Well, we finally have our own place now! Isn't that awesome, folks? Now we'll have an easier time with people who need to catch up...
This page is for the Forbidden Forest and its current residents only. The only way any of the human characters show up is if they're Hogwarts students, a battle is taking place there, or something happens otherwise. DO NOT use the old area for role play anymore!
Summary of the old thread:
Lucinda has started to do everything in her power to help ready the others for war. The centaurs are currently striving to defend as many of the innocent as possible. We have a cast of interesting such as Lexie the vampire, Acidious the Ravonex, centaurs Rodimus and Harrigan, Kei the unicorn and her foals, Yew the bowtruckle, and many others!
Right now, they are having a discussion about the impending battle that shall be headed their way.

I stared at the creature in fascination, as it stared back, until a low, grating voice was emitted from him, shocking me. "What kind of creature are you, that you would find me so fascinating?" it asked, although not in an unkind voice. I stared back blankly, until I shook my head and replied with what dignity I could muster, "I am half cat, half kneazle. And I was looking at you because I had never seen anything like you before. I don't even know what kind of creature you are."
Hess laughed silently to himself at this cat-kneazle's reply. This was one interesting conversation indeed and he was most intrigued. "My name is Hess. I am a Thestral, a magical being that cannot be seen by most humans, only those who have seen death and accepted the loss." He chuckled once more, though this time out loud, at the huge gaping eyes that stared back at him. "And what is your name, cat-kneazle?"
Shaking my head once more, I answered, "My name is Milo, Hess. It is a pleasure making your acquaintance."
"Yes, yes you too," Hess replied, somewhat impatient at the formalities of the cat-kneazle. "Now which year is your student in?"
I put on a quizzical expression at his question then let out an, "Ohh," as understanding hit me. Hess was asking me which person from the train owned me. I gave him my most serious, piercing stare, then answered, "I am not owned by any of them. I found my way here because I felt a... tug, feeling, voice, whatever you want to call it. It seemed to speak of a war and dark times that lay ahead."
Hess whinnied slightly at the information. Yes he had heard it too, and it disturbed him greatly, but because of his dislike of being around others, he had no more than heard the song of the pheonix. "That is... interesting. Are you going up to the castle then? Because if what was spoken about is true, then you may be in danger." he was sincerely concerned about this little cat, and wanted him to be safe.
"Well I would go to the forest if I could get out of this carriage," I said. "But if I can't get out, I guess I look enough like a cat to get away with being in the castle right?"
Hess laughed once more as the cat spoke, seeing the gleam in his eyes. "Indeed you do little one, but we are going to be moving here, so it would be best if you sit back."
I nodded, then sat back down in the seat, glad I had met this Thestral. The rest of the journey was silent, but for the chatter of the girls piled into the carriage and the creak of the harness as we moved to the castle. When we finally stopped, I peeked my head out the window again. "Thanks Hess," I stated. "I hope to see you again."
"Same here little one," Hess reaponded, as he watched behind his shoulder to see the cat being pulled out of the carriage and turned to stare as he was dragged up into the castle. Then, he trotted to were the carriages were stored, and was magically released from the restricting leather bonds attaching him to it. As soon as this was done, he flew off over the forest, keeping an eye out for unusual activity.

((I'm skipping just a bit ahead. Basically, Lucinda is reflecting upon the day's events and the stage is being set for what will come. If you guys don't like this post, let me know and I'll remove it.))
After another day of preparation had come to pass. While far from proud, Lucinda was grateful that she had done her sworn duty. She had successfully done her rounds and ensured as much safety as she could - though it was far enough. She was confident in her barriers, sure of their security and more than ready to face the coming day. Once everyone was truly ready, they'd begin the path to setting the world right.
But, they had a long way to go before that glorious day came. She knew that if they were to fight now, things would only end in failure. I will do my best to defend them. she vowed inwardly, as she moved closer to Rhea in order to keep her warm. And indeed, she would. For a phoenix's word was their bond.

Rhea was, as expected, tired. She has just had the oddest day of her life- been told she was being hunted, proceeded to befriend a phoenix and meet three unicorns, a bowtruckle, a vampire and a centaur, and joined them in protecting the freedom of the Forbidden Forest. It had been awing to go about with Lucinda, helping her with her many tasks around the forest in order to ensure it's safety. Rhea wasn't sure about all of it to be honest- How could she fight other people? But then again, she didn't think they would ever fight her. It was something she had to do, to protect herself and those like her. The image of the young she had met over the day stood out in her mind. They were just like human children, how could anyone wish to harm them? Just like the students at Hogwarts that could be in danger, thanks to the Ministry...
Rhea felt Lucinda move a bit closer and found herself comforted, assured. Rhea would fight to her last breath is she had to- after all, she did have to.

