"Then I will stay by your side." she said, as a foreign warmth spread through her - one that had nothing to do with the phoenix's. "My King."

"Stay with me until sunrise," he whispered lovingly.
He asked her not only to spite Acrix, but a strange fear that if she returned, Acriz would hurt her again. At least during the day, Acrix would be weaker than normal. His lovely new Queen deserved simply the best.

"But what of our plans?" she asked, worried. "If he doesn't know where I'm at, he will kill you." And me too, probably.

"Okay," Jei agreed, Kohl seemed to have the better idea here. He looked around, wondering what there was to discover. Then he to noticed the trail of blood, "I wonder who got something big?" He said aloud as he approached the trail curiously.

"He won't suspect," said Modor, "Tell him you went to spy on the group, he doesn't deserve to have you by his side. Unless, do you wish to return?"
---
Kohl followed Jei to the trail of blood. It was a bright red, and seemed odd on the bright snow. She followed the trail to notice it ended behind a large ice wall.
"Whatever took it is back there," she said, nodding in the area.

Jei followed Kohl's gaze up the trail and tilted his head as he saw the ice. "Do you want to follow it?" He asked in an excited voice. He always loved a good adventure!

Noxra balled her fists at the thought of returning to that...that thing!"No, I don't. I hate being near him! Did you know that he was stupid enough to attack one of the phoenix's allies today?" She asked, changing the subject for the moment. No, she didn't want to return, but the fear of discovery was still well within her.

Kohl couldn't help but feel excited and nervous. She loved exploring, but here, in this place, it felt somehow dangerous. Jei's excitement, however, was infectious.
"Let's go!" she said happily, "Want to race there?"

Nodding, the young unicorn didn't even wait for a 'go', he just chirped, "Yep!" And took off, laughing at his head start. He didn't notice that the smell that accompanied the blood was familiar, in a not so nice way.

"Fool," said Modor with a snort. "Just like his father, you know? His father had no impulse control at all. If he had, Acrix might never have been born."
And I'd still have a mother, he thought sadly. His fingers lightly moved over Noxra's back, though his thoughts elsewhere.
"So, what happened?" asked Modor, trying to ignore the memories.
---
Kohl gave out a whoop of joy, and chased Jei. On the slippery ice, it was harder to stay balanced, but that didn't matter. Her speed and thrill for the chase made her catch up to Jei, and as she began to surpass him, she smelt something familiar. Now just by the dune, she stopped. She shook her head wildly and pawed the ground. How could that thing be here? Wasn't it near Fawkes?

Jei gave a huff as Kohl got pass him, Girls weren't supposed to be faster! He thought in a pout-like tone. But when Kohl stopped before the discovered the trails creator, Jei skidded to a stop just a bit in front of her and asked in a confused tone, "Kohl? What's wrong?" He sniffed the air for danger and caught a familiar scent, but he couldn't place it.

"It's nothing, do you smell something?" she asked, hoping it was just her memories getting stronger. "Should we go further in?"

Noxra explained Arcix's idiocy, and in doing so, became angry with him. He almost ruined everything! "The phoenix threatened to kill him if he didn't leave. Something tells me that she's going to be even more wary of us, now." She reveled in Mordor's touch, enjoying the way his hands softly trailed along her back. Arcix was never like this.
---
Agora dreamed pleasantly. She and her babies had the forest to themselves, save for those they used as prey. That damned phoenix was nowhere in sight, and those foolish humans were writhing in agony on her webs. The children slowly drained their innards, clicking happily as they did so. It was absolutely perfect...

"I smell something," Jei replied, "Not sure what though." He swung his head toward the ice wall and agreed, "Yeah. I'm wondering what it is... Familiar, but not really." With that, he began trotting around to where the smell led.

"Impulsive fool," said Modor, "If I had been there, I'd have known to hold back. I hope our children in the future work with understanding rather than impulse. The phoenix didn't threaten you, right my Queen?"
---
Kohl wanted to turn back, but Jei was already moving. Shifting uneasily, she followed him reluctantly. The smell was strong, and all too familiar. She spotted what looked like the remains of a deer carcass, torn up. She felt ill, and then, she sensed it. Without turning her head, she asked, "Is there something behind us Jei?"

"No, she didn't." Noxra said, thinking back on it. "She just seemed really concerned over the werewolf girl. It was impressive, considering that our powers could kill her in an instant, under normal circumstances."

Jei looked at Kohl curiously for a moment, before turning around. He gave a quite surprised yelp when he saw the sleeping spider. "Uh...Er.... Kohl, don't look behind you." He felt quite bad, he'd dragged Kohl over here, right to her fear.

