Jei let out a fierce snarl as he backed him, looking pointedly at Rosemarie, who was cringing on the forest floor. She let out a high-pitched scream as Jei pushed more waves onto her. He couldn't hurt Chris, but he could hurt the girl. After a moment of holding it on her, he tore his gaze away, turned abruptly and cantered off into the forest. His sister was dead, and that fact was now heavy on his mind as he ran.
---
Kei and the other Unicorns had taken awhile to reach the battle grounds, they had been far off in the hidden clearing where the younger unicorns were hidden. Now, they joined the fray, pounding into the witches and wizards, using their horns to cut through human flesh.

Chris immediately moved to Rosemarie. He approached cautiously. The girl needed to be removed, and she looked catatonic. Silently he sent a stunner at her. He looked to the sky. The sun was only two hours from sunset. Had it really been that long? He couldn't understand. He disallusioned himself and the injured girl. He winced at his injuries as he levitated the girl and began hobbling back to the castle. At sunset, he would need his living Aurors to raise the barrier, blocking the forest from the school and Hogsmeade.

Rosemarie looked at Chris approaching, and she jerked in the opposite direction, her body shaking. When the spell came at her, she let out a shriek before it hit and she slumped down, unconscious.
---
Jei kept running, unsure of where to go. He was confused and upset and scared. How could he let that monster hurt Xie? He'd been in charge- he'd been dealing with it, how could he have failed so horribly?

Lucinda had killed a total of three aurors with her deadliest songs so far, but corrupting the music to an attacking purpose, while maintaining the barrier was wearing her down. She could sense so much suffering and despair in the forest... so much pain..
She wanted and needed to heal and defend, but she was having trouble flying at the moment. It wouldn't be long before she blacked out. Rhea seemed to be doing a fine job stopping fires. Thanks to her efforts, a majority of the forest had been spared.
---
Marigold waited for just the right moment, and struck. With a fierce cry, she threw the dagger at the centaur, aiming right for the neck. The dagger made its mark, and most likely hit a jugular vein. While the centaur struggled to remove the knife, she reached for her wand and shouted a single Killing Curse.
This time, the centaur had not dodged. The green light simply hit him, killing him in an instant. Wearily, Marigold grinned. At least now she'd be able to report something positive to Maxwell.
----
Marigold staggered back to the main area, and saw complete and total devastation. The forest had taken quite a beating in this part, and so had both sides. It wasn't as bad as it could have been, but the dead bodies were unsettling to look at.
"It seems as though we've got another one." said middle aged witch in a white robe - the robe of a healer. "Come here, dearie. You've done your fair share, now you just worry about yourself."
Marigold wordlessly followed her, feeling rather triumphant.

I had just managed to injure the bitch when an arrow came shooting towards me, I turned to look and saw a Centaur coming towards me with a look of rage upon his face. I barely had the chance to lift my wand when he was upon me.

Harrigan felt an immense fury as he saw the bleeding and injured Lexie. At this range, arrows wouls be useless in a fight. Instead he took his forelegs, and using his giant hooves, slammed the boy's chest, crushing his ribs. Harrigan moved towards Lexie, thinking the battle over.

That hurt, seriously, I wan't about to give in though. Making sure that the centaur didn't notice I picked up my wand and said the first spell that came to mind "Depulso". Instantly he was shot of his feet and slammed into a tree.

Chris deposited the stunned Rosemarie neatly to the ground. The sun had begun to set. In a half hour's time, it would be gone. The creatures would decimate his forces once the night fell and they had advantage in the night. He needed to halt this battle now! It was time to erect a barrier to block the madness.
"Retreat! Press the creatures further in! Retreat!" he bellowed at the Aurors.

Harrigan felt his breath be knocked out of his stomach. The tree was an effective weapon. Several splinters hit his back, and branches cut across his shoulders and upper back. A particularly vicious branch created a large, open gash from his left shoulder to the middle of his back. Yes, that would leave a scar.
Getting back up, Harrigan roared as he galloped at the man. He used his hands to lift the man into the air, and slammed him at the ground. His hoof came and hit the boy in his collarbone. This time, he waited to see if the boy would wake. The adrenaline rushing through his body made him ignore the pain of the splinters.

The energy of using that one last spell took my last remaining energy from me and I slumped against a tree. Would I be rescued or would I die? I'd most likely never get to see my Father again, that was for sure.

Harrigan felt terrible at leaving the boy like this. Unless someone found him, he'd never make it. However, he had no choice. Turning, he picked up Lexie in his arms, and galloped deeper into the forest.

