Jei was closer to the school now. He stopped and glanced at his sister, then at the fight. He almost decided to go back. Then, he saw two humans running toward the forest for cover... This was his chance!
"Xie!" He said, "Them, We'll start with them!" Quickly, he moved to chase them, Xie reluctantly following.

Ouch, that tickled. "Was that meant to hurt?" I shouted at him before taking my dagger out and running at him.
How, how did she do that? VAMPIRE my mind screamed at me. I dodged her dagger and shot an exploding her at her. Damn, this is one bitch that won't go away!

Rhea was looking for someone she could engage with- so finally she managed to get enough courage to get out of her hiding spot, and send a 'Stupefy!' toward the first person she saw.

Marigold cried out, as the staff hit her with enough force to break one of her ribs. "You'll p-pay for th-that!"
"You're the ones that will pay." he said darkly. "I do not appreciate you entering my forest and harming the innocent."
"You creatures aren't innocent at all! You kill and torture and cause too many problems for us!" Marigold yelled, trying to ignore the pain she was in. "Avada Kedarva!" the centaur dodged the green light, causing it to harmlessly to hit the ground.

Harrigan ran with the foals, distressed, until he heard a scream. It was an ear-shattering scream. He turned to see a man advancing on a woman. He looked back at the foals. He swore to Kei he'd keep her two safe, and they'd disappeared, but the screams of the woman rang in his ears.
"Take to the centre! I'll catch up with you!" he yelled, making the split decision to help.
He ran towards the screams. An arrow was unsheathed and on his bow. He aimed, and fired at the man.
"Move ahead Bellard, I'll catch up!" yelled Chris, turning to deal with the phoenix. Her song was headed all over the place, suggesting she only vaguely knew where she was. He needed to force her into either a trap or Burning Day. His money, and pride were on the line.
He set about creating destruction, flames, cracks, anything. He hoped to switch the Phoenix to protect mode rather than attack.

Lucinda, a being of fire, could do nothing for the burning forest, and so decided that she would continue her hunt. A being of fire could only make more fire, after all, not take it away. She'd have to trust the others to deal with it - Rhea seemed to be rather capable at that so far.
"You're not getting away from me!" she screeched fiercely, hunting after the man with renewed vigor.
Rip! Tear! Agony!

Hess continued to to claw and slash at people, using his knowledge of the trees positions to swiftly escape the foliage. Continually he would go into a steep dive and attack, then swoop out over the tallest branches befo anyone could really place what had happened.

Rhea glanced back at Lucinda, who she saw was hunting down another man. In her distraction, Rhea was hit with a slicing spell, and a gash opened up in her leg. Rhea stumbled forward, gasping in pain as she kneeled over and managed to return the favor by sending off a charm that would make them feel a stabbing in their stomach.

I dodged his explosion hex and once again flew at him with the daggar, this time I managed to nick him in the arm.
"Argh!" I screamed before shooting another Crucio at her, this time a full powered one mixed in with a little Imperio that would ensure the pain lasted longer.
Ok that one deffinately hurt! Time to turn the Acid powers on, I've had enough of being a good player. This time I aimed for his leg.
The pain was unbearable, how did she manage to do that with a daggar? I wasn't going to stand for this. I transfigured a stick into a sword and managed to catch her in the stomach.

At once, Lucinda felt a sharp pain in her leg. It was shocking because the man hadn't managed to hit her with a spell. For now, she decided not to worry about it - she had to take down the leader at any costs! Without their leader, the rest would scatter.
---
"You dare use that on me?" Rodimus yelled in outrage. "I see that taking it easy on you isn't my best option now. Fine then!" And with a fierce battle cry, he charged at the human and began to hit her. Powerful, fast blows forced her down to the ground. With a loud crack! he knew he'd gotten her leg.
"Say your prayers, human." he said coldly.

After taking a deep breath, Rhea let herself fall to the ground and roll over, dodging a Furnunculus. Raising her wand she shouted "Reducto!" Only to have her opponent use a shield. Rhea was about to jump back up to her feet (With the pain in her leg still prominent), when she was hit with a strong Crucio.
Rhea gasped as she was back on the ground, the pain making her writhe. Her wand fell from her grasp, though she tried to grab it again through the pain.

