"No, I can't say that I have." She said, concerned. "I can help you look if you want - I'm scanning the forest for others anyway. Are you injured at all?"

The unicorn shook her head, "I have a cut here and there, but nothing serious, and I'd be grateful for your help."

Lucinda eyed her warily. Yes, it was true that the injuries weren't too bad, but still... "Alright. I'll keep an eye out while flying. If I find them first, I'll be sure to trill for you."
And with that, she flew high in to the air once more, though her body screamed in protest.

Kei nodded as Lucinda took off once more, she watched the phoenix for a moment before continuing in her search.
Rhea discovered a few people that needed help, there were two vampires, one of which had an broken leg and broken wrist. She directed it's friend to bring the injured to an area she had decided to send all the injured too, until Lucinda could help them. Another centaur has a nasty cut in his shoulder that was bleeding profusely- he thanked Rhea as she used a spell to bind the wound until he could be healed.

As Harrigan strolled quietly with Lexie, he felt himself searching for a conversation topic. He'd ask about humans, but right now, seeing the devastation, he didn't want to know anything. He couldn't help but think back to what she'd done for him, licking his back clean of blood and wounds. The memory was both embarrassing and confusing, why did she go to such a length for him when getting help would have been easier on her?
"So," he began, "Sunshine, do you have plans for after the war? Maybe a sweetheart on the side, taking your foal to a shiny castle, buying yourself a hamburger, what do you want to win in the war?"

Lexie was a little thrown at that question and once she thought about it she realized what it was that she wanted. "Family" she whispered, "I want nothing more than a family. Husband, children, the whole works. Oh and I could seriously do with a burger right now" she added with a cheeky grin.

Kei, after a while of searching, caught a familiar scent. Harrigan! Desperately trying to ignore the fact she did not scent her foals, she ran and soon saw the centaur- the girl... Lexie was it? Was with him. Approaching them as calmly as she could she greeted,
"Hello Harrigan, Lexie." She nodded to each in turn,

Eventually, Lucinda found that she was almost at the point where she couldn't fly. Her wings, and her body just wouldn't respond anymore. Letting out a small, tired trill, she flashed herself back to Rhea, so that she could start healing the other creatures before her body gave out.

Rhea blinked in surprise as Lucinda flashed in front of her. She had just finished telling another werewolf (Who didn't believe Rhea was a werewolf, as apparently all werewolves had to be huge and strong as he had been.) that she was not a ministry Auror posing as a magical creature. He had walked off grumbling, still unsure whether he believed her or not.
"Lucinda!" She exclaimed, "You look tired."

Lucinda trilled. "Yes, but we all are. How are you holding up?"

"I'm perfectly fine," Rhea replied, well she was still slightly sore from the crucio, but she wasn't about to say it. "I'm probably one of the least harmed, thanks to you." She gave the phoenix a small, thankful smile. "Do you want to rest for a bit? I can walk us to where I sent the injured that I couldn't help."

"I would appreciate that very much, Rhea." Lucinda said gratefully. "Would you be so kind as to carry me for a while? I need to conserve every bit of magic that I can."

"Of course," Rhea replied, reaching out to hold the phoenix in her arms. After making she was not holding to tightly, Rhea began her way to the spot in the woods that had several tree stumps, and was free from flames, where she had sent the injured.

Lucinda nuzzled against her chest in a show of gratitude, feeling oddly content. There was just something rather nice about her...something that felt like home.
(( I know this sounds weird, but trust me, this isn't romantic or anything squicky like that. Lucinda is merely feeling the bond of familiar and master form))

(Don't worry, I understand perfectly ) Rhea smiled down at the bird- she seemed content. It took only a few minutes for Rhea to walk the distance into the forest, where several creatures sat on the various stumps with various wounds and injuries. Rhea carried Lucinda to the first one- the vampire with a broken leg and a broken wrist.

It took a long while for Hess to get over what happened to his family. The other thestrals tried to help him, though he kept his distance. Part of the reason he did this was because the other foals gave him funny looks and the other was because they liked to taunt him by flying, while he was stuck on the ground, his injury not fully healed.
Time went by and Hess turn from a foal, into a fully fledged thestral. He would be allowed to pull the carriages of Hogwarts, a task he had been very much looking forward too, having never seen a human but from a distance. He walked down to Hogsmeade and was harnessed on to his own carriage. Soon, students came and clambered into it. They seemed nice, though none of them payed him any mind. Dutifully, he carried them to the doors of the castle, then turned and headed back to Hogsmeade to get his harness off.
All in all, it was a nice experience and he enjoyed himself. He watched in envy as the other thestrals, once released, flew back towards the forest. Then, he started slowly walking back towards the forest himself.
He had just made it through the gates, and was headed for his favourite clearing in the trees when he heard a someone. He turned and saw a tall man stumbling up to him, obviously just having left the feast at the castle.
"What have we here," the man slurred. "A horsie that canna fly? Why don't you fly horsie, like all your other rotten kin?"
Hess snorted at the man, disgusted by how he was acting. The man stared hard at him after that, then pulled something off of his belt. "I'll teach you how to fly horsie, oh you can be sure of that!" he stated, then cracked a whip along Hess' back. Hess whinnied as it touched his flesh, but before he could run, it came down again.
"Not working for you?" the man laughed after the fifth lash. "Well how about we heat things up a bit?" Suddenly, the whip was glowing with a fierce looking fire, and the man brought it down upon his back, leaving a deep, bloody gouge. At this point, Hess' instincts kicked in, and he spread his wings wide, gave them a few flaps, then launched into the air, the cruel mans taunting laughter ringing through the air behind him. He flew frantically into the forest, blinded by rage and pain, until he collided with a tree, and knew no more.
When he awoke the next time, he had forgotten everything even his name. The other thestrals told him that much, though they refused to tell him anything more. It was infuriating, so he avoided them as much as possible. All the foals laughed when he was near, and he felt hurt by their behaviour.
Hess remembered all this as he lay unconcious on the forest floor, his wing bleeding through the hole that had been punctured in it.