(( This is a general perspective of some of the creatures that have been hiding, and the end of the Forest Battle. Great job, everyone! ))
It was madness, chaos even. From their safe havens, the young, the weak and the helpless watched as their beloved home had been assaulted. There had been warnings of such a thing, but to see Wizards actively betraying them... it was too much.
It had been a day that would live in infamy, and many lives had either been snuffed out or changed forever.
The unicorns lost five of their glory, the youngest being sweet little Xei, who had gotten caught in the crossfire. At least a dozen runespores had been burned or cut, a fate shared with quite a few bowtruckles. The hardest ones hit had been the acromantulas, who'd seen two-thirds of their kin killed. Only the youngest survived.
The Thestrals had been the luckiest of the creatures - this probably had more to do with their special ability versus their battle prowess.
And parts of their home had been burned down, though Rhea's skill prevented the fires from spreading.
In the end, it was the humans who had come out on top - they hadn't lost nearly as many to the battle, and their homes were still perfectly in tact.
To put it simply, this day had been pure hell.

Harrigan galloped as far as he could, before collapsing. He stared at Lexie's paler than normal body. Her wound wasn't deep, but he suspected her torture and screams had drained her of energy. The sun was setting, and he had no idea what was going on with the battle. He prayed the stars were in favor of his side.
He winced as he settled down. His back was on fire with pain. He reached around with his hand, and began attempting to remove the splinters. He found a particularly large one by his shoulder, and began tugging. He let out a low hiss. It hurt like hell.

I wasn't sure where I was or what had happened. My last memory was of that man hitting me with a sword. The sound of someone hissing in pain knocked me to my senses, I looked around me and saw the Centaur Harrigan laying a little furthur away and pulling something out of his back.
"Harrigan? What happened? Where are we? Do you need any help?" I asked in quick succession.

Harrigan grinned at Lexie when he saw she was awake. He felt glad to see her alive and well. It was wrong seeing her hurt, for some reason. He liked seeing her full on attitude, not lying on the ground.
"Well hello sunshine," he said with a flirty wink to lighten the mood. "We're currently in the forest, having a little rendezvous. You're alright now, don't worry about the other guy, I got him down. You're bleeding, I suggest fixing that. And er, I'm alright, let me just get these damn splinters from my back and we can go find the others. I think the battle's mostly over, I haven't seen any new smoke recently."

Yew was horrified. Her Calla Flower had been lying here injured all day. She'd wanted to go find her family when the trees started burning, but Calla Flower looked ill. Yew hadn't known what to do, and the battle scared her. So she'd buried herself in the crook of Calla's arms listening to the horrible sounds. She could only hear death and despair around her.
Finally, the battle drew to a close, the sounds quieted. Now she could only listen to the shallow breaths of Calla Flower. She was scared. What had happened? She needed to find mummy and daddy. She mimicked the sound of a songbird, listening to it with hope. Then she heard the steps.
A man cried out, and Yew ducked under a bush by the house. She watched as a larger man came to her Calla Flower. She wouldn't have left, but she was terrified to have her own sounds be cut off like the rest.
"Great scots! What's a girl doing here?" he cried out. Yew watched As he lifted her Calla Flower and began talking her back to the castle, muttering Nurse.
Yew followed in the shadows, moving slowly on her two feet, dodging into the shadows.

Kei had finally defeated an Auror who had been fairly skilled, when all of them seemed to begin moving back. Were the retreating? Kei stamped her hooves on the ground, neighing happily. They may not have won- but this battle was over, and they hadn't lost either. The happy unicorn took off toward deeper into the forest, deciding to find her allies.
---
Eleazar had burned down quite a few trees in his more secluded area, the fire was still spreading so when he saw how far the sun was in the sky, he decided to leave. The fire would continue until someone put it out. Turning swiftly, he raced back toward the castle.

"Harrigan, I'm a Vampire, I'll heal naturally. You on the other hand won't so stop fussing and let me help you." I ripped the sleeve of my top and made it into a ball before shoving it into Harrigan's mouth and then I started to pull out each splinter.
Due to the amount of blood I didn't dare tie it up and so I did the one thing I swore I never would. I used my Vampire powers and cleaned out each wound seperately. I knew I shouldn't but what choice did I have? I didn't want Harrigan to die, true I will be ill later due to it not being my feeding time but if I saved a life then I don't care.

After escaping the foliage of the forest, Eleazar looked around and saw several people huddling around an object. He hurried over and managed to garb hold of the can just as it began glowing blue. Eleazar closed his eyes as he felt like flying awkwardly.

Hess had been losing his battle. His wing had been punctured, making it so he couldn't fly. Although he had managed to keep himself going for a good while, he had felt his strength waning and knew he couldn't last much longer. Just as he was about to give up, and the person he was struggling with was about to place the killing blow, he heard voices yelling to retreat. The person infront of him gave him a desdly glare, then ran off.
Hess was greatful to still be alive. The pain in his wing was excruciating, and he keeled over to the side once he thought it was safe. With his strength being as low as it was, and blood pouring out of his wound, he slipped into unconsciousness.

