"Nuh-uh! We fell at the same time!" Jei shot back, pawing the ground in amusement. He didn't notice it, but the ice below him cracked just a bit as he pawed at it.

Fawkes eyed the two with a curious eye, "Hmm... I'd have to say Kohl won."

"Ha! I win!" teased Kohl, standing up finally, only to flounce back down near Jei, when she noticed a crack. Her eyes widened, and she scrambled to get up, "The ice is cracking!"

Two things happened at once, as Kohl suddenly yell the warning, Jei backed up hurriedly, and the force that he moved as finally broke through the ice. He let out a surprised neigh as his back legs slid into the frigid water below.
The second thing was that, also as soon as Kohl yelled, Fawkes was up and over by the two foals. He got under Kohl and began to push her away, so that she wouldn't fall in as well. Once she was in safety, he'd pull Jei out of the water.

Kohl screamed when Jei went under. Fawkes was pushing her back, but she could barely notice as she tried to get to him frantically.
"We need to get Jei!" she screamed, panicking as he disappeared.

Jei began flailing as he slid into the water, but it was rather useless, and did nothing to help swim. He'd never swum before, and he had no instinct to do so. He gasped in water and began coughing under water as he tried to resurface.

"Get back!" Fawkes ordered, trying to get the panicked filly away from the hole. It might cave further any moment. "I'll get him out, just get back!"

Kohl wanted to scream at Fawkes, but she understood what he was aaying, and she backed away, eying the hole in shock. She was quaking, and all she could think of was Jei. She couldn't lose him too! Not now! Not here!

The moment the filly was out of the way, Fawkes eyes the frigid water with contempt for a moment, before throwing away any worry had of it, and plunging into it. He was only under for a moment before he managed to half push, half pull the unicorn out. Once Jei was half out, he spluttered and quickly pulled himself up, hurrying away from the whole as he shivered.
Fawkes followed Jei from the water and, once both Foals were safe, shook himself as he was dripping wet.

Kohl immediately rushed to Jei, and began nuzzling him protectively. She looked him over between nuzzling him, completely terrified. "Are you alright? I was so worried! Your not hurt, are you? Cold?!"

For most of the day, Lucinda went back and forth between patrolling and conserving her strength. This land was starting to tax on her emotionally, and the white filled her with nightmares of the past. But now, it was getting close to evening, and Lucinda knew that Rhea needed to be taken somewhere safe. She had spoken to Kei about it because she couldn't find Fawkes. Kei would make sure that anyone who wanted to speak with her knew that she wasn't available.
After her latest rounds, she returned to the shelter Rhea had made. "Are you ready to leave?" she asked, not looking forward to the pain that Rhea had to go through tonight.

Rhea looked around the shelter, biting her lip. She never was ready to change, it always seemed to come as a shock, no matter how often she did it. Finally, the girl simply nodded and approached Lucinda, ready to be flashed.

Lucinda landed on her shoulder and nuzzled her cheek. "If you need me, I will come to you." she said simply. "I promise."

Immediately, Rhea shook her head. The same as before, She knew that the werewolf wouldn't be able to catch Lucinda and hurt the bird, but... she didn't want Lucinda anywhere near her during the full moon. "I know you'll want to help but..." Rhea hesitated, "I don't want you near me during the transformation, alright? I'll probably be in pain, and I don't know what the werewolf will be doing, but just don't come. Stay with my Mum in the house and ignore anything you may hear." From what her mother had told her, the Werewolf made quite a bit of noise, switching between pitiful whining to be let out, snarls of pain as it bit itself and howls of anger to be let out.

Lucinda felt a stab of betrayal at being told to abandon her, but it didn't make sense, so she ignored it. If Rhea didn't want to her to see the transformation, that was a wish she'd have to grant. "If you say so, Rhea. But my offer still stands." she replied kindly. And with that, she closed her eyes and focused her magic on Rhea's want. It took a moment, but soon they flashed off, and she found them in front of an unfamiliar house.
Ah! Sweet, sweet green! Such a relief! "Are we here?" she asked.
