Lucinda ate the entire first bag in a matter of minutes, savoring the sweet, red berries as they burst in her mouth.

Rhea had her berries a bit slower, popping them in her mouth two by two and enjoying the taste. She glanced at Lucinda finishing off the bag and teased, "You are hungry, aren't you?"

Lucinda stuck her head up and beamed. "Yep." Was all she said, before devouring her second pouch in a show of gluttony.

Rolling her eyes, Rhea finished off her own bag and began pecking at the peach. "I wonder how long all this food will last us." She wondered aloud.

Lucinda thought about it. "Most likely, for a couple days. Then one of us will need to flash back and gather more."

Fawkes looked up from his eating of the nuts to put in, "And whoever it is should bring back more lemon drops. We have a dangerously low supply of them." He gestured toward the rather large pile of lemon drops that he had brought along.

Lucinda walked over to Fawkes' pile of lemon drops and stole one. Hey, not bad!"Yeah. At this rate, they'll be all gone." she agreed, teasingly.

Fawkes proceeded to look horrified as Lucinda stole a drop. "Especially if a certain someone keeps stealing them!" He then gobbled another up, looking quite protective of them.

Lucinda laughed, before going back to her own pouch of berries. "Don't worry, Fawkes! I couldn't stand to eat too many of those...lemons aren't exactly my favorite fruit."

"Such ill taste!" Fawkes replied in a shocked tone, "Lemons are easily the best fruit of all! Come on Rhea, surely you see the love of the Lemon as well?"
---
Rhea giggled a bit at the two phoenixes' interaction. "Sorry Fawkes, I'm with Lucinda on this one, Lemons are quite... nasty honestly."
---
Fawkes then gave the look of betrayal, "I thought you of all people... Oh poor lemons! Hated by all but good ole' Fawkes!"

Lucinda chuckled. "Well, Fawkes, you are the crazy one."

Had he been human, Jei's face would have drained of all color. Instead, his eyes looked unsettled and he pawed the unfamiliar ground nervously. "It is." He agreed. For some reason, the image of him running alone in the forest seemed to linger in the back of his mind. It made him shiver, and he couldn't figure out why.

"So, where to now?" asked Kohl, looking around nervously.
She couldn't help but feel skittish as memories of that day came rising up in her mind. She shrugged it off and shook her head angrily. Now wasn't the time!

Jei didn't really know. He looked around trying to pinpoint his mother, but he couldn't locate her in the crowd. Turning back to Kohl, he suggested flimsily, "Would you like to go and eat? We left the herd pretty quickly..."

"Sure," she agreed, relieved he'd taken charge.
In truth, she had no idea where to go, and eating wasn't a priority. She wasn't even hungry, not when those memories kept coming up. Nevertheless, Jei sounded like he knew what he was doing, and she'd trust him. He had battle experience after all.
"Lead the way," she said with a stab at sounding cheerful.

Jei was a bit pleased that Kohl was sounding a bit happier, so he quickly led them to where the food was laid. It was spread out quite a bit, so there were already a few people picking out stuff. He didn't notice anyone in particular and instead eyes the pile, not really wanting much of anything right now.

"I'm not really hungry either," said Kohl, noticing Jei wasn't eating, "Do you want to explore this place a bit?"
As she said this she couldn't help but notice that someone had dragged something meaty away, as the blood of the animal stained the barren ice. It made her shudder.

Agora finished her deer and threw the remains away from her area. Someone would probably eat it...Satisfied, she decided to take a nap,and then start setting her traps.

Noxra sat within their self-made home and waited for the telltale signs of Arcix dozing off. He always did so once he finished with her. She sat beside his lying form, holding her head in her hands. Where did I go wrong? All I wanted was to be secure in life...now look at me. She thought back to her younger days, her happier moments, and wondered how things had gotten so bad. Dementors were a proud, powerful race. People everywhere feared them, and only heliopaths could kill them.
In essence, they were supposed to be practically immortal, ruling the world and dining on the weaker species as needed. But now, they were the ones being preyed upon. So, what does that make me then? Prey for prey? Her thoughts continued in this downward spiral for nearly an hour, before she realized that Arcix must have fallen asleep sometime ago.
Quietly, she made her way out of their little home and went toward the only one who could make her feel better.