"Werewolf?" asked Modor, surprised. "I remember some, they used to have rather ugly souls. Of course Acrix would want that."
---
"Why?" whispered Kohl, fearing the answer. She kept her head trained on the dead carcass. Had her parents met that same fate?

"Her soul was actually...pleasant." she replied thoughtfully. "Sweet, kind...generally a good person. Just be careful." Noxra warned, remembering the sheer, awe-inspiring rage that had followed. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that the werewolf is the her master."
---
Agora started to stir. There were voices out there...but no. She was too comfortable. Not time to wake up, yet.

Jei didn't know what to do. The spider seemed like it was about to awake, and he needed to get Kohl out of there without waking it up faster. "Uh...Um... Just... go. Leave and don't look back."

"Okay," whimpered Kohl, stepping forward, the smell of the dead deer now filling her nostrils. She stepped forward, and stepped on something squishy. She lifted her hoof, and then yelled out in shock. She had stepped on some kind of eyeball!
---
"Of course," said Modor, "I wouldn't want to lose the new warmth. Though her soul does sound delicious. It's such a shame that she isn't ours to have."

Pain! Sudden, sharp pain hit Agora in her eye. With a ferocious cry, she was up at once. Murder! She would fucking murder the unlucky soul who did it! She looked around out of her remaining good eyes, and came across two little unicorn foals.
"HOW DARE YOU?" She raged, lunging for the nearest one. She didn't care what the phoenixes had to say, she would feed upon them!
---
"Indeed." Noxra agreed, hugging Mordor closer. "But I know you are far smarter than that. Far better. We'll have all the time in the world for even tastier souls, will we not?"

Kohl screamed out as she opened her eyes to see the giant Acromantula. She backed away in fear, but a giant pincer grabbed her. She screamed louder, the whites of her eyes showing in her fear.
"Mummy! Daddy!" she screamed, fear making her mind blank out, "Help!"
---
"The first soul I get, I will bring to you my Queen," promised Modor, a giddy feeling spreading through him. Noxra really was falling in love with him.

Jei first let out a not-very-manly squeal of surprise, and then a snarl of rage. He reared up as Kohl was grabbed by the horrible creature and yelled, "Let go of her!" He pounded down onto the ground from his rear as a typical sign of warning and threw his head forward, his horn now being positioned for attack if Kohl was not released.

"Such a gentleman." Noxra said, feeling pleased and rather special. "And I will be sure to pleasure you in every way I can."
---
Agora hissed venom at the offending little foal, her eye still throbbing with pain. "I'm going to rip you apart and liquify your innards!"

"Just you mere presence is pleasure enough, my dear," said Modor, and then he added seductively, "However, I assure you I will be inclined to take you up on that offer as often as I can."
As he said those words, he moved his hand from her back to her shoulder and neck area, stroking in a seductive fashion.
---
Kohl's screams only got louder when the Acromantula spoke. She struggled in it's grasp, as venom hit her front leg. She flailed out, her legs hitting the spider as she struggled.

Noxra allowed herself to relax, to throw away her inhibitions. Tomorrow, she'd have to return to Arcix. But for now, there was only them. She returned his sensual touches with ones of her own, making trails down his chest and back, reveling in the man before her. She brushed his neck, his cheeks, his lips. She was content, yet yearning at the same time. "Mordor...please?" she asked in a low voice, quivering with a physical hunger.

"I thought it was me who was to request pleasure," he teased lovingly, moving his hand lower. The familiar arousement of seeing Acrix's wife below him lingered, but was met with a new desire to truly pleasure Noxra, to see her happy. He wanted to erase her pains in the future. Show her a world that wasn't tainted by Acrix and have her revel in the delights of knowing she'd be happier someday.

And so, in the wake of a new future and before the rages of war, Noxra and Mordor shared moments of perfection, strung together by their desires and want. In the dementor sense, it was beauty and magic, all intertwined. Better than any horror, sweeter than any terror. And when they finished, Noxra rested her head on Mordor's chest. In his presence, she was able to forget her Arcix and the pain he brought in her life. "That was wonderful." she murmured softly.

"It had you," said Modor, "Of course it would be wonderful."
He rested his head back, and allowed himself a moment of peace. Nothing could alter his happiness in this moment. He would soon become King, overthrow Acrix, and lead Noxra and the others to a life filled with joy. He'd have terror breathing down the backs of humanity, souls presented at every turn, and despair all around him to revel in. No one had a brighter future than him.
