It had been difficult to track Marigold down - the woman had been avoiding him for three days now, surprisingly well. But in the end, Maxwell located her in an elevator. Purely accidental, but within his good fortune. He cast a Stopping Charm on it, so that they wouldn't be interrupted by unwanted visitors.
"I'm trying to be patient with you, Marigold." he spoke frostily. "I've given you six months to fulfill your end of the bargain, and you've yet to come through." Marigold glared at him, far from intimidated by him - one of the many reasons she made a good partner.
"It's not my fault!" she hissed furiously. "There simply isn't any files remaining!"
Maxwell crossed his arms. "You are sorely mistaken, my dear. I know for a fact that those files exist."
"Then why don't YOU find them? Or better yet, have our esteemed Minister do the job! He ranks higher than either of us do!"
"But you're the one sleeping with the warden - in his office, I might add! Surely you've had plenty of chances to find them." Marigold blushed and turned her head, as though unable to look at him. Seeing that his impatience wasn't helping, Maxwell decided to change tactics.
"My dear Sunshine, I'm sorry for my harsh behavior." he whispered soothingly, gently placing his hand upon her shoulder. "I know you're doing your best, but I need you to hurry. The world is in danger if you do not get this information, and you're the only one who can get it without suspicion."
Marigold's mournful gaze met his own. "I know that, Maxwell. I do. But it's been so hard all by myself. I'm so lonely."
He smiled kindly and embraced her. "My dear, I apologize for putting you through this, but I need you. You're my only hope." Marigold sniffled. "Shh... no more tears. It'll be alright."
They remained like that for a time, before she eventually let go of him. "I'll try harder." she murmured sadly.
"And that's all I ask, Sunshine. You're important to me, both with and without your unique position."
Marigold nodded. Feeling both slightly annoyed and hopeful that things would get done properly now, Maxwell released the Stopping Spell and allowed the elevator to continue its course.

Alice sighed as she stood outside the elevator. What was taking it so long? She had to deliver some papers to the Atrium before she made her way home. Her boss had caught her just as she was leaving. Maybe tonight she'd get to relax, and rest for a bit. It had been a while since she took a proper nap.
As she watched the elevator moving slowly to her floor, she shifted her weight. Today had been such an odd day, especially lunch. Mr. Rosebane had been ever so kind to her, and the idea of meeting him at a cafe after hours seemed intimidating. Most likely he meant nothing by it and was just being kind. Yes, what was it.
As if on cue, the elevator doors swung open to reveal an older woman standing beside Mr. Rosebane. Alice almost dropped her jaw in surprise. Luckily she reacted with just opening her eyes wide and squeaking out, "Mr. Rosebane?"

"Good day, Miss Alice." Maxwell said pleasantly, shoving any untoward thoughts behind his Occlumency walls. "A coincidence seeing you like this. I would like you to meet close friend of mine. Marigold Jones." Perhaps Marigold was still troubled, because she didn't show any of her usual signs of jealousy toward Alice - much to his relief.
She murmured a faint "hello" before stalking off. Most likely to go home for the evening. With any luck, that would mean another date with the warden of Azkaban.
"Sorry about that. She's been having a very rough time as of late."

Alice watched the other woman go with slight dread. The doors of the elevator closed, and once again, Alice was alone with Mr. Rosebane.
"It's quite alright, she looked rather stressed," said Alice, keeping her eyes hovering just by Mr. Rosebane's shoulder. "Are you headed home as well, Mr. Rosebane?"

Rhea was growing uncomfortable with the amount of people, and shifted weight to her other foot.
Eleazar was once again looking around the Ministry- he needed to speak to another Auror and was unable to find her as of yet.

"Why yes, I am. It has been an intense day, and I'm looking forward to a nice, relaxing evening. How about you?"

I just have to drop these papers at the Atrium, and then I'm headed home myself," replied Alice with a smile. "I can't wait to relax a bit after today, my back is so stiff sitting on those hard chairs."

Maxwell winced sympathetically. "Yes, I can imagine how straining that would be." he offered his best smile to her. "They say its supposed to rain later this evening. I trust you have a way home?"

"I'm going to have to walk a bit, my house is outside Diagon, in a muggle area, so I can't apparate. But I think I'll floo to The Leaky Cauldron and wait there until the rain dies down if it looks bad." explained Alice.

Maxwell frowned. "Not to sound intrusive, but that doesn't sound safe at all. I've been that way before and come across thieves that wait in the hidden abbeys and alleys. Would you like a ride home? My limo will take you anywhere you wish to go."

Alice was once again taken aback by the thoughtfulness of the man. Any other time, she would have refused out right, but considering the area she lived in wasn't even safe on a regular day, how bad would rain make it?
"I-I'm not sure, would we be leaving directly from here? It's a bit of a drive," said Alice, pursing her lips slightly in response.

"That is fine with me. I was thinking of stopping at that cafe we were talking about earlier, anyway." He smiled at her. "You can join me if you want, or I can simply drop you off at your place."

Alice felt hesitant as the doors to the Atrium opened. A man like Mr. Rosebane had invited her for dinner, could she refuse him, particularly after all his kindess today? As they walked out of the elevator, Alice turned to reply.
"That sounds lovely, I'd be delighted to accompany you Mr. Rosebane," said Alice, feeling her heart hammering in her chest as her nerves tingled. "I'll just drop these off and we can head out."
After his reply, Alice trotted over to the Front Desk and dropped the papers off, feeling her entire body trembling from fright at dining with such a mature man. His smile enchanting her even now.

"In that case, I shall wait here. My limo waits outside at the exact time every day, and will wait until we're ready." He offered her his winning smile - the one that every woman he encountered fell for before.