After a while of setting the trees on fire, Eleazar found himself separated. He was alone in the forest, with several fires around him. It was great- he could destroy a good part of the forest with no one attacking him.
Rosemarie followed orders and continued to run, when she was what she considered far enough in the forest, she ducked behind some bushes and poked her head out- waiting for Chris. While she was down, she used a charm that would cause a powerful earth quake in a tiny area far away. Two trees fell down, hitting others as the quake moved them.

A shockwave of pain flooded through Lucinda this time, forcing her to stop her assault on the leader. With a loud cry, she started falling to the ground, but stopped when the pain did.
Now, she was starting to feel scared. Just where had that pain come from?
And then suddenly, she felt herself being pulled in a particular direction - just as before, when she found Rhea. In a matter of minutes, she found herself at the werewolf's side, writhing on the ground.
Seeing the trouble she was in, Lucinda turned on Rhea's foes and unleashed her phoenix song.
Pain! Agony! Cut!

Hess noticed a lone figure, lighting fire to the trees. He was livid, and soared down through a gap and scratched at the person with his claws, hoping to disable him. Just as he was flying back up, a spell blocked his way, forcing him to land and face off agsinst the tree-burner.

Rhea was relieved when her opponent had released the torturous curse, and she took the moment to grab her wand tightly. Then she blinked and realized why the curse was lifted- Lucinda was next to her, attacking the other wizard.
The foe felt the attack of the phoenix and sent a blasting curse toward it, putting up a shield around themselves.

The phoenix had finally given up the chase. Grimly, Chris slipped into the shadows. He disallusioned himself, and headed to find Rosemarie. A phoenix's only weakness was that they had no sense of smell. They relied on their eyes mostly for navigation. If she couldn't see him, he hoped he'd be fine.
Moving quickly, and burning trees as he went, he found Rosemarie. He went to approach her, only to see two unicorns moving towards her, faster than he was. He removed the disallusion, and gave chase.

Lucinda dodged the curse and placed herself directly in front of Rhea. "Are you alright?" she asked, no longer feeling that fierce anger that had consumed her before - concern took its place instead.

Rosemarie was looking around, when she turned and saw the two unicorns. Jei was in front, and he immediately went to rear up and attack Rosemarie. Luckily, she rolled out of the way quickly and jumped to her feet.
Xie was not far behind, and she danced nervously behind Jei and the human girl, unsure of what to do.
---
Rhea looked at Lucinda, slightly surprised, she managed to shrug, "Could be better... Though I'm fine, Thanks." She proceeded to point her wand above the phoenix and shouted, "Deprimo!" The opponent proceeded to fall down, unable to stand against the wind.

Marigold forced herself to get up, ignoring the pain coursing through her body. She refused to leave this battle without killing at least one magical creature, and the centaur happened to be that one. But no, she couldn't attack this guy head on... that was only getting her beaten. What could she do? How could she possibly overcome him?
She managed to avoid another hit with the staff, and noticed a dagger lying on the ground. It wasn't long before an idea formed.
She forced herself into a submissive position. "I give up." she said timidly. "Please, don't kill me."
---
Lucinda trilled a sigh of relief. "Good. I hate to order you around, but I need you to try and put out as many fires as you can. I'll protect you."

Chris arrived finally near Rosemarie. Dammit! The girl was too young to be scarred. He needed to save her. He looked at the second unicorn. It was best to get her out of the way. He raised his wand and sent a stunner at it, to avoid her getting involved.

Xie looked up and saw the stunner, skittishly she jumped out of the way. She faced chris and pawed the ground, moving her head to try and threaten the man with her horn. It probably looked more like she was terrified then dangerous though.
Jei was enjoying himself, the girl had send a spell of some sort at him, and he dodged it. That's when he saw the other man attack Xie. He got an idea, focusing he sent strong vibes toward Rosemarie- stronger then he normally did.
They'll fight you too... You're next... The voice told Rosemarie, she looked around, trying to find the source but found nothing. All of them will hunt you down next. They can't be trusted. She felt wave after wave of distrust and paranoia, she glanced around confused. She didn't even noticed how Jei was staring at her intensely.
Seeing how it was working, Jei became excited. He sent stronger waves then before, and Rosemarie became overwhelmed. She placed a hand on each ear and fell to her knees, screaming. Jei neighed happily- it was working!
---
Rhea nodded, turning away from the attacker and instead saying loudly, "Aguamenta!" Water spurted from her wand, and she sent it to attack the flames on the trees. Behind he, the wizard was enraged as he cast a Diffindo toward the two.