Modor lingered outside the caverns. Today had been an incredible day. The promise of warmth had arrived, and he could feel it in the air. Even the others were looking healthier. Noxra had shown him her face. And what a face! She was even lovelier than he'd imagined. The idea of having her with him while Acrix was alive made her all the more lovely. The idea of returning her to Acrix made him feel ill.
As he stood, lost in his thoughts, he suddenly sensed another Dementor close by. He turned, ever so carefully, to see her. His Queen.
"My Queen," he whispered hoarsely, before slipping into the caverns, knowing she'd follow.

Noxra's spirits lifted upon hearing his voice. It was good to know that he had waited for her. Slower and less graceful than usual, Noxra followed Mordor, hoping that he could soothe her.

Modor could sense Noxra's unease. What had Acrix done with her? She seemed upset and uneasy. He wound to the lowest caverns, where the darkness made his sight easier, and dropped his hood.
"My Queen, my love," he began, approaching her and taking her hands in his, "What has that man done to you to subdue you so much?"

If Noxra had eyes or tear ducts, she would have cried. Instead, she gripped Mordor's thin hands tightly, trembling. How could he want her now, when she was nothing more than Arcix's plaything? "I was shown my place." she answered in barely a whisper, unable to articulate further. Females were always inferior to males, always. She needed to remember that more.

Modor felt his anger course through him. Of course Acrix would do things like that with her. He'd never learnt to treat a woman properly. Acrix was just like his father. Disgusting, the both of them. He wanted to string Acrix's neck, but he wasn't strong enough. Not now yet. Soon, soon he'd take Acrix's place. He'd show him how a true leader did things. How a true Queen was treated.
"Then let me show you your place in my heart," said Modor quietly, "The place that a creature as divine as you truly belongs in."
With that, he lowered her hood, and gently caressed her face in his hands, waiting for her trembling to stop.

She clung onto his kind words, like a drowning man would anything they could grasp. His cool touch sent shivers of want through her. He saw her as someone of value, someone to care for. His Queen. She trailed her hands along his smooth, bald head. Noxra then brought her hands to his face. It had been so long since someone had given her something as kind as this.
Why hadn't she noticed Mordor sooner?
"Please," she whispered. "please show me." All she wanted now was to feel beautiful and loved.

Without further prompting, Modor let himself go. The temperatures in the cave cooled considerably in their moment of unbidden passion, and the fog lifted off of them. He left no inch unexplored, and moved with the slowest, and gentlest touch. Acrix was such a fool, to let a woman like Noxra rot the way he did. She was flawless.
"You are the most wonderful creature I have ever seen, my dearest," he whispered, and other sweet things.

Deep down, she did not fully believe his words. If she were so lovely, why didn't Arcix notice? Why had he done nothing but ignore her and cause her pain? Even so, she drank up every sweet touch, every kind word, like someone denied water for a long time. So gentle, so loving... "Thank you." she whispered contentedly. "Thank you for being so wonderful to me."
There were so many thing she wanted to say, but couldn't find the words. His body was even finer than she had ever imagined, so perfect and cold. And his feelings rang true. "I've wondered what it would have been like, if I hadn't have gotten with Arcix. I was a fool, Mordor."

"Come now," said Modor soothingly, "Don't think like that, the past is but a memory. It is this, our future, that we are here tonight for."
Inside, Modor felt uncomfortable. Her body while flawless, held remnants of bruises and scars. They felt similar to a body long ago he'd seen. Was Acrix doing the same thing to Noxra that that man had done to his mother? The idea made him sick. This tryst wasn't supposed to portray his beautiful and strong Noxra in the same position as her. He traced his fingers over them, as though trying to heal or erase them.
"He never deserved you," said Modor, rougher then he intended, "Never."

Noxra felt so very ashamed and unsure. He was actually looking at Arcix's latest round on her... the second time today. And yet, he hadn't retreated from her. She gave him her best impression of a smile. "I-I- thank you. You're so good, Mordor. I promise I'll serve you well."

"Hush," said Modor, "I don't want you to serve me, I want you beside me."
He meant every word in that sentence. This Noxra seemed so fragile. The Noxra who had defied her husband in the afternoon, she had been so much stronger, and just one round with Acrix was ruining her. He wanted-No-needed her like that again. He would make her happy, he'd make her well.