Harrigan had no time to protest Lexie's offer as she gagged him. For a girl who was injured, she was surprisingly quick. Within seconds she was behind him atop his horse back, pulling out the splinters. He groaned into the handkerchief. He wanted to protest her sitting atop his back, but he was too busy groaning in pain. The splinters were all over the place and some deeper than others. He felt the blood trickling down his back as she removed them. The blood loss was making him weak, and he didn't want to exert his strength. Ah well, he'd probably bleed to death or disability without any medical care.
He felt Lexie hesitate. All the splinters had been removed now, so what was she waiting for? She could go to get help as he bled. He'd be fine, just dizzy. Then he felt her hand on his shoulder. Just seconds later, he could feel her tongue running along his back. Despite knowing she was using her vampire powers, he couldn't help but blush brightly. He wanted to tell her to stop, but the relief from the pain felt good.
Her mouth moved along, checking each wound, wiping the blood. He felt his strength returning. Why was she doing this for him? He wasn't dying, not yet at least. She could have gone to find help, but she was risking her health for him. His blush still stained his cheeks as she moved away. He spit the gag out finally.
"T-Thanks," he said, stuttering slightly. "You alright sunshine?"

Why the hell is he blushing? I only- oh! Damn he's got one perverted mind! "I'll be fine soon. Shall we risk moving? What if there's more of them out there? We have no idea who's injured or heaven forbid, dead. Plus I'm worried about Calla and Acidious. I'm sure I saw Calla running earlier. If she's been injured then it's all my fault! I was the one who asked her to be my spy in the school and Acidious The last time I saw her she was flying above the dome, ensuring that we'd be safe."

Harrigan nodded. He needed to find his herd. His brothers would need him.
"Let's go sunshine," he said with a grin, the blush having faded. "I'm sure they're fine. The foal belongs with the others in the school, they'll care for her. And I'm sure your phoenix is waiting for you. I need to find Kei's foals, they ran out on me. Shall we go, sunshine?"
He began to trot at an even pace, smiling a sincere smile at her as he moved.

"They got caught in the heat of the battle," said Harrigan, frowning, "I hope they're alright. I promised Kei I'd watch them after all. But I had to get the other younglings to safety, and then I heard your scream..."
He trailed off and looked to the rising stars. The message seemed so unclear, and he had to keep moving. He didn't have time to decipher it.

Hess was a foal, flying low through the trees. He had not a care in the world, and he felt free and invigorated. Nothing seemed like it could possibly ruin the wonderful feelings he was experiencing. Suddenly, a high pitched, frightened whinny emenated from the trees in the direction of his families shelter.
As swiftly as possible, Hess weaved, wended and dodged his way through the foliage, unmindful of the branches whipping at his face and body. Just before he reached his destinstion though, a tall figure loomed out of the trees in front of him. A werewolf, with blood covering his muzzle and claws, blocked his way. Hess flinched backwards from it slightly, remembering what his mother had told him. "Give them space and they will not harm you," she had said. Slowly, he began to back away, putting distsnce between himself and it.
Next thing Hess knew, the wewolf had lunged forwards and sunk its claws into one of his wings, almost tearing through the flesh completely. A brilliant flash of pain flooded through him as his legs gave way and buckled underneath him. He looked up to see the werewolf closing in for the finishing swipe, when two thestrals darted out of the trees and set upon it. Wings and claws filled his vision as the struggle before him carried on. Finally, with a loud yowl, followed by a furious howling, the werewolf retreated into the trees, away from the thestrals abode.
The two thestrals approached Hess, looking upset and pained, although it seemed that it had nothing to do with their injuries. Looking at him, they said in solemn voices, "We are sorry Hess, but that werewolf attacked your home and managed to take out your whole family before we could stop them. You are lucky to be alive yourself."
Hess stared at them, dizzy from exhaustion and pain. 'Why, why, why?' he thought, before blackness fell over his vision, extinguishing all.

Lucinda took in the damage that had been done - a horrific, sickening sight. For a moment, she felt a sharp pang of guilt; she'd been too sure her barriers would hold, and that she could save everyone. But instead, she allowed herself to get caught up in harming one of the humans, and stuck by Rhea's side the whole time. Her priorities had been majorly wrong, and many people had gotten hurt because of it.
I'll be shedding a lot of tears for a while. she thought, letting out a mournful trill.
"I'm going to look around the forest for a while." Lucinda told Rhea. "There may be injured ones that nobody has gotten to." Flying up was difficult, due to the strain she'd put on her body already. But she managed. "Can you make a list of those who need my tears? I'll shed them as soon as I can."

Rhea immediately responded with a nod, she could see how upset and worried Lucinda was, and she figured it would be best to simply hurry up and get those names- help those in need. She looked around and tried to spot someone who looked in need of help.
---
Kei, once she had been sure all the humans were gone, has begun searching. She needed to find Harrigan, and in turn, Xie and Jei.

As expected, there were several creatures that were unable to get up and fend for themselves. Several had been hurt - some more than others. Each time she saw someone that was injured, she would fly down, cry on their injuries, and point them in the direction they needed to go. Eventually, she came across Kei, who seemed to be frantically searching.
She swooped down and let out a low, soft trill in greeting.
