Eleazar hesitated for a moment, trying to figure out who it would be best to send this seeming intelligent women too. "Depends," he finally said, "What are these Diagrams of, and whats wrong with them?" Eleazar tried to seem patient. This woman seemed to be newer and younger so it was possible that this was her first time putting in a complain such as this- he wanted to make sure to do it properly. It would never do to teach a fellow employee to ignore such mistakes, or deal with them wrongly.

I breathed a sigh of relief. This man did treat me seriously. I couldn't help but smile wider.
"It's-well-everything, the information is outdated. I know it was taken from the best books, but it's just all wrong! Is there someone in charge maybe who I can distribute the correct diagrams to? It's the magical creature diagrams, sir, " I replied.

Ah, So the Ministry was having the diagrams of Magical Creatures looked over? It certainly made sense, considering the current situation. The more they knew about the monsters that they would be fighting, the better. Eleazar became a bit more serious as he spoke, "Well, it's a good thing you caught it if it's indeed false. I fear that problems involving Magical Creatures are going to be arising sometime soon... I would say that we should take them down to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures." Eleazar made sure to emphasize, and smile slightly on 'we'. He wanted to make sure that this woman was taken seriously by the older people down there- they could be a bit near-sighted and vicious when someone told them that they were wrong. Anyways, he was a bit curious as to how it all turned out. It helped that the lady was pretty, and making her happy seemed like a good choice.

I beamed. He was so kind! Mother was right, be kind and receive kindness in return.
"Thank you! I've only been working here for the last couple of months. Ever since I graduated from Hogwarts I've been trying to find a job, but all the jobs I'm qualified for require training that's so expensive," I babbled, "Are you sure you're not busy? I wouldn't want to take you away from anything!"
I looked at him through my lashes. He was so kind and helpful!

The woman became animate fairly quickly, and Eleazar couldn't help but smile- she gave off quite a happy aura. So, she was just out of hogwarts, Young as Eleazar had suspected. "Life just out of Hogwarts can be rough for a few years, it took me a while to get through my Auror training and get settled." He remembered vividly panicked the day after he graduated, unsure of what to do next. It was his sister who had slapped some sense into her brother , telling him to calm down and go and apply for an Auror job.
"Don't worry," he continued, "I just finished through some reports, so I have a bit of free time. I'd prefer to make sure this is done right anyway." At that, Eleazar turned toward the elevator. The needed to go up two floors, "By the way," he called over his shoulder, "My name's Eleazar, you?"

"Alice," I responded, following him. "Life hasn't been too bad for me. My land lady's quite fair, though I think it's because I babysit for her kids when she's out. Making ends meet, you know? Being an Auror must be so tough though. Especially with the tensions brewing."

Alice, a pretty name for a pretty woman. "It's not so hard, at least not yet. Mostly it was just stressful to get through the training- They make sure there's no one weak-hearted coming in. Thought, I'm sure it'll get harder if this tension ever turns into outright battles. Which is quite possible from what I've been hearing." As they walked, Eleazar couldn't help but wonder... "Say, what brought these diagrams to your attention anyway?"

"I work as a clerk, handling grammar and spelling, organisation, that kind of thing. When I saw them and knew they were wrong, so training is hard? Glad I never decided to become an Auror," I said, forcing a laugh.
The conversation was headed in a place I wasn't ready to talk about. The burning house still too fresh in my memory. The only thing left was my parents honor, and their memory. If society knew what they'd done, even that would be lost. He seemed so nice, I could trust him, couldn't I? No, not yet, I'd only just met him.

"Training for an Auror is difficult, it was like having N.E.W.Ts everyday, but once you get through it, it's completely worth it." After a moment, he continued, "So a Clerk huh? You don't seem the type for such a desk job, Have any big plans for the future?"

I breathed an Inward sigh of relief that he seemed to not be interested in looking too deeply into this. He was so kind, and his eyes so gentle and warm.
"NEWTs everyday! That's terrible!" I sympathized. "I don't really know what I'm doing right now. Just making ends meet. I used to want to heal, but if we're at the brink of war, well, I just want to help."

