What ever happened to the days where stories were only reported if it had something really bad in it?

that was shot down a long time ago. We are now in the age of showing off and one-upping each other, or that is how I see this situation as. this group or whatever they are, are trying to show how great they are by getting ride of all the "clutter" on the board. Maybe they think they will get a big reward or something.

yeah. I haven't been on hpfandom in a while so I don't really remember how it was set out but I don't remember there being an easy search bar anywhere.

I've got a pdf copy of all four parts, and actually of most reading stories on my favourites list and some more. When the recent trouble started, I went to copy all these stories I wanted to be able to re-read.

Yeah, OK. I'll tell her about this site. I didn't get the impression from her profile message that she wanted to give up on the fic, more that she doesn't seem to know that there are other options besides fanfiction.net.

Oh yes, please ask! I really liked her fic and was so sad to see that she seems to stop writing. I'd even help code the chapters for here, if necessary!

I've sent messages to loads of authors about this site and the purge but I've only recieved 3 answers and only one sounded like they'd actually look at this site.

We can only hope they come here, but I would not say Stop posting them on FF.net but do suggest waiting a bit before re-uploading them over there, so give a chance to cool off, assuming they do that is.

I haven't heard of anything getting deletedin the last day but that doesn't mean it's stopped. I'm hoping it has.

Yeah I wasn't telling them to not post there any more and to completely move over here. Was just letting them know they had an alternative place to post them where they'd have purely loyal followers.

aww man! It's still going? I thought it might have stopped seeing as we hadn't heard of any more people reporting. I'm going to watch that Heart of Auir II's favourite's list and see if they match up to the things that get deleted.

Honey The Bee has changed his name to The Bee Honey and has stated on his profile that he has not stopped reporting but has stopped putting them on his favourite's list.

He also posted a link to a forum that lists a "graveyard" of fics that the Literate Union has succesfully had deleted (in the past ten years I believe).

Three stories I read were deleted during the night (the night in my country), they were Hogwarts reads Globet of Fire, Hogwarts read the Prisoner of Azkaban (I'm not sure, but I think this one is Miss CH Sparkles') and Exploring Harry Potter's Life (which wasn't in the search anymore or her profile, but I still could read it).

Did we have all of those saved? I know I saved 30 chapters of Lady Celestial Star's fic. but that wasn't all of it, but seeing as she had been reposting it I'm guessing she has a copy saved herself.

I don't know I hope we did, the first one I said I don't know who writes, but the other ones were pretty famous. I think that there were only 30 chapters of Exploring Harry Potter's Life before all this started.

We all know ff.net have changed their rules about posting. Now a lot of stories are being taken down, some of them I can understand. However were a few that where removed due to system error. It took them a week to message me back when I asked about it. I was informed that if any of my stories where to go missing the only thing I could do was repost them. They are working on fixing the error but do not know when it will be done.

Yeah, if I had found a website where I could read some of the stories I loved, too, I'd have turned my back long ago. It's too annoying. I just wish I could find a HP version of my favourite LotR archive ...
Besides, there's still not a single word on the homepage about this action - they don't say they have changed the rules, they just go to delete fics without warning and without people even knowing the rules have been changed. That's very bad style and doesn't do anything for my already bad opinion of them. A really great way to drive off all the good authors, too.
