"Sure I can. Sibling-friends in front of the other professors, that you hides your feelings for me in front of Selwyn," she answered lightly, and more quietly, as they went out in the hallway. "And I'm good at improvise, so if anything unexpected happens, my dear..." she trailed of with a slight smirk, as she allowed him to lead the way, as she didn't know where she would sleep.

"Quick study," said Henry with a smile, "I knew I did a good day's work when I hired you on. This way."
Tjphey walked to a portrat if a violinist, and stopped. It was in the hallway near the classroom for Transfiguration.
"We're here, tell him the password you want," said Henry, pointing to the violinist.

"Of course you did," she answered with a grin. She glanced at the violinist, as she wondered what password she should use, before she said, "Kent."
She glanced toward Henry. "It's my favorite place in England," she shrugged. It was a downright lie, but Henry didn't need to know that. It opened, and she walked in to a cozy place.

He nodded as they entered the room.
"Well, this is it. What do you think? Can you handle it?" he asked, his question both about the room and the job.

Jamie smiled slightly at the cozy room, which would be hers for awhile, and this time only hers. Not Henry's or anyone else. "I like it," she shrugged. "It's lovely. And yes, I can handle it. I'll probably be a terrible teacher, but we'll see. And I try to befriend the other professors."

"Good. I'll leave you to settle in, my room's just around the corner near the Gryffindor tower, if you need anything," he said with a nod.
Then with a smile, he turned and left.

Henry left Jamie alone that night. He was already working on his plans. So much needed to be done to make his plan work, and if it wasn't done right, well, he'd put his life and reputation on the line and be destroyed. Henry was confident that his decisions were correct, but he needed a second opinion. Unfortunately, he was trapped in the school until such time that Selwyn released him.
Currently, he patrolled the corridors by Gryffindor Tower. He was so close, yet still so far. What more did he have to put on the line for his goals? What else did he need to accomplish? In his haze, he didn't hear the footsteps approaching.

Calla couldn't sleep, nightmares of the Baslisk plagued her and with no teddy to comfort her she decided to go for a walk, bumping into Professor Moor on the way. "Sorry Sir!" Calla gasped out.

Henry turned to see the lost-looking Calla. She looked upset, and Henry decided that screw ambition, just luck was on his side. He smiled warmly at her.
"It's quite alright, Calla, but what are you doing out of bed so late?" he asked gently.

"I, I couldn't sleep, nightmares" Calla explained

Henry frowned, while inwardly applauding himself, "Hissies in your dreams then?"

"Yes Sir, normally my teddy keeps them away but I didn't bring him to Hogwarts with me. Jaden said that I would be bullied for it" Calla explained to the Professor.

Henry nodded. He taught Jaden after all, and that sounded like something the boy would say.
"Well, when I was a young boy, and I was scared, I would tell my father what happened in my dream. Since your mummy and daddy aren't here, can you tell me?" asked Henry kindly.

"Really?" seeing Henry's nod Calla went on. "Well I keep dreaming the the baslisk is attacking me, biting me, wrapping it's body around me etc" Calla shuddered.

Henry shuddered with her, and then put a comforting hand on her shoulder, "That sounds awful, but you're safe in here, I promise. The teachers, especially myself, aren't going to let that thing at you! Do you want a cup of tea? My office isn't far and you look pale."
This was a risky gamble, but if Calla accepted, then he could gain a lot of trust.

"Only if you make it a cup of hot choclate" Calla beamed, finally happy to have someone.

"Of course," he said with a beam, "And between you and me, my hot chocolate is much better than Professor Prewett, but that's our little secret, hm?"
He winked conspiratorially at her, and then the two began walking to his office.

"My Daddy does them with real belgian chocolate, whipped cream and sprinkles with belgian chocolate chip and mint biscuits, sometimes he'll even do them with hazlenuts instead" Calla whispered back.

"Well, I can't promise that kind of luxury, but I can offer you warm, hazelnutty chocalate," said Henry as they reached his office.

"Thank you" said Calla as she looked around at all the strange instuments.

Henry noticed her curiosity, and decided to indulge her a bit.
"That's a sneakascope, it can tell you if someone untrustworthy is in the room," he explained airly as he pointed, "And that's a Trace detector. You can see what kind of magic is being used. And that's the kettle for the hot chocolate."
With a smile, he moved to brew the chocolate. He waved a wand to the chair in his office, pulling it out.
"Have a seat. Feel free to ask any questions you have," he encouraged.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" Calla blurted out after a long pause.

Henry paused his pouring of the milk, and then considered his answer as he set the glass down.
"I think it stems from when I was younger," he said kindly, setting the hot chocolate down in front of Calla, "I used to know this little girl, much like you. She was very sweet, kind, pretty. Then she was beaten badly by some wizards, since she was a squib. The girl passed away. Her injuries killed her. After that, I hate seeing a distressed young girl. It reminds me that I failed to protect that girl."
Henry sipped his hot chocolate, remembering said girl. He'd never known her, just her story. She'd been beaten mercilessly in Hogsmeade, and the Headmaster at the time, not Selwyn, had ignored the incident, claiming no evidence.

He smiled, handing her the cup of hot chocolate, "Oh indeed. But enough about that, how are you feeling, dear? Hissies still haunting you?"

Calla thought for a moment before replying. "They'll always haunt me Sir. I just wish that maybe, just maybe all hissies in the world would just disappear".

"Well, it's hard to do that," said Henry easily, "But when you see a hissy, just let me know. I can help you out. I'm not defense professor for nothing. But you'll have to keep this a secret. Can't be seen showing a student favoritism after all."
He smiled his most charming smile, the one that dazzled the ladies. Even in young girls, it made them agree without a second thought.

"Yes Sir, does that mean getting rid of all the Slytherins?" Calla asked with a mischievious grin.
