Stephen King said "Harry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend" enough said. I also have to say that i hate how weak Myers makes women look, when harry left Ginny she started a group against the death eater teacher, when Edward left bella she lay down and wanted to die. Plus Myers version of a warewolf was just a big dog at least rowling kept it real. Plus no sparkly fairy vampiers.

Meyer makes some women look fairly strong (Thinking of Alice, Esme, Rosalie and Jane here.) Also, The quiluete wolves weren't actually werewolves they were shapeshifters, there were 'real' werewolves in her book.

I have to say I'm actually a fan of both fandoms. I read all the HP books before I read Twilight. But I don't know which series I like more. Although, I like the Twilight fanfiction better then the actual books. The writers that make Edward and Bella human are a lot better writers then SM. But I don't agree with E/B marrying to young. I don't want to be married or have kids until I'm 30. I don't like Vampires or Wolves, but I liked the love story. And haven't E/B heard of a condom? But for reading FF I like Twilight FF a lot better then HP. They never used a condom because up until the last book SM said that vampires couldn't have kids

I know that. But they should've used one just in case the venom was bad for Bella. Plus I think even with how old Edward is they are way too young to be married or having kids.

I haven't read this entire forum, but I must say that I quite hope that Meyer puts out another book soon. I'm running out of fuel for my fireplace... >_>

Actually the one thing I think is better about Twilight are the amazing fanfic. There are some all human fics that I would quite happily pay for and some vampire ones that make SM's version look like a thirteen year old wrote them. SM's poorly written series gives much more scope to play with than JKR's. JKR left much fewer holes and unanswered questions and on the whole reads as far more complete and in need of no re-writes to make the series enjoyable. Twilight practically demands it .

Jacob doesn't age as long as he is still a shape-shifter.

How it's creepy? I never saw anything wrong with Jacob/Renesmee, it's not like he thinks of her romantically at this point.

He's 17 and she's a newborn. If that's not creepy, I don't know what is. Besides didn't he imprint her? I didn't read all the Twilight series. I tried reading Twilight, read the first chapter and put it down.

If you haven;t read the whole series, Then you can't really judge it. I don't like twilight-bashing because I personally think it's a great, well-written series.

I have read the whole series and I liked the first book, the second was a chore, the third was Ok but the fourth when Jacob Imprinted on Renesmee my Jaw hit the floor, i know he is not romanticly inclined towards her but it is still some what creepy. I did read to the end of the books but i still think there is a lot wrong with the series over all, such as weak bella and the fact that the Vampiers sparkle, if people really hate it after the first chapter then they have the right to put that opinion forward.

I know, they are entitled to their own opinion. I'm just saying that you can't openly bash it when you don't know it. Just like how you can't judge someone when you don't know them. Nothing with saying you just don't like it, or it's not your style or whatever. I just don't like people complaining about it when they've never read it.

This isn't bashing I'm just going to list everything that is wrong with twilight Bella is shallow and rude She is condescending towards both her parents treating them like particularly slow children She thinks her sweet fun loving classmates are dim She bitched about going to Forks when her mother said repeatedly she didn't have to go She crushed her supposed best friend's heart to pieces She sees no problem with her boyfriend killing people, wanting to kill her or telling her what she can or can't do She has no real interest in anything she's boring, she doesn't shop, talk with friends, for Christ bloody sake her favorite color is brown Being clumsy is her only character flaw besides being out and out stupid she has no common sense everyone else in that goddamned book can sense that there is something dangerous about the Cullens but HER Every problem there ever was it was her own fault All she cares about is Edward I mean she even admitted it during Eclipse What kind of woman is so frail that she has a complete emotional break down over a HIGH SCHOOL break up! Gods she actually started screaming in her sleep I mean really melodramatic much? No matter how many times everyone says get rid of her demon spawn her keeps it and let's it rip her apart btw it was really stupid of her to have sex with someone who could crush her to death in the first place What human being on this earth finds a cold hard body that's potentially deadly in way sexually attractive?

I think that the point that people who have never read it are trying to make is the same as someone who does not like a singer or band, that they don't think it is worth their time so they try and save the time of like minded people and in the process come across as if there opinion is the only one that matter. Other people just like Bashing something so they can start an argument/ Debate. Just the answere the question that is on this forum I do like Rowling better for the reasons mentioned in an earlier post.

very true, i have to admit that there are some elements of twilight that i like such as how strong Rose is shown to be and that you can not judge people by the way the look (Such as Emmett who is huge but more a prankster than a brute). It has to be said that when it comes to fanfictions there are a lot of good ones out there for twilight (and harry potter)

The only thing I ever needed to be told about Twilight to know it's so horrifyingly bad it will never grace my shelves? (for the record, I did try to read the first book. Didn't manage to get past the second chapter before I had to put it down or burn a book for the first time in my life)
There are TEN BLANK PAGES in one of the books, because Bella freaking shut down because Edward left her.
The icing on the cake was the fact Meyers used 'rainbow sparkles' in regards to a person's appearance deadly seriously. Sorry, but that phrase only belongs in Care Bear and My Little Pony fanfics.

Who said anything about rainbows? The sparkles aren't the best idea, but she had to make vampires that didn't burn to death in the light, but still had a reason for not going out in the light.

I didn't read it myself, since I couldn't stomach going that far in the books, but she evidently uses the phrase 'rainbow sparkles' regarding the vampires' appearance in sunlight no less than three times. I'm sorry, but there are other, better ways of expressing 'their skin glitters in sunlight' than 'rainbow sparkles'. Like I said, that phrase only belongs in Care Bears and My Little Pony. Also ... if she wanted something that drank blood but could run around in daylight, she needed to come up with something of her own making, rather than completely effing up vampires. The creatures in Meyers' books are not vampires. Dunno what the hell they are, but they're not vamps, the same way her 'werewolves' aren't werewolves.