"It was pure torture," Eleazar nodded in agreement, a smile of amusement on his lips. "I can understand that. It seems life is a broken rope bridge, and your trying to hold together this two ends but they want to just fall. Stupid builders couldn't build it properly." He thought about the prospect of healing for a second, "Healers will definitely be in high demand once this war begins. Too bad it can be expensive to get the training. You could always go over to hogwarts and see if you can get an apprenticeship with the nurse there, As long as you were a good student I'm sure they'd take you. You'd get a place to stay, food and training all in one- even if it doesn't really pay."

He was cute when he smiled. He seemed like someone who had plenty to smile about.
"That's so dismal. I like to think that my bridge is just under some strain, the fixers will be by soon. I did think about apprenticing, I helped the nurse when I was in school, she offered me the job, but my parents recently passed, and since I'm the next direct family member, I have to pay their bills, and money is tight. Goblins are demanding for loans to be paid. Looks like we're here."
And indeed, the elevators opened.

"Those repair men better hurry up," As the elevators opened up to the fourth floor. As Eleazar stepped out, he frowned a bit before replying delicately, "I'm sorry to here about you parents, I know I would have a hard time dealing with their death so early out of school."

I followed him, thinking over my reply.
"Everyone dies, and I know they died for a good reason," I said, though I knew only their murder was well reasoned. "I took it badly at first, terribly one might say, but all its left me is a mountain of debt and loneliness."
In my mind, all I could remember was learning what they'd done. They betrayed everything I once thought of them. However, all the kind words and outrage at their murder reminded me that their ideals were what made them my parents. The people who had done the things they did were someone else. I just had to pay their debts.

After walking about the Ministry for a while, Maxwell decided that it was time visit his friend in the Department of Regulations. There were people he needed to check on - both allies and enemies alike. If someone didn't play their part right, everything he'd worked for would be taken apart piece by piece. And that just couldn't happen.
He thought back to the source of his ire and scowled. Magical animals could not be trusted, no matter how intelligent they are. Dark, Light and even neutral creatures must be contained for the Greater Good. One day, the world would thank him for this shift in dynamics. Until then, Maxwell would keep his involvement on a need-to-know basis. Even if it meant lying and betraying so many innocents.
It was a little bit of a walk, but Maxwell didn't mind. Nothing wrong with a little exercise. After a moment of careful scrutiny, he found himself smirking. Eleazar Bellard and Alice Boot, wasn't it? Yes, he easily recognized them from their files. Eleazer happened to be a decently skilled auror, and just innocent enough to sway. According to her file, Alice seemed to be an expert on Magical Creatures, and knows how to heal and kill them better than anyone else. If he could just get her on his side...
"Good day to you both." Maxwell said, with his signature mysterious grin. "It is a pleasure to see such happy faces within these dark hours."

"A very wise take on life." Eleazar found himself liking this girl, she definitely knew how the world worked, and she could handle herself in it.
It didn't take long for the two to reach the office of head of the Department Fore regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Taking a deep breath, Eleazar knocked twice.

"Hello" I said chirpily to the man at the door. He was handsome, but strange. Like he knew things that nobody else did. "We're here to file a complaint!"

Eleazar quickly recognized the other- he was a well known man with quite a bit of influence on the Ministry. He was a bit worried that Alice's comment could be taken in a different manner, as if against the ministry, so Eleazar added, "Well, Not quite a complaint. Rather we found from mis-leading or otherwise false in some diagrams we thought would be best to bring up and fix."

Eleazar seemed nervous around the new stranger. I wondered why, he seemed so kind. I blushed when he complimented me. Unlike Eleazar who seemed close to me in age and friendly, he seemed much older, more mysterious.
"The information on the diagram is incorrect sir," I replied shyly, "We wanted to have it addressed."
I glanced at Eleazar for support. He seemed to know what he was doing, and I wanted him by my side. I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of whoever this influential man was.

I was walking towards the Floor network in order to tell my Father what I'd been listening to in the lifts when I saw him talking to 2 people. "Father! I didn't know you'd be here today. I was just on my way to Floor you."

Eleazar nodded his agreement, gesturing toward the papers that Alice held. "She came around looking for someone too help her with it earlier. She was smart enough to realize that some of the Magical Creature diagrams seem to be a bit out dated, and we figured that it'd be best that it were to be corrected. With current tension about, we need to be as prepared as we can- with accurate information."
Hearing the other voice, Eleazar turned and nodded his greetings before returning his gaze to Maxwell.
