It sounds like these people don't care what the story is, their big complaint is it's against 'the rules'. They have no common sense nor can they think for themselves whether or not a rule is important or ridiculous and therefore needs to be changed or ignored. It's like their mind breaks if a rule isn't followed. I bet if a rule was made that you had to stand in the middle of a street so a car could hit you they'd all line up in the middle of the street and wait for a car to hit them because the rules told them to.

*ROFL* Want to test that? Would be interesting - and if they complain that it's dangerous, you can tell them you don't care, it's the rule and they have to follow them!

Rules are meant to be broken, it's an unwritten law or something

They would probably do it. I mean ... It's the Rules!

Those trolls obviously worship the rules, like Hermione did in the first book.

Then the first rule should be: "Never report any story for breaking rules"! Would make them harmless.

I would love to see that rule put up on FFN lol. Or they could put up a rule stating that you are only allowed to report a total of say...three stories, once you've reached your max you are no longer allowed to report on any story for any reason.

Ha, that would work well. And it's not allowed to change your username more than once per year, to make sure they can't just change it and continue.

And that's why they won't do it, sadly. Sometimes I really wonder where that website is heading to.

Yes this author is asking people to blackout/boycott ffn on July 27th, I believe that's the date, I would double check that though.

Boycott. Meh, I don't care either way, too many idiots out there will still go on.
You'd think a site of FF's caliber would have an anti-bullying policy implemented, but no, free reign is totally allowed. What someone should do, use a song that has open rights from like, the Beatles or Elvis or something, and when the flame comes. Smack them with the damn law. See what those morons do then.

That's what I don't understand. What these critics do who keep reporting fics is nothing more than bullying authors, and the site should protect its users from abuse, not back the bullying up. As I said before - no matter the legal side of the whole mess, it's the way how they go about it that annoys me the most.

It's not limited to the HP fandom, sadly. They do it to all the popular ones at least.
