Also for some reason the programme wants google chrome to read the files (it does for me anyway) and to read them and to read them you need to go to the location the files are saved and then go to the folder you want and in the folder there is a file marked "index.html". That is the file you want.

Does this program also work for my favorite author page? I have around 390 favorite authors and I really don't want to browse through every single one of them to copy the M-rated fics, you know? I just checked and it seems to work but make sure you click on the authors part of the page like this m.fanfiction.net/u/2206046/ykickamoocow111?a=fa

I've been saving stories by way of www.flagfic.com/. There you will find a list of websites for where this works. FFN is among them. You just need to click on the link of the story in FFN, copy the URL for the first chapter, then go back to flagfic, paste the URL into the box at the left, chose the format and click on download. It takes only a shor time - usually less than half a minute even for stories with about 150,000 or 200,000 words. I've been saving that way, as pdf, and it works very well. No formatting problems, no messed up stuff, as far as I can tell so far. Have done it on both Windows and Mac, worked perfectly.

That letter was dated jan of 2003! FFN is 9 yrs late in complying if that is the case unless like was already said someone is recirculating the letter as a scare tactic. And considering what they did with the RtB I wouldn't be surprised to find on June 23 that the book burning is on. If that is the case (which I dearly hope it's not) then I think it is time for everyone with commonsense to jump ship and find another site.

Or FFnet could take all their M rated stories and move them to a new sister site.

Has anyone else looked back at their favorites and wondered how the hell an author or story made it in there? I have been browsing my fav authors and have deleted 10 of them for just that reason. Boy, I was easily entertained back in the day.

I think i must have been either asleep or crazy because they are awful.

Can i do this with a Mac at all?? Actually, I *am* using a MacBook, so, yes, works perfectly! Has anyone else looked back at their favorites and wondered how the hell an author or story made it in there? I have been browsing my fav authors and have deleted 10 of them for just that reason. Boy, I was easily entertained back in the day. Oh yes! I guess over time, the more you read, the more picky you get. What you'd read in the beginning doesn't get a second glance at the summary two years later.

My reason for deleting some of my fav's is because of their word count. I had stories that had say, 18 chapters but a measely 23,000+ words to their name. They weren't written all that well either. The good thing so far is that I don't seem to have that many M-rated authors in my favs and the ones that do have M-rated stuff are not fantastic. The only bad thing is that one of my favorite Batman Begins/The Dark Knight stories seems to have been deleted and I forgot the name of the author.

As I have been doing the c&p into Word for years, I know what you are talking about. As long as it's just the new chapter, it's doable, but long stories ... And for such an action (did it with the RtB stories as well), flagfic and similar sites is just so much easier.

I myself think that it's just 1 person trying to cause a panic. Afterall it is the 23rd today and we are still able to access FF.Net despite the fact that many people saying that we'd be having a blackout on this day...

The blackout was never really "official," as in "sanctioned by fanfiction.net." It was only meant to tell people not to update, publish, or review (or even log in).
It is just a boycott that would only last a day and have no affect on the way the site is run.

Would so laugh if I read an article in a newspaper saying "The People VS FF Admin". I'm sure that's happened before.

Oh, that sucks Cody! Do you remember what the story was called? That's the thing, I don't remember the name but it was based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. It was a post Dark Knight story that featured a female OC starting her first day at one of Bruce's hotels. She was a French chef and at the start of the fic her pet cat escapes it's carrier and attacks the cab driver. They then run into Bruce Wayne's limo and she and Bruce get into an arguement until they make it to the hotel where chaos insues after her cat escapes again. It goes on to be a comedy/Adventure fic where the Joker escapes Arkham. One of the main scenes that I remember is when the OC go's for a walk and meets the Joker and mistakes him for a down on his luck clown. She goes on and tells him about how he can go back to the circus and then proceeds to give him five dollars for a coffee. After she leaves the Joker gets out of his shock and basically runs down his goons about how people have forgot about him already but he does order one of the goons to buy him a coffee.

So, if this does happen how do we know that they won't go furthur than "M" and start on the "T" rating?

Great news! www.flagfic.com also supports Kindles. I just downloaded Lady Smoothie's 'Hero, Villain, Saviour, Conqueror' onto my kindle, took about 3 minutes total.

So far nothing has happened. When this came up, I noted down the number of fics in the three main fandoms, and since then, they have steadily risen. Doesn't look like they started deleting the M stories. Not that it can't still happen, of course.

I just found this. There is a author called "Nidoran Duran" who has this written in his or her profile Hey guys, it's megadeth425. Not some asshole reposting his old fics, actual me. My account got the boot for four and a half years' accumulated smut, so let's try this again. I'll be slowly uploading most of my stories, but some exceptions will be made, like the original Solaceon since it's dead, and a lot of old fics that aren't being continued anyway, or I don't have a way of getting since they're gone. As a result, please don't ask me to report certain things; if I have them, I'll put them or have a good reason not to. It'll be a slow process to get everything back online so that I don't flood the site, but it'll come along as quickly as possible.
In the event this account gets the boot too, just want to say thank you to everyone. It's one of the things that killed me about not just having my stories wiped, but not having an account. Never got to give you all the thank you that you deserve for being such great readers. I'm honoured to be a mere hobbyist who has (or had, at least) so many people reading and following his work, and enjoying it. Thank you all, and if this one doesn't last either, I want you to know that I've enjoyed most moments of it.
You can also find me under my old name on Adultfanfiction, or at AO3 under NidoranDuran. In the event this account goes down/FF.net doesn't have a policy change and allow MA rated material, I will not be making a third account attempt and will stick to those sites. On AO3 there's even my non-porn stories I have on here under Rooster425, which was a precuation expressly to avoid losing them if my account went under for porn.www.fanfiction.net/u/4028237/Nidoran_Duran------------------------------- So it looks like FFnet is deleting accounts for sexual content.

Eh, I actually ran into reading one of that dude's oneshots because of how many reviews it had but then bailed after reading 1/3 of it. He mainy wrote pokemon based beastiality from what I could gather and it is a damn good thing that he is gone now. If ff.net are deleting accounts for sexual content it must be the ones that are only filled with smut and graphic smut at that. In my honest opinion, I say good riddence to those authors and may they not prowl the site again.

OK, it seems that ff.net is kind of lying to everyone when they show how many Harry Potter stories they have. I just checked right now in the book section and it shows that HP has 596,000+, but when you press the link to the HP stories it only turns up with 580,000+ stories. This is with all ratings and word count active and there is a total of over 15,000 "ghost" stories missing.
Does this sound like false advertisement to you? Because this action appears to look like the site is lying big time to me. Oh yeah, it also seems like the movie/tv sections have been hit the hardest since the purge started. I say this because, for example, the King Arthur section seems to be missing over 500+ stories since last month.

Holy shit...that's a lot of works to have missing! That's terrible!
And yes, this has to be false advertizing. They probably just don't want to admit how many fics they've lost because of the purges.

Yesterday I noticed that when I went to search for Shopaholic1369, in the search results she was shown with 3 stories, but when I clicked on the name, it went down to two. Today, the search result shows only 2. So, maybe it takes a while until the deleted stories are really shown?
But you are right, I tried it out and it's the same here, despite all characters, all languages, all ratings etc. there's a 16,000 story difference. Interesting.
