The books falling onto his head was the first thing that came to my mind.

LOL! Imagine a goblin giving them the books! This is really original and the one of reading in the tent too, but I really don't care for how the books are given to them it's the afterwards that matters to me. I don't like when the next generation is reading too or Tom Riddle, but Sirius and Remus must be there. I don't like when Molly is there, she's always freakin' out and she pisses me off a lot. Thank you! And sometimes I question people and their oh, Voldemort/Tom Riddle just needs love to become a better person. Or he'll change his actions upon reading the books. What part of him being a megalomaniacal psychopath do people not get? He is incapable of love, remorse and redemption!

If someone got to him when he was younger then he wouldn't have turned like that but I believe he would be beyond help if he was older than, say 14.
I just like to see every side of a character, which is why I enjoy completely, insanely evil Voldemort to him changing his appearance back to "Tom" and stopping the death and destruction. Same as with Dumbledore, I can read him as simply making mistakes and being misguided to being completely evil, manipulative puppet master.

He was not held enough as a baby. Seriously, it causes something called an "attachment disorder."

When he was 11, he proved that he could murder a bunny and harm two children. He caused pain to people and bent them to do his bidding. He was beyon redemption. You can't fix a psychopath, you can only change their methods of causing pain. From murder to becoming a power hungry politician aka Hitler.
That was the first name that came to mind.

I know, I took psychology for a while and attachments was one of the modules.
I mostly love every character and believe they could all be good or evil. It's not stupid or ridiculous to imagine them a different way, or want to portray them a different way, so long as you acknowledge that that's not the way they were portrayed in canon.

I belive that there's no change for Tom, you know about the cave 'accident' I think he was already beyond levels of 'evilness' at that point. I can really see Dumbledore as manipulative, I think that by the way he controls Snape he shows that he can manipulate a person very well. I hate when people get all emotional and pity Harry all the time! I mean, or this already happened and you can't change or it will happen and you can change.

Well I like the bad guys going even worse. I'm the same. Currently I'm working on a fic in which Pettigrew is responsible for raising children who were kidnapped in the first war. I know Pettigrew was a coward and fell into the dark arts for glory, but I really want him to go more dark. That's why I plan to push him into an abusive role. The darker they get, the more intense the story and the more I love it. And that's probably why my all-time favorite villain list is topped by the Joker. I just can't get his quote "In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out" out of my head, that and "All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day. You had a bad day once. Am I right? You had a bad day and everything changed" Is it a bad thing if I wished they made villains like him again? Voldemort was so blah in my opinion as a villain. One day, I shall write the fanfic in my head that involves Voldemort being more of a lunatic villain instead of a sappy text book megalomaniac who had psychopathic tendencies and daddy issues. That's probably why I love Bellatrix as a villain more, because she's just deranged.

Yeesh, this forum has been up for a week and it already has 600+ members. I guess that goes to show that the "RtB" fanbase is quite large compared to others if we have a membership like this already. Just wanted to point this out because I am really shocked at how fast this forum has gotten off too so far.

So am I! I didn't think there were that many people reading these who were willing to follow the genre wherever it was moved to.

Same here! Though I am glad that Point Given's attempt to give these stories a new home was such a success. And the possibility to talk about our favourite subject in the general section is a very big plus!

I too am surprised at the member listing. 600 authors/fans are a lot. I'm really thankful that this forum was set up and I also feel like I'm getting to know some of you better than if I was simply reading your stories. Yes, you learn a lot about people from their stories, but there is something about simply chatting as well.

I totally agree, even if I still do feel like an outsider. Has anyone checked out Cwam's community on FF.net? He has one all those who wrote RtB series, so if some of those authors are active that aren't already on here, can probably send them the message...

I'm so glad this community started. Before I felt a little crazy because I debate characteristics of fictional characters in my head. Now I have a community that's politer and warmer than Ff.net where I can post stories and not feel crazy. YAY!

Sanity Clause... Oh, that's good. Too bad it's nowhere near Christmas at this time. Maybe in fanfics...

Let's face the truth here folks. No one is sane, everyone on this planet is crazy, and Lemmy of Motorhead is God...Oh, and Monty Python is a perfect example of human behavior.

Please, the only way to determine sanity is by a lunacy hearing.

With Umbitch in charge?

With Umbitch in charge? Uh....I think in that case she'd be on trial. Or I would be on trial for the assault of the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister instead of a lunacy hearing. I'd rather have Dumbledore running my hearing. He may have his manipulative moments, but he's a far cry better than El Sapo.

Then Fudge would change the time again and take over to get his pet toad off, don't you think? We'll just have to make sure she has an unfortunate accident at the right time, so they can't blame you!

Please, if Fudge interfered I'd hire the Weasley twins to distract him then have Sirius frighten El Sapo with his animagus form allowing her to be a quivering mess by the time it came down to me.
No one can argue with someone who's cute and innocent, right?

LOL - that sounds like a good idea And it might even work. Then have Padfoot sit at your side and give anyone speaking against you his best grim-death-glare! That should be enough to get these superstitious witches and wizards to behave.