((So this is an OOC post, regarding the battle. I'll take it out later or after the battle. At no point should a Hogwarts student be on the battle field. They can witness the battle, talk about the battle, complain, etc, but they are in lockdown at Hogwarts. Any children who are being protected are the young of various creatures, who are being lead deeper into the woods for protection))
(( Kuma here. Just wanted to add that you guys can do whatever you want, but the battle must not start yet. I'll indicate in the announcements when this happens))

Acidious is following me, I know she is. She only ever does that when trouble is near me, but I should be safe in this forest so what, oh crap, there's a battle coming! That's the only explanation I can think of. I think it's best if I make my way to the end of the forest. The one closest to the school. Nothing shall get past me!
I didn't want to follow Lexie around but I've been with her since birth and I'm not abandoning her now. I can feel the battle coming, possibly within the next 3 hours and I'll be damned if Lexie gets hurt. Oh God! What if Kasper hears of the battle and calls me back to him? I can't leave Lexie and Kasper would be furius if I let his only Daughter die. Hell the twins are worse, Aski and Logan will find a way to murder me. That's it, I don't care if I'm called. Lexie is my priority and it's by Lexie's side that I shall be staying, I don't want her joing Lacey just yet.

The sun had barely started to come out when they arrived. Marigold walked amongst the other aurors, heart pounding with excitement. Today was the day! Not only would she have the chance to kill magical creatures, but she could prove herself to Maxwell as well! She grinned at that notion. Maxwell would be so proud of her that her failure to get the files would be forgotten for a while!
But of course, it wasn't that easy. When they arrived at the outside of the Forest, they found that they couldn't get in.
"Merlin's teeth!" A man cursed. "We can't get through!"
"Some kind of effing barrier!" said another. He poked it, and it let out notes from a phoenix song.
"Anyone here know how to break barriers?" Marigold demanded, feeling impatient. Her blood boiled and called for the satisfaction of battle.

Chris arrived on scene. The trainee had been instructed to report to him. He saw Bellard, the girl, heading over to him. She was the trainee for today. He hoped her supervisor knew what he was doing. All around, the Aurors had begun attacking the barriers. He saw Marigold for a fleeting second, her fsce livid and impatient. He turned to the school, where students had gotten out of bed in their night things and were pressed against windows trying to see what was going on.
"Raise your wand! It's a phoenix barrier, use the Converter Spell to channel raw energy," he barked, raising his own, "Use as much energy as you can without over-extending! Destroy the barrier!"
And with that, he channeled his magical energy via the Converter Spell towards the barrier. More wands raised into the air. Energy spewed to the barrier. He saw it flickering, the phoenix who'd cast it was losing.

Far above me I could see Aceidious flying around the dome that had been erected through the use of Phoenix magic. Nothing would get through this barrier, I would fight to the death to protect these kids. Suddenly I heard Phoenix song, the battle had started.
Lucinda and I had erected a barrier earlier in order to keep the other side out and now I was flying high above looking for any suspitious activity when they arrived. I let out a signal to Lexie and that's when the Phoenix sogn of the barrier sounded. Everyone would know that they had arrived now.

Rosemarie immediately, after stumbling in the Portkey travels, went over to Chris. She admittedly wanted to be near an experience Auror in the battle, she was nervous and felt a bit better this way.
Not far away, Eleazar was assisting in attempting to break the barrier.

Lucinda woke up with a start, feeling the assault upon her barriers. She let out a pained gasp, as a pins and needles sensation hit her.
"No!" she trilled, both shocked and angry. At once, she squawked for Rhea to get up, flew out of the cave and let out a panicked song, letting everyone know that the worst was happening. Desperately, she fought to keep the barriers up, but it was a fight that she couldn't win - whatever the humans were doing, it pushed harder and harder. And then, the barrier shattered.
"IT'S HAPPENING NOW!" She screamed in song. "THEY'RE ATTACKING NOW! RUN, HIDE, GET READY TO FIGHT!"
---
There was a large backlash of energy when the barrier broke. It knocked them flat on their backs, and hit them with a searing warmth.
Marigold smiled. "And so it begins."

The battle had started. I was deposted in the forest and the first thing I noticed was the barrier. On the order's of Chris I raised my wand and joined in the spell casting. We would brake this barrier down and kill all this scum. Finally we broke the barrier and prepared for the fight of our lives.

Rhea was jerked awake, but as she heard what Lucinda sang, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and got to her feet, clutching her wand anxiously. Quickly she followed the phoenix out of the cave, looking around wildly, expecting spells to come her way any moment now.
Kei was with the herd of Unicorns, she had been speaking to her father about tactics- and now she and the others turned there head toward the warning. There was silence before Kei finally said, "Here we go."

Harrigan and the rest of the centaurs had been keeping watch all night in turns, no one was sleeping properly. The war loomed in the stars, and Mars had gotten brighter. That meant a battle was soon. His fellow centaurs were uneasy to fight with other creatures. His unease was to fight the humans. He wanted to remain ignorant to their cruelty.
Then he heard the song. His crossbow and quiver stocked with arrows were ready. Already having his orders, he galloped to the forest age. The foals of the forest needed his help. They were the top priority!

