Anyone hear about the Badminton issues, had four teams purposely try and throw their matches. Saw a bit of one the matches on website, it was so funny really as even a 3 year old could tell what they were doing. And the US Female Beach Volleyball team nearly had a perfect record but lost one set in the match *sigh* it was the first and only Set they have ever lost in the Olympics. No, I didn't hear about the badminton. I don't think it's aired on the regular NBC channel. And yes, I saw the end of that volleyball match. I'm still glad they won the match, even though it was a bit disappointing that their streak ended. Not sure when or if it aired but can see highlights online. Here is one I watched www.nbcolympics.com/video/badminton/highlights-badminton-players-try-to-throw-match.html

Jessica Ennis is doing well after two events in the heptathlon. Leading after two events - 100m hurdles and high jump. Another two events this evening - 200m and shot put.
Ennis actually made heptathlon history, made new record in the 100m hurdles at 12.64. It equals USA's Dawn Harper gold in the 100m hurdles individual event in Beijing. High jump at 1.86m. Leading by 25 points at present.

I have been watching team handball (among other things). I got hooked on it during the 2008 games and it really bugs me that this sport which I would think Americans would love and devour is nearly unheard of here. You say handball in the US and people think of being in a white room and hitting a little blue ball at a wall. Team handball is different. It is a cross between soccer, hockey, basketball, and its own self. It is awesome but the US never qualifies because there is no support here. And other than the Olympics it never airs here in the US on TV. So I have been watching it while I can. I have been watching other things too but that is what I was waiting four years to see again.

Kessy/Ross just beat the Brazilians in beach volleyball and are headed to the gold medal match! This could get really interesting if May Treanor and Walsh Jennings win their game. At any rate, America is guaranteed a medal.