Lucinda yanwed, and looked at her first injuries to heal. "Where does it hurt?" she inquired, hopping on the vampire's lap.
"My leg and wrist, I think they're broken." he groaned, taking a sharp intake of air.
"Well I'll take care of that." she whispered comfortingly. "Just relax." It wasn't hard to cry - all she had to do was think about her failures and the tears came swiftly. She only allowed five drops per bone, though. The less magic she used, the better.

Harrigan was startled by Kei's appearance, and he immediately became worried.
"Kei! Have you found Xie and Jei yet?" he asked.
Then, with a voice of guilt and bitterness, "I got seperated from the two in the heat of battle!"

Her first response was anger, but Kei managed to rein that in, in favor of finding the two foals. "I'm afraid not, I've been looking for awhile now."
---
Rhea didn't like seeing Lucinda shed the tears. Though she knew it was necessary to heal all of the hurt, she didn't like it. Rhea could tell that they were more then just healing tears- Lucinda was truly sad, and it disheartened Rhea. However, she put aside her feelings and instead continued to bring Lucinda to each injured creature.

And so the the healing continued. With each creature, Lucinda offered words of assurance, of comfort and shed the tears necessary to help them recover. Each one made her feel more and more guilty. Was this what it was like for Fawkes' beloved Master Albus, who had led a war against the evil Voldemort? Lucinda felt herself sicken at the thought. Things were going to be so much tougher to deal with, now.

Harrigan felt guilt wash over him.
"Kei, I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry," he said, desperate to convey his message. "I won't rest tonight until they are found."

Kei shook her head, deciding that her anger would not help anything, "There is nothing to apologize for. It is not your fault that there was a battle that distracted you, and probably encouraged Jei to run off." After glancing into the forest she hesitantly added, "Though I would appreciate any help in searching for them."

"I won't rest, let's head that way," said Harrigan.
He immediately moved forward, leading the group into an open clearing. He was determined to bring Xie and Jei back to their mother. He parted branches, and mourned for the loss of the trees. He looked to the stars for guidance.
Then he saw the body. He recognized it, and fell to the ground. He had failed!
"Oh god, Kei, I-
But he didn't know what to say.

Kei had been getting more worried with each step. Something felt off. Then, she heard Harrigan's voice. Whipping her head around, she followed his view and saw her.
"Xie!" She shouted, almost relieved. It didn't click that, while this was Xie, it wasn't her. Kei quickly trotted up to her daughter's body. She leaned down and nudged the body, wanting it to get up and move. Was she asleep? Maybe Jei had told her to stay as he looked for Kei- she had fallen asleep. Yes, that was it.
But Xie didn't wake up. Kei nudged her again, "Xie, get up!" Her voice sounded desperate, and broke at the end. She knew that her baby girl was dead- but she didn't want to know it. Kei folded her legs under her and lay next to Xie, Her voice was much quieter as she hardly whispered, "Xie... please, just get up!"

Harrigan stared at the young unicorn, his heart breaking. How had he let this happen? It was his fault, entirely his fault. He felt tears sting his eyes, and he turned away from Kei. He could say nothing to help her anymore. Nothing could be done. He had failed,

It took a few minutes for Kei to be able to stand again. She nuzzled the dead girl's mane a few times, trying to assure herself that Xie, though dead, would be all right wherever she was now. Xie was fine, she was happy. Kei had to think that.
As Kei rose to her feet she looked around and managed to say, "We... We need to find Jei. He must have run off."

Harrigan nodded, his throat tight. He looked to the sky, feeling miserable. He looked around until he saw the faintest traces of hoof prints, prints similar to Xie's.
"He went that way, we'll find him," said Harrigan out loud, more to convince himself than anyone. "He's alright. He has to be."

Kei nodded, before pausing. Why hadn't she thought of it before?
"Wait a moment," She said softly, "I'm going to try and use my gift to locate him." She closed her eyes and focused on her son- and then, her vision was clouded with the image of a well known area to the Unicorns. It was a place where, on the full moon, light would filter through the trees and hit a fallen log. It had no religious value to the Unicorns, though it was rather spectacular, seeing the light glint off the moss. She opened her eyes,
"I know where he is." Kei didn't wait for a reply, before she took off in the correct direction- a bit to the right of the tracks.