Rodimus was awoken by the phoenix song in a jarring sense. Oh sweet Orion! The battle was starting already? His fellow herdsmen had been awoken as well. "Hurry, everyone! You know what must be done!" And with that, he galloped forward at top speed, knowing that he'd need to speak some common sense to the humans if he could - he doubted they would listen, but he had promised Harrigan.

Yew and Calla were on the way to visit the Gameskeeper for some woodlice for Yew when the Barrier broke. Calla wanted to go and help Lexie but then she remembered all the instructions she had been given and so with reluctance they turned back to the castle at a run when Calla fell over going up hill and snapped her right leg clean. She was stuck there until help found her.

Chris watched the battle. Aurors poured into the forest. They knew their orders, he saw trees falling and being either burned or vanished. The forest was being cleared away. The smoke rose into the air. Yes, this was war.
"Bellard, stay close. We head in once the first most trees fall," said Chris carefully, moving forward.
"Move those namby-pamby asses! Time is money fools! Time is lives! Get yourselves in there! We need them out!" yelled Chris to everyone. His voice bellowing over the field. "Remember, retreat at sunset!"

Lucinda flew high above the forest and saw what the humans were doing. After a few moments of careful observation, she found the leader.
She sang a sharp phoenix song at him, one that was endowed with enough magic to cause physical harm. She sang of slicing, cutting, and pain. This wasn't her usual behavior, but her vows were kicking in full swing.
--- Rodimus rushed to where the most humans were. "Stop this madness!" he demanded firmly. "Why must you attack us and our kin? What have we ever done to you?"

Rhea ran along, following where she saw Lucinda fly. She was hiding, trying not to be seen when she caught sight of the other humans. She took a deep breath and sent a stream of water around the tree she was hiding behind, hoping to put out some of the flames.

Hess was flying over the forest when he heard the cries and shouts. The magical barrier had fallen and they were being attacked. He flew over to the edge to see people razing the forest, but kept his distance, unsure if he was needed.

Harrigan had reached the edge. His fast horse body was well trained to gallop. He saw the trees being burned and cut down. In one tree, he saw a pair of bowtruckles stuck and going up in the flames. He felt sick as he heard their tortured screams.
"Foals to us! Send your foals here! Go fight, I'll move them out!" he yelled out. A baby bowtruckle fell from the trees, tossed by his parents. The bowtruckle child followed in the trees. A group of younger unicorn foals arrived to him, Xie, and Jei.
"Move back, into the woods!" he bellowed, sending an arrow flying to the humans. He could see more arrows flying. His herd had arrived.

Jei blinked as Harrigan told them to move back, hide once more. He was struck with a desire to instead run toward the fray- to fight and defend. He looked at his sister, who seemed to wnat to follow the Centaur's words.
"Come on!" He shouted at her, and then he nudged her slightly before trotting into the wood a bit, before turning around and out of the Centaurs view toward the fight. He could protect Xie, and he would protect the forest.
Xie was scared, she wasn't made for fighting. But she didn't know where else to go, but with her brother. In anxiety, she put forth her gift strongly- sending off the vibe of innocence, making others want to protect her.

Chris suddenly felt cuts open in his skin. Pain diced through him. He looked up to see the phoenix. Fucking hell, she'd chosen him to attack! He sent random stunners at hr, not intending to strike her, but force her lower. Then finally, he sent a large Blast Hex at her as she got nearer. It would serve as a distraction.
"Move Bellard, we move in!" he yelled, leaving the open valley to duck for cover in the forest.

Hess noticed the people delving further into the forest, and decided he should act now. He swooped down and clawed at a few before they made in into the shelter of the trees, and then soared back into the air quickly, trying to dodge any resistance thrown at him.

I heard the shout of Harrigan and remembered that he was to look after the foals, should I stay or should I go and help him? My answer was made for me when a man charged in my direction.
I moved away from Chris and the gang and moved towards the lake. Maybe if I swam through the lake I could get to the school. That was then I saw her walking back and forth, obviously protecting that area. I knew then and there what to do. Taking my wand out of my holster I yelled the first spell that came to mind. "Crucio!"

Lucinda dodged the attacks to the best of her ability, though the Blasting Hex did clip her wing a little. She winced, but quickly shook it off. If they were going to attack the forest, she was going to rip them asunder. She flew back up into the air, and directed the song toward their leader again.
Rip! Maim! Cut! Bleed!
---
"And allow you to roam free?" Marigold sneered, pointing her wand at the centaur. "Sorry, but I don't think I can allow that." She cast a Cutting Curse at him, which was easily dodged.
"Very well," the centaur said, frowning. "If this is what you want, we shall fight. Prepare yourself, human!" And with that, he started to charge at her.
Marigold backed off swiftly, casting everything from Cutting Curses to Agony Hexes. The centaur dodged them with ease, and came at her with his staff.
