I guess, but so many fics don't flesh the hurt out, they make it seem like the twins are just okay with walking away. And then make the twins into saints... It's just agh. People seem to be so ready to hate Molly, Ginny, Ron, Percy, etc and then overlook any good qualities those characters have. But they act as though the twins were never wrong. Don't get me wrong, I love the twins, but not when they're so-so-so perfect and good and bah! Yeah, that I can agree with. It IS irksome when it's just 'LOLZ, WE IZ ON HARRI'S SIDE NAO' and that's the end of it.

George Imposter:'LmfaO youz so funny, look I can read ur mind, baha, All our parets did was gambel an ouz broza is a nrd hahA
God, that actually gave me a headache to write. How do people not get bothered, I'm itching to correct it all.

They bash for quite a few reasons, but the most common is that she's with Harry. It's a stupid reason to bash her for, but there you go. *shrug* I don't mind bashing her, but I also like making her more realistic, too.

... Do I want to know what Ginny gets bashed for? I can't think of anything except maybe being too much like the twins... Generally, she gets bashed as the 'Amortentia-giving, money-hungry, Boy-Who-Lived obsessed whore'. Now, I will admit to thinking that Ginny doesn't really see Harry, but The Boy Who Lived, and I may think she's a bad choice of partner for him, I don't quite go that far. Though I will admit that thanks to JKR's choices of characterization and suchlike, the Amortentia thing *does* appeal to those of us who are paranoid ... mostly because of the 'Molly giggling with the girls about potioning someone' thing that gets brought up before Ginny (who is largely unexplored as a character) suddenly garners Harry's attention. And I get irked at people who seem to think Ginny is the town bike. She took Neville to the ball, which had zero implications of them actually being involved and much implication of Neville being his sweet self and inviting someone who otherwise wouldn't have got to go. After that, she had two, count 'em two, boyfriends. In two or three years. Wow, some bike! NOT.

While I do think Ginny saw Harry as the BWL or the Chosen One for a while, I don't believe she gave him love potion. I do think they are good together, it just's that I wish they're relationship was fleshed out more in the books. I like thinking they spent a few years after the war getting to know each other better after the war.

I never got the whore thing, I mean, I know girls at Ginny's age who were getting pregnancy test and have dated seven/eight guys and a few one-night stands. (fourteen btw)
So she never seemed like a whore to me at all.

The funny part is when the same people say Hermione/Krum was a healthy relationship for Hermione. The entire thing bothered my, mostly their ages though, it would be less weird if they were in their twenties.

I'm firmly against all bashing--except for Umbridge bashing. I can read bashing fics, but I know for a fact that I can't write bashing, not without being totally cliched. I'm not particularly keen on Harry/Ginny, but that's because I always saw them as being more like siblings than boyfriend/girlfriend.

The funny part is when the same people say Hermione/Krum was a healthy relationship for Hermione. The entire thing bothered my, mostly their ages though, it would be less weird if they were in their twenties. I never had a problem with Viktor/Hermione due to age. She's fifteen and he's seventeen, eighteen max. That's like, nothing. Even at that age. (Hermione is a year older than Harry and Ron, as she was born in late September, so couldn't start Hogwarts the year she turned 11, and had to wait until she was nearly 12 to start). That said, I DID have a problem with Viktor/Hermione from the simple fact that Viktor just isn't explored at ALL character wise. I mean, hell. All we know about him is he's Bulgarian, speaks with an accent, is a hell of a seeker, ... and that's it. Dracosfairmadien: I don't necessarily think Ginny dosed Harry either, it's just that the whole thing was REALLY crap timing on JKR's part, combined with REALLY crap development of Ginny in general, and her relationship with Harry in particular. It gives paranoid minds fuel. Ginnyrules: I probably should have said it clearer, but when I was counting boyfriends, I was counting 'boyfriends that aren't Harry, because Harry doesn't count, because Ginny is totes Harry's soulmate and they got married so her dating him doesn't count' (in the minds of the people that get frothy about that sort of thing).

I found Viktor to be a bit shady, if I say so myself. The age thing being the reason that led into all the other things.
He's eighteen, an international Quidditch player, and he goes after the bookworm girl? And she constantly complains about him to turn around and become his defender when he looks at her?
Then he goes to a school for Dark Arts, which Hermione despises due to her rules, he barely knows her name, and Ms. Prim and Proper is okay with this. Even if thanks to Ron and Harry she's loosed up, to date a guy who can't say your name properly, that's, ugh.
And the message of that entire section seemed so flawed. Fix your face (i.e she fixed her teeth and hair) and get a hot boyfriend. It felt entirely to coincidental to me that her teeth get fixed and Krum's into her. And the thing about him going to the library to see her... what kind of bullshit is that? He's a tournament champion, of course he'd be in the library grabbing facts. And look, there's Hermione, the walking encyclopedia.
Hell of coincidences, is all I'm saying.

Eh, for me Victor seemed fine but then again he didn't. I thought it was sweet that he asked Hermione out but thought it was weird as well.
Also, I wonder how Hermione's parents reacted? A boy who's overage asking their underaged daughter on a date and then asking to keep in contact?

Hermione: Hey mum, dad, I'm dating a strange foreign boy who's family I know nothing about but he's a wizard and he's eighteen. Also, he's famous!
Parents: What? Why? When? What?
Hermione: He's at the school for a dangerous tournament my best friend entered. He really cares though, don't worry, he put me underwater in a lake!
Parents: O.o Tournament? Lake? What?
That's about the way I'd see it going.

Same here. If she told them about all the death-defying stunts with Harry, they'd pull her out of Hogwarts at once, and she wouldn't want that. But keeping everything from her parents would probably estrange them ... it's really a difficult situation.

They saved me from a troll! Parents: o.O Hermione: And we got past these really wicked traps and ... Parents: *swiftly send a 'will not be returning to Hogwarts' notice* She'd never have seen second year, if they cared about her at all and she told them in detail what had happened!