Eleazar had decided, after being unable to find his coworker, to go to the front desk and see if they had ever come in. When he got to the desk, he noticed a familiar face and smiled,
"Hello Alice, How are you doing?"

Alice was startled out of her frightened reverie to see the warm face of Elezar smiling at her. She almost wanted to hug him in relief and happiness to see him.
"Eleazar! I haven't seen you all day! I'm fine. I was just dropping off a few papers before I headed out to dinner, how have you been?" asked Alice with a warm smile

Eleazar tilted his head slightly and replied in a teasing tone,
"I'm doing fine, But who might Miss. Alice be dining with tonight?"

Alice smile dimmed at Eleazar's question. She suddenly realized how terrible it would look to Eleazar that she'd ignored his warning and was headed to dinner with Maxwell. She thought for a bit about lying, but after all of Eleazar'd kindness, it felt wrong.
"Maxwell Rosebane invited me to dinner to return a favor," she breathed quickly, "So what have you been up to?"

Maxwell Rosebane was after Alice. Eleazar didn't know the girl well enough to know if she had anything that Maxwell would want- perhaps he didn't want anything other then a girl to play around with. Did he want the knowledge that Alice seemed to have on Magical creatures? Eleazar didn't know, and his face became wary as he ignored Alice's question,
"What kind of favor?" He asked testily.

Alice immediately felt guilty, and she looked to her feet. Eleazar sounded angry. She hoped that he wasn't too angry with her.
"He helped me out at lunch. I passed out, and he took care of me by buying me some lunch and just waking me up and making sure I was alright. I caused him to be late for a meeting," explained Alice quickly.

Eleazar was torn- he wanted to be angry that Maxwell was up to something, and was involving Alice, and he felt he should be thankful that Maxwell helped her. Perhaps the man wasn't all bad. Or maybe he just really wants something his thoughts countered. After battling it out, he finally replied,
"Just... Be careful all right? Don't let him play with you."

Alice couldn't help but beam at Eleazar, relieved he didn't seem too angry. In fact, his worry made her slightly pleased, he cared for her. He was such a good person.
"Don't worry, it's just a dinner, I'm certain he'll forget all about me tomorrow. He is a rather important man after all," said Alice, "In fact, he's probably just trying to be polite and make sure I eat so that I don't pass out again."

Privately, Eleazar thought that both of those theories were unlikely, but he decided not to voice them- Alice was an adult and could take care of herself.
"Well then... Good luck I guess. If he does anything stupid, just tell me and I'll make sure to have a little chat with him." Though it probably wasn't the best idea to anger someone with so much influence over his boss- Eleazar could handle it.

"Well, I'll be on my way then, Maxwell's waiting for me. And thanks, I'll need your luck, I'm terrified that I'll say or do the wrong thing. Tell you what, I'll come find you and we can have lunch tomorrow and I'll let you know everything, I like talking to you. See you tomorrow," said Alice with a smile and a quick wave, as she turned and began walking away towards Maxwell.

Lucinda couldn't help but notice that Rhea was starting to get nervous, and trilled a few notes that would hopefully soothe her. This seemed to work on humans all the time, but she wasn't sure how a werewolf would feel about it.
----
Maxwell waited patiently for Alice to return, and thought back over today's events. Not only had he managed to bring the girl closer to him, but he'd attracted a journalist that he might be able to use when the time was right. And best of all, Garrison was being more than helpful. All in all, this had been a great day. He grinned as he saw her walk toward him.
"Ah, there you are, Miss Alice. Are you ready to go?"

Eleazar nodded, and waved as well when Alice left. Taking a deep breath, he asked the receptionist if his friend had come in that day, found that they were sick and decided to return to his office.
---
Rhea glanced over at the pheonix on his shoulder, enjoying her few notes of comfort. It was odd how much better you could feel with Lucinda's presence.

Harrigan listened to the phoenix trilling softly. While he knew they were not intended for him, he could just feel the calm aura radiating.
"So," he continued, calm as ever, "Do we ever introduce ourselves?"
Yew was listening to the Phoenix song with abrupt attention. The sound was one of the most beautiful she'd heard. Oh how she yearned to hear it again and again until it's every note was memorized, until-
The centaur interrupted. Yew glared at him. She had zero intention to talk to anyone here, except maybe that phoenix. They weren't tree climbers or flowers like herself and Calla.
Alice smiled back at Mr. Rosebane's smile. How could someone as nice as him have any ulterior motives?
"I'm sorry I kept you waiting, I ran into the Auror from yesterday. Shall we go then?" asked Alice.

Lucinda nodded. "I would like that very much." She looked to all of them. "My name is Lucinda. I've been on this world for 120 years now, and have seen the way the world is changing. It is a pleasure to meet you."
"I'm Acidious. Nice to meet you."
((I hope this isn't too OOC))

Maxwell frowned at the mention of Eleazar for a moment, but quickly made up for the slip. "Ah, I see. Well, are you ready to head out?"

Calla glanced around, unsure of her surroundings, where was Lexie?
"I'm Calla, like I said before, Calla Potter," said Calla.
Immediately Yew tapped her on the head, and pointed to herself, screeching in odd bow-truckly sounds. In actuality, she was simply mimicking scratching wood.
"And this is Yew, though I don't understand why she won't talk for herself," said Calla with a frown, as Yew looked pleased with herself.
Harrigan chuckled at the odd bowtruckle. Well, something interesting happened every day.
"My name is Harrigan, and I'm a 50 year old centaur content with asking questions," said Harrigan, wondering if the foal would know the purpose of butterbeer.
Alice nodded as she said, "Which way do we go to get to your limo?"
