Readers: Queen Elizabeth, Margaret Thatcher (Prime Minister), Thomas Chambers (Social Services OC), Harry, Vernon, Petunia, and Dudley, Dumbledore and Fudge. Sirius likely to appear at the end of Book 3. Severus might appear after 'The Potions Master' chapter.
Books: 1-7
Plot: Someone has the books delivered to Buckingham Palace in 1987 along with a note. The Queen decides they must be read and complies with the note. The rest is down to you.

Author's Notes: I could NOT resist this one. I started snickering the minute I read the challenge and haven't stopped yet. Rampant Dumbledore and Fudge bashing ahead. Manipulative but not evil Dumbledore, nice Weasleys.

seriously? if I had someone to beta the story then maybe. i don't truly have any confidence when writing fics. i can think of a brilliant plot but when it comes to writing i give up because i don't really get anywhere with the stories.

I know it's not your favorite pairing or anything but I do have a liking for h/hr & al/min. I guess I've just read far to many of them. What I have in mind is the royals reading with the hp gang (listed in fic) and hopefully Harry becomes King of the wizarding world and William the muggle one. I've always thought that it was odd how we had a ministry but not a monarchy. At first I just wanted to read the books and go from there I guess.

Well, I think H/Hr works well. I don't loathe Al/Min, I just loathe Albus in general. However, I can ignore a pairing if the idea is good enough, which it is. My only stipulation is that you write the rough draft for each chapter, so that I have something to go on. Is that alright?

Fantastic start, I can't wait to see the next part! I love the details in this too - the way Petunia is so angered by Dumbledore's presence that she completely forgets that she is in the same room as the Queen and how she hates magic so much that she actually wants to yell at her. Vernon turning purple with rage over it is so in character that it's actually a bit funny. That man is always changing colors.

Man, I'm so glad that they'll be reading all of these too - think of all the changes that can be made by reading these at this point! Yup, definitely looking forward to you posting the next chapter.

I loved the chapter, but I think you should have saved the tossing in Azkaban threat until the end of POS, and Amelia's outburst was a bit overdone. It was otherwise brilliantly done. I loved the way you wrote Dudley and Harry. The Queen made me chuckle throughout the story.

*snicker* It wasn't a threat. He's getting jail time for leaving Harry on the doorstep. The Queen's just planning on keeping a tally of everything else he can be charged with (which is going to end up being a hell of a list just by the end of this book) and adding time onto the stay.

Amelia may have been a touch over the top, yes, but 1) She knew/worked with James. 2) She's surrogate mom to Susan, which just makes Dumbledore's actions that much more painful, because she's going 'what if it had been Susan?' 3) She takes lawbreaking rather seriously, and couldn't hex Dumbledore at the time, so she slapped him one instead. 4) I needed *someone* to really rip into the bastard, and while the queen is pissed off, I've never really seen the queen as someone who'd yell and hoot and holler all that much. Glare and give quiet, deadly serious threats/promises? Heck yes. Yell, not so much. Fudge is an idiot and a stooge, and Thomas is all to aware he's in the same room as the queen and a bunch of people with unknown abilities ... he's not about to risk laying into Dumbledore when he doesn't know what he'd be getting into.

Oh, I loved that chapter. Dumbledore already under arrest for the crap he pulled with Harry as a baby is so awesome to see and I love that the Queen pointed out that Harry could have been raised without the fame going to his head by anyone with common sense. Ha, take THAT, Dumbledore!

The slow realization for Thomas of why he's there was great too and it only took the one phrase of "and he wasn't happy about it." to get everything across. Maybe I was just imagining all the implications of what's to come from that one bit but I'm definitely looking forward to the next chapter where I'm sure the shit will hit the fan over how Harry has been treated. It was also a nice change of pace at the healer not doing a double take or anything at the sight of Harry but staying professional instead.

Heh. I figured a Healer of his age and experience has dealt with famous personages a lot ... from Ministers to Quidditch stars to .... well, you get the idea. So I figure he'd not really care about Harry's fame and just get the job done.

If Dumbledore thinks he's in big trouble now ... just wait a bit. The Queen is going to throw a rather epic fit about Fluffy and the Stone. *evil grin*.

And oh, god. Thomas is going to go through the ROOF next chapter. He's got his suspicions, based largely on how Harry's behaving and the descriptions of the Dursleys and how they're reacting to Harry, but once it's confirmed ... dayamn, he's gonna be pissed off. And not just at the Dursleys. Whoever's in charge of Little Whinging is going to get called on the carpet hardcore.
