when I came across someone else that I knew quite well. "Lucinda! How are you doing lately? It's been a while since we last spoke. Wasn't it during the last War? The one with Voldemort?"

Kei nodded her head, looking at her two children and making a note to keep them close, closer then she had been. Xie was looking worried, and the young unicorn kept sending glances toward the school, however Jei looked ecstatic.
"Is here going to be an army of some sort?" He questioned excitedly.

Lucinda glanced to the right of her, but no, it couldn't be! "A-Acidious?" she breathed, her voice trembling with a sudden weakness. But then she snapped herself out of it. "Yes, it has been quite a while. How are you, old friend?"

"Maybe there will and maybe there won't" I teased the young Unicorn.
"Oh my dear Lucinda. Life's been fun for me. Keeping up with the other Phoenixes, naturally they still aren't that accepting of a cross breed but I feel that they are finally coming to terms with what happened. Plus I've been busy keeping an eye on one of my charges" I did the Phoenix sign language word 'Vampire' whilst nodding in Lexie's direction.

"Yes, there will be. In times of crisis, more creatures will come to seek this as one of the few safe havens left." Lucinda replied. "But that will not happen over night."

I was awoken by someone tugging roughly at my tail. I stuck out my claws and bared my teeth, trying to get back at my attacker. I gouged into tissue, leaving my mark, before jumping down from the luggage rack which I had been sleeping on. Before I reached the compartment door though, it slid close, trapping me inside. "Do you know who this cat belongs to?" a girl was asking. "No, but why should it matter," replied the boy who had pulled my tail. "It's probably just some stupid first year who left the cage open." The girl gave the boy a meaningful look. "Well then, we shouldn't shut it in here, we should let it go and find his owner." With that, she slid open the door, and I bolted.

"I am glad. I was worried about you for a time." I turned to face the vampire girl. "It is a pleasure to meet you, my dear. I hope that you feel comfortable and safe here. We are all friends in the name of circumstance. Just as long as you respect others in this forest, I'm sure they shall respect you in turn."

"OI! Someone has to be there to keep an eye on you and what do I keep telling you? DON'T CALL ME ACE!!!

Jei looked disappointed- he wanted to fight. To protect the forest, it would be interesting. Xei on the other hand took a deep breath before finally asking,
"What will become of the hogwarts children, if they aid us?"

"I shall add my acid bombs to anyone who dare harm a child within this castle!" I growled so menecingly that sparks of green started to shoot out. Luckily no one was within my way.
"I shall also harm those that trespass within this school."

Xei nodded, the children (Well, some of them) she was fond of. She didn't think she'd be able to watch on of them get harmed. Kei however, was a bit exasperated with her daughter... Yes, it was the right thing to worry, but Kei ddin't want her children involved. It didn't help Kei's worry that Jei was practically jumping up and down at the prospect of a fight... he didn't seem to understand the severity of the situation