Sensing danger, Lucinda intercepted the Diffindo by making a quick barrier. It was shoddy and came apart at the spell, but at least it kept them from being killed.
Fiercely, Lucinda sent out her strongest, most deadly thoughts.
Kill! Destroy! Rip asunder!
The song itself was savage and held no trace of the warmth and compassion a regular song would.

The wizard fell to the ground in response to the phoenix's song. He did not get up.
Rhea was continuing with her water spells, trying to enlarge it and quench the flames.

Chris was horrified at the screams Rosemarie was shrieking. He needed to help his trainee! He couldn't help but think of his own daughter. As he stared at the unicorn pawing the ground, he moved quickly. He couldn't risk attack. Gathering all his calm, he pointed his wand directly at the unicorn. There was only one easy option.
"Avada Kedavra!" he hissed, and then moved towards Rosemarie, as the unicorn fell to the ground.

Lucinda weaved a stronger barrier with her song, one that would follow Rhea and keep her safe. "Let me know if you grow weary. I'll restore your health!" she called out, singing and watching and waiting... ready for the next attack.

Xie was surprised again, and this time she didn't manage to move. The young unicorn fell to the ground, the life draining from her panicked eyes.
Jei heard Xie's body hit the ground, and he whipped around, breaking his eye contact with the screaming girl. Jei looked at the man and reared up, snarling viciously as he tried to pound down on the man.

Chris was a battle-hardened Auror. An enraged young unicorn was no match for his physical prowess and skill. He sent a powerful blast hex at the unicorn, and then several stunners and a Killing Curse. The last one out of rage as he saw Rosemarie's limp body. Just what had the creature done to her?

Jei managed to only just get out of the way. He brought down his front legs to the side to dodge , and took several steps into the forest. There he fixed his gaze onto Chris and attempted to give him the same treatment he had given Rosemarie.

Rodimus lowered his staff, but kept it on his person in case she tried to pull something on him. They remained silent for a while, as the sounds of the battle echoed all around them. They were very much alone.
"Why does your kind fight mine?" he inquired, deciding to see if he could find a bit of peace. "We of the Forbidden Forest have never harmed anyone without good cause. We don't inhabit your lands or pillage your homes. So why is this necessary?"
The human girl seemed thoughtful for a moment, before answering. "Magical creatures cause too much trouble. Over the years, they've become harder to keep under control, and many humans die because of it. That is why we try to defend ourselves by ridding ourselves of you."
Rodimus frowned. He couldn't deny that others outside of the forest had become more careless as time went on - enjoying their freedom a little too much. Even so... "That does not give you the right to attack us. We forest dwellers look after the students of Hogwarts - for the most part. We've done nothing against you, and yet you chose to attack our kin. Are you no better than the creatures who attack innocent people on their own accord? Are you humans not the same as they?"
Marigold didn't know how to respond to that. It did seem unfair of them, when he put it that way. The centaur exuded an air of wisdom and understanding. For a single, glorious moment, she could see a world where all the different species of the world lived in a peaceful harmony. It was so simple, so easy...
And then, she remembered Maxwell. The kind, compassionate man who had made her a part of his group. The brave, confident leader - the man she adored more than life itself. The vision shattered around her, and her will became as hard as stone. "I guess I can see where you're coming from." she admitted, inching her hand toward the knife. The centaur showed no signs of noticing. And that was just fine with her.

Chris suddenly felt doubts entering his mind. He suspected Maxwell of cheating him off his money, that the war was more than just a sinister power game, that his colleagues would turn on him. He snorted. These were things he considered regularly, the unicorn didn't scare him. Then more doubts surfaced. His daughter had wanted to leave him. Maxwell would kill him. Chris pushed them out with his Occlumency shields, glaring at the unicorn.
"You got nothing on me," he growled.
