I had never heard of ficwad or hpfanficarchive, just went to check them out didn't like ficwad at all as you couldn't do a search by pairing or anything really it seemed like you just had to go through all the stories and hpfanficarchive doesn't allow slash so that's a no go. Thanks anyway though, I guess I'll just have to hope that new site, yourfanfiction takes off.

I think that hpfandom.net might be the way to go.

hpfandom is a good site, I really like it. I'm just not sure what their rules are, do they allow M and MA content or have they just been ignoring it like FFN? I would hate for them to start there own purge if that's the case.

I just went to hpfandom to see what their rules are and I think your right. I didn't find an actual list of rules but it did say you had to be 18yrs of age to be on the site so yeah I guess they do accept M and MA content so that's good. While I was there I did find this from the admin: And to all the readers out there, you can't complain about the stories you read to the admins, because, you know what, reading is not a mandatory thing. If you don't like what you're reading, don't read it!
HA!! Take that fanfiction renaissance and all you other story reporting idiots. Hehe, sorry had to get that out of my system.

The thing preventing me from joining a site based purely on one fandom is that I enjoy reading fandoms for other things such as comics and anime, and eventually I do want to write for more fandoms.

That's why I would prefer branching to generic fanfiction site like yourfanfiction.com instead. That's where I am right now at least, and I'll be posting here as well. It's better than being mistreated on ff.net and dreading opening the site to see who's been deleted and who hasn't.

I contacted yourfanfiction about RtB stories and got the following response:
"The only thing I would say is, some people have asked about a reading the fanfiction type thing, which we're fine with as long as you have the author's permission first. That doesn't sound like what you're planning though so it should be fine.
Also, it's probably best not to include the whole book in your fanfiction as I think that can break copyright laws - am I right in assuming that you'll be only including snippets of the books in your fanfiction?
I'll make sure to let you know once I've added the section "

You shouldn't be breaking copyright unless you don't denote which parts belong to the source author, in this case JK. Basically like you would when you source a paragraph from a book for an essay. It's not always claiming that you own certain things, it's not claiming that you don't...that's a rather awkward sentence:).

I would like to see more 'characters read fanfiction' fanfics, especially of the more novel like fics out there. There have been some potential started but I haven't seen one complete yet.

Yeah right Their is still this other author whose name I can't spell is still deleting fic's so it's not over.
